9 of swords question - Rider Waite

just looking at the 9 of swords and not sure if anyone has noticed this, but if u look at the way the swords handle peice overlaps the other swords, there are 3 swords locked into place making it really hard to pull out while the others can be slide to up or down to move out of place... lol just thought it was interesting

I'm not sure that I understand what you're getting at though. All of the cards look 'locked into place' to me. I think they've just been arranged so that their handles interlock and the 9 swords form parallel lines.

Could it be that the way they are positions is saying that you need to know which sword needs to be pulled in order to overcome the hardship?
