Acquiring & learning about ephemeral data

Ffortiwn

I am working on a personal project related to tarot and astrology that has progressed to the point where I've started to seek out ephemeral data. My grasp of astrology is still fairly rudimentary, but I believe my learning approach is such that looking at raw tabular data will actually help me in certain ways much faster than reading books. At least, at this stage. Later on, especially after I can begin to see and manipulate the data directly, I can start reading more.

The library is obviously a great place to start, but ultimately I want it in electronic form and that doesn't seem to be freely available on the internet (unless my search skills failed me this time). I did find this product, which boasts Excel exports, so that sounds good. Although my project is only self-funded, I'm willing to invest a bit if it makes sense.

Where would be a good place for me to start?

Freeware for your needs

There is a freeware program that is both astrological and astronomical in its nature that produces ephemeris tables for selectable spans of time and increments, includes a very large number of centaurs, asteroids, comets in addition to the planets, and will also generate a number of highly useful charts for astrological use. The program has technical tools that are not so easily found and used in commercial for-purchase astrological software packages. There is also an on-line community that is found on Yahoo called Riyal compute.
You can download this technical software at the following URL

Thanks, Dave! This is great. The software may be a little primitive-looking on the surface, but it seems to be packed with features and functionality and should deliver exactly what I'm looking for. (Fixed URL: http://www.expreso.co.cr/centaurs/riyal.html)
