yahooo!!! thanks for the new game, BA. and NOT A FREAK!?? interesting--coming from you! ;)

using the Gilded Tarot-
4cups, page of cups, emperor, king of wands rx
the 4 and the page came out together--and so, I believe the first two are telling us this woman was young looking or at least when she was a young woman she was someone beautiful and probably used her beauty to further herself. someone everyone loved. being next to the emperor and then the king of wands rx, perhaps there was a man - her father?-- older then she who was very controlling of her. it's interesting to me how the emperor is looking towards the first two cards and the page of cups is looking right back at him. so, if it is not her father--then someone she was probably in love with--or at least felt a great deal for. the king of wands rx would also suggest that he was very protective or at least very controlling of her. he may have been overly protective or even jealous of the attn. she received.

tower, knight of cups, 5 cups
well, looks like she had some major tragedy strike. I think it was a love affair that went bad. perhaps the knight left her--and she fell apart from it. lots of despair there with that 5 of cups as the last card here.

lots of cups through out this reading so far, and I feel it is all about a love affair. was it an affair that was doomed from the start? probably with someone that was married, or was she already married--to that king?

8swords rx, 10 cups rx, hermit rx
the 8 of swords rx being next to the 10 of cups rx makes me feel like her life fell apart completely and she felt like she was lost completely. she really suffered from this. it wrecked her whole life. I think she ended up being alone--which is the hermit--and never again saw the light--so to speak. she became 'old news' and was over. perhaps she even took her own life? or at least she hid from it after the tragedy struck.

no ideas.

No she was not a freak, but of course with my people there's always something.....

Yes, there was always a youthfulness about her, and she definitely stood next to an Emperor-type, although not literally. Good! Yes, there were two men in the sense she had an affair when she was in her midlife which hurt her husband. He never got over it, but he did worse than she ever did- affairwise. This affair is little known and won't help you guess her, although she is well known- this part of her life is not.

tower, knight of cups, 5 cups
well, looks like she had some major tragedy strike. I think it was a love affair that went bad. perhaps the knight left her--and she fell apart from it. lots of despair there with that 5 of cups as the last card here.

Yes, a big tragedy, and one of the main reasons people know her is because of this tragedy. Someone was lost to her that she cared about, it affected her entire life and was pretty awful.

lots of cups through out this reading so far, and I feel it is all about a love affair. was it an affair that was doomed from the start? probably with someone that was married, or was she already married--to that king?

yes, there was an affair that her husband never got over and perhaps punished her with, by having more affairs himself, but this is not well known and won't help you guess her. She had lots of emotional turmoil- both of the best and worst kind.

8swords rx, 10 cups rx, hermit rx

Her problems did affect her greatly, and she hid most of them from the public. She probably suffered from this constant hiding, but it never really showed and you would not today call her defeated in any way. She is looked on in a positive light for her many accomplishments. I think she was quite alone in later life in many ways. She certainly "fell" out of the news, but probably to her great relief. She did not take her own life- and lived quite old.

Very good reading Celt! You are beginning to define her and quite well- she is well known and I feel sure you know her, but not often thought of- lots to pick up on though!

Dead woman- not a freak. Tough one.

Whoooo hoooooo!!!

Hi BA!!!

10 of swords * Devil
oooooo well this woman had some demons!! Oh Boy! She was tormented. It had to do with her self image. She had a distorted sense of reality and of who she was. She had some tough mental issues.

Princess of wands * King of cups
I think she began fine and dandy but something happened along the way. Either something with her Dad or something with a man in her life that went wrong and twisted her.

5 & 8 of Cups
She was a very emotional woman. Definitely got lost a lot....

Base Ace of swords
Well she definitely was a smart cookie! Sharp minded. Razor sharp even wtih the mental defects....

What did she do? 6 of Swords * Tower * Ace of wands
She was revolutionary! She was also a lightening rod! Great energy! Great passion and emtions.... the thing this woman lacked was grounding! She had none.... so she was probably a genius of sorts! That fine line between genius and crazy! She definitely tipped the scale on the latter more often than not!

I don't know who she is .... I get tortured poet or writer....like sylvia plath or someone of that sort! That poet that killed her self... Browning or Ayn Rand... someone deep and tortured with a great skill to write about pain.

thanks for the game...OK I'm going to post really quickly before I go to work!

What was her job?

