In my tarot bag along with my deck I have a small tumbled hematite and a fabulous two-inch disc of irridescent labradorite. The two sides are very distinct, one clearer and brighter, the other more moody.

I picked these because they spoke to me and then looked up the strengths in The Crystal Bible, a handy little book. Any insights on these stones would be appreciated. Thanks!

These seem like great stones to have with your tarot. I find labradorite to be immensely "magical," or spiritual, or whatever word you would like to use. I personally connect it to all sorts of spiritual work, whether it is meditation, dreamwork, divination... Hematite is, above all else, grounding (in my experiences, and for most people I know, at least). Many who hold it feel immediately more "down to earth," and so if you are doing intuitive, upper-chakra work, this is a good stone to have near in order to keep you rooted and steady.

Labradorite brings me such joy, just looking at it :) Hematite is a little too much for me, personally- it makes me feel a bit heavy. I've held it to get to sleep, and to keep my body temperature down, but during the day it just weighs me down a little too much. BUT, in conjunction with labradorite, it sounds like a great tool, and if you are drawn to it immediately, then you probably are more inclined to work better with it than I am!

I have the same feeling about Labradorite, it is not my birthstone but I don't get tired of the beautiful colours coming out of this stone.

I did not think of using it for my decks so far I only use Amethyste.
