Favorite card?

x_shadow_xx

Okay, so there are a lot of threads about favorite decks, but what is your favorite card?? What is the one card you love to see and why??

I have managed to whittle it down to two cards in my RWS...

The Knight of Swords ~ I love the sense of rushing and the speed of the galloping horse, the Knight has his sword drawn and raised ready to enter the fray. I can hear the thudding of the hooves and see a small band of enemies just outside the frame. The knight is fearless and eager to fight, heart thumping and adrenaline rushing through his veins.

7 of Swords ~ I love the sneaky little grin on the thief's face as he tiptoes away with the swords. The tents in the background remind me of Mongol huts on the plains of Mongolia in the time of Ghengis Khan.
There are 3 silhouettes of people that I imagine are guards sat around a campfire laughing about a previous conquered battle, and probably having a drink or two, which is why they've not seen the thief!
And surely that isn't the best way to carry 5 swords! One with the blade against your neck and 2 blades resting on your wrist!
The way he's looking around to me seems like he's stolen the 5 swords and was sneaking out when he spotted 2 more stuck in the ground. He looks like he's trying to decide whether to take them too, but may drop the ones he's carrying and alert the guards. Too greedy perhaps?

My favorite tarot card of all time is from Matt Myers' Art Nouveau. I just got a copy of this deck recently to replace one that was tossed out years and years ago (long story). I'm having trouble connecting with the rest of the deck this time around, but that Strength card will always be my favorite.

It depicts a young woman (who bears a striking resemblance to me at a younger age) meditating upon the acorn in her hand. She's sitting against a lion, underneath an oak tree.

Strength is my favorite card in most decks, actually. And, I learned recently that it is my "life card" so, how cool is that? :)

Strength, regardless of the deck

When I was still in college, I passed a huge work of art depicting androcles and the lion everyday on my way to vet school. And now that I am a vet, I find myself "taming" scared and passionate cats daily. Not only does the card remind me of myself, the imagery of women with wild animals goes back to the beginnings of religion.
The lady of the strength card has become a personal icon for me, connecting my profession with my passion for history.

Ravenswing

Hands down it's the Queen of Cups. I was always drawn to her--then I found out that she's my soul card. It figures.

She's the first card I really look at after I scan through a new deck. She's gotta bond or the deck's a no go. I've traded a lot of decks 'cause of her...