Princess of Wands reversed; 7 Swords; 9 cups: I think she was searching for happiness - perhaps she wasnt famous so much for her job but her more traditional role as a woman. She had to find herself before she could be of service to those she loved.

What was she famous for?

Wow - The tower; 7 wands reversed; chariot: I think she was famous for crisis in her personal life - she had a period where it looked like she would fail but she stayed strong and came through.

How did she die?

Ace of wands; 7 pentacles; queen of swords: I think she died doing something she loved, or at a time when she was passionate and happy with her life. What she had worked for was starting to come to fruition and she was respected as a strong independent woman. I think she died of natural causes - health issues.

I dont have time to try and work out who it could be!!!! I'll be interested to know whether thats anywhere close as i only had 5 mins!

Whoooo hoooooo!!!

Hi BA!!!

Hey sweet thang!

10 of swords * Devil
oooooo well this woman had some demons!! Oh Boy! She was tormented. It had to do with her self image. She had a distorted sense of reality and of who she was. She had some tough mental issues.

My gut would say she had lots of issues but she buried them or fought them in her own way. She had one big tragedy and smaller things that dogged her. You would not normaly think of her as tormented though. people think of her as strong, wise, placid. Perhaps she was pounded into strength like steel, but she is thought of as warm.

Princess of wands * King of cups
I think she began fine and dandy but something happened along the way. Either something with her Dad or something with a man in her life that went wrong and twisted her.

Her man both elevated her and tormented her I believe. The princess of wands and the knight of cups in Celts reading are the same person I think, don't want to say more yet...

5 & 8 of Cups
She was a very emotional woman. Definitely got lost a lot....

Yes, very true. Good!

Base Ace of swords
Well she definitely was a smart cookie! Sharp minded. Razor sharp even wtih the mental defects....
Yes, bright and accomplished. many talents and a good mind.

The tower in both you and Celts readings is the same event and it shook her to her foundations. It was an awful situation made worse and worse and never really resolved entirely. She was the first woman to do a certain thing, but this is probably not what she is most famous for. She eventually grounded herself, but it must have been very hard.

I don't know who she is .... I get tortured poet or writer....like sylvia plath or someone of that sort! That poet that killed her self... Browning or Ayn Rand... someone deep and tortured with a great skill to write about pain.

Yes! She used great skill to write about her pain, but she did not actually write about IT specifically. I think she grounded herself and healed herself with a famous book she wrote. She was a writer- but famous for much much more.

Not Sylvia ( who I did already once) or Ayn, but there are similarities.
You are on her!

This is true. Although she was accomplished on many levels, she is perhaps best known as wife and mother. Oddly. Known for her role as a woman is a particularly good description. She is also known to have "found herself" and her legacy has helped others to also do so through her writing.

What was she famous for?

Wow - The tower; 7 wands reversed; chariot: I think she was famous for crisis in her personal life - she had a period where it looked like she would fail but she stayed strong and came through.

Exactly so- she is really known for that Tower event which you have all drawn this card for! She made it through but it was pretty awful.

How did she die?

Ace of wands; 7 pentacles; queen of swords: I think she died doing something she loved, or at a time when she was passionate and happy with her life. What she had worked for was starting to come to fruition and she was respected as a strong independent woman. I think she died of natural causes - health issues.

She lived old and died a respected woman for her strength and wisdom. Shedied f typical old age health issues- strokes followed by pneumonia. She was a stoic woman.
I dont have time to try and work out who it could be!!!! I'll be interested to know whether thats anywhere close as i only had 5 mins!

A very good read on her!

What was her main source of fame?

6 of wands * Death * 8 of cups

princess of wands is the base! This has to be her - it shows a young girl, blond curls checking out a newly hatched alligator or dinosaur or something of that nature....and the dino is looking up at the girl as if she is his Mom. Sweet. 3 butterflies so there is transformation in the air and movement and creativity and hope and new life.... this is her.... such promise and such potential.

now back to the 3 cards ...... she was transformational.
This has to be the love tragedy that you are speaking of.... The death card is a definitive end - the 8 of cups is her being lost in thought.... her leaving what she had to but being lost in thought....the figure is purple - the color of lent.... color of power and wealth, royalty, psychic pathways... I think she internalized a lot.... she felt things on a different level....a psychic level. The trigger to all of this was the relationship and the sudden end of it!

I have no idea what she did for a living or what she did to be famous.

She was well love as a child and it could be her- but it could also be her own child especially given the cards in your reading.

