I'm just thinking out loud.....
I've been thinking about what would have made it easier for me when I first joined. I had loads of questions that if I had not been as assertive [read 'bolshy'] as I am, I would have been reluctant to ask. I spent a great deal of time surfing the archives - and very valuable that was too, and still is - to find answers to 'beginner' questions.
It seems to me that there's so much invaluable information contained within some very experienced/advanced threads and posts. I know it would be an impossible task to separate those out so.....
I wonder if it would be helpful for newbies to have a board where simple questions could be asked - a kind of expanded FAQ - e.g. how to shuffle, what the abbreviations mean, etc.
My main concern at making this suggestion is that it might imply elitism. I love the democracy of this forum - I would hate it if there was a board for wise elders, where I felt I couldn't jump in and ask questions/ make comments that might be perceived as too simple.
As I said, just thinking out loud....