I think you have pulled PERFECT cards for what she is famous for, but not your interp- they are perfect in the order you laid them out, but in one way the princess could be her and her struggle in her life- but is probably not her, but someone close to her.
You are totally correct about her- but you haven't quite got her.

Wow, long time no see:)

Dead female...
What is her message?
Ace of Swords, Temperance, Justice
I think she wasn't a writer of fiction or poetry. She wrote essays, drawn from academic training and are basically motivational and healing, with a tinge of feminism. It's all about balance.

Would like some information that hasn't turned up yet:
6 wands, 9 swords RX, Ace of wands
Everything is all very bright and motivational. I think I might find her picture on a self-help website or something of the sort. A lot of empowerment. She's sort of a "don't think too much, just do it" type. She shows a lot of care for children, especially their worries and concerns, the psychological aspects.

I'm getting someone like Montessori but I think she doesn't fit the other readings...

You have this EXACTLY right. She is known for one major piece of writing which was motivational and healing, but not in the way that "motivational" is now viewed by TV motivationalists. It was widely published and still is in print, years after it was written. Tinge of feminism is correct- Balance is correct- yes

She might be on some website- but she lived and died before websites were a thing. There is a thing between her and children, and one child in particular- but it did not have to do with her famous book, except indirectly. She never had a real "job". She was a 'before her time' sort of woman especially when she was young and less "beaten up" by life.

I'm getting someone like Montessori but I think she doesn't fit the other readings...

Not Maria Montessori, but I actually have her on my list. We think a lot alike Saturninebird! They lived during the same time period. Montessori was about 30 years older.

virginia woolf? nope---forget this one--she committed suicide, and upon re-looking through all your feedback our MP didn't commit suicide. so, I believe this MP is Emma Goldman!

blackairplane
30-03-2009, 09:31
Nope- Not Emma. This MP was a much more refined, quiet sort, not the anarchist type. They lived during the same era though- but I can imagine that Emma and this MP would have not had much to agree on. Though I have not been able to research this, I would guess Emma might have been inclined to support someone who was accused as doing something bad to my MP's family.

ah, I think I've got her now. Anne Morrow Lindbergh.

though, honestly I didn't even know she was a writer!

blackairplane
30-03-2009, 23:58
Yeah Celt!!!! You are the winner.
Yup she was a writer. I thin she wrote a dozen books but the most famous was " Gift From the Sea" which is still in print in a zillion languages and has sold millions of copies- God knows why- I personally think it is sort of smarmy.
She was the first woman to obtain a glider pilots license, and of course was an early female pilot. Married to Emperor Charles Lindbergh the family suffered a huge loss when their first son was kidnapped and killed as an infant. The kidnapping case was front page news for a long while and went thrugh all sots of bizarre twists and turns. There are still some today who believe that an intimate family member actually killed the child. It was sort of like the Jon benet Ramsey case in a way of its time. So thats the Tower everyone drew.
She had an affair with her doctor in the 1950s and indbergh himself had a longtime affair with 2 women and fathered a bunch of children with them.
She didn't have a thrilling life, in many ways.
You got her Celt!

well, thanks to google, I got her. :P

when I guessed Emma and you mentioned our MP was in the same era as Emma, then it was easy. as soon as I googled female authors for that time period--and saw her name, I thought 'hmmm....is this the wife of the famous Lindbergh?" googled her, and wola! I knew it was her. didn't realize she lived in VT in her last days though. interesting.

as I mentioned before, I didn't know she was a writer, nor a pilot either! she was actually an interesting woman---right up your alley, BA! not a freak--but interesting in a different way.

I recall hearing that some believe now that her husband, Charles was responsible for the kidnapping and the unfortunate death of the child. I recall seeing that on a documentary on television years ago. It sounded very plausible---and though we'll never know for sure, I do lean towards him as well after that show. if I remember the show correctly, Charles climbed the ladder from outside to 'steal' the baby, as a trick on his wife. hid him, in the woods or something, but unfortunately the child died and then he panicked. Of course, no-one suspected him at all then--he was too widely known and respected. And, I'm sure the fear and upset over what occurred kept him from ever revealing his secret. sad thing.

Okay! I'll host the next game! It may take me awhile, but it'll be up today sometime. :D

I never heard that before, but given the way he treated his mistresses' children, he didn't have much respect for children, so it could be true. He seems like a bit of a creep. I also heard that she had a neer-do-well brother, and one or the other of them had a retarded sister that some figure could have been the culprits and it was covered up.
