Hi QofS,

So happy to be partnered with you!

our spread for this month is:

Here's how she describes it:
It is a spread to clarify where you are now with a current situation. You’d think you would KNOW where you are right now but sometimes a current situation has you fooled or you might be looking at it from the wrong angle. So, this spread is kind of like the ”X” on those maps you see on the walls (or in a stand) in shopping malls, airports or museums that says: YOU ARE HERE. It is weird but it is so easy to get turned around in places like that and when you look at the map and see the X to show where you are - many times, it isn’t where you wanted to be!
Life is like that, too - you think you know where you are but sometimes you don’t. Once in a while you get turned around and even though you think you know what is going on with a situation that is happening, you don’t. This spread will help clarify the present and help you decide if you are where you think you are.

First, chose a significator card from the deck - something that has to do with the current situation you are wondering about. Put it in the center of the spread and then chose four more cards to make an X. I read the diagonal line from the Top Right first and then the diagonal line from the Top Left. I do it this way because that is how I make an X - start at the upper right.

2………1
…..S……
3………4

As always, the significator is personal preference, to be decided between you and your partner.

I am debating whether or not to send my daughter back to school for the remaining 2 weeks. She has been ill with the flu. She came down with it last friday during school and the teacher told her that "if you aren't hurt, bleeding or throwing up I don't want to hear about it!" and told her to go back to her seat..... I sent a letter to the principal but she hasn't called! She is a waste of time!

So I am angry and would like to see what comes up for this situation.

Is that cool?

How about you? What should I focus on for you?

Hey, Franniee,

This is fun! I only have a few minutes before I run to work, but I wanted to let you know that I'm very happy to read for you this round and glad to have an issue to focus on, although I'm sorry you're having this situation with the teacher and principal at your daughter's school.

My experience over the span of 30+ years of having children in school is that there was never any problem as long as I stayed out of it and let the teacher do what she/he wanted -- it never happened! I could tell you stories about incompetent, misguided teachers from K to 12 that would curl your hair! I shudder to think what happens to students who don't have an active parent-advocate in their corner. I think I know -- they get discouraged and drop out. Anyway, I was always so relieved when my children would have a year with the good teachers -- empathetic, fair, competent, knowledgeable, able to communicate with parents and children. It's a tough job, I know, but so is growing up, and a good or poor teacher can make all the difference in the world -- especially in elementary school.

Okay, I want to use the Roads No. 22 for your significator since you are in a debate with yourself about sending your daughter back to school for the last two weeks. Does that sound right? I haven't done many Lenormand readings, so, I'm open for suggestions...

Running to work now, be back tonight or early Sat.

Hi QofS,

I actually sent my daughter to school on friday - no fireworks. Her last week is this week coming up and I don't expect any trouble.... How about a reading about how her next year will be? I am hoping for an easy breezy first grade year..... maybe how I can prepare her for a stellar year?

How about you Queenie.... you never gave me a focus? I can try a general if you want?

Let me know I'll do it tomorrow AM,

Perfect! I'm really glad everything worked out well for the ending of this school year, and I will focus on your preparations for a stellar new school year for your daughter. It sounds like the Child would still work best as the significator for your reading -- just let me know if you'd like something else.

I would actually like to get a general reading, because I realize that I have no idea what to focus on! I am without a rudder at this time... :bugeyed: Yes, the more I think about it, the more I'd love to know where I am, actually. :D What about the No. 22 - The Roads for my significator?

Thanks, and I'll be reading tomorrow a.m., too.

Peace.

Q:spade:
It seems like your thoughts are niggling at you. The Mice are chomping away at your serenity. You have strong and good friends. You have the power and wherewithall to do whatever it is you set your mind to. You need to take a moment and think..... get lost in your dreams and recover them. I think you have been running here and there - scurrying like a mouse and skittishly I might add....when you should be lumbering more like a bear. Slow and methodically - also bears play and they seek gratification. Have you forgotten what makes you smile? It's time to gather those things.... honey? anyone? Because it is also time for you to hibernate a bit. Too much skitting around - it is time for you to chill and think. The key to your path is your home. Seems to me you need a calm soothing place for you to blossom. I don't think you have been paying attention to your soul and to you blossoming.... you need a rest. A staycation..... a vacation at home....possibly in your garden or in your kitchen baking and cooking..... what domestic things do you enjoy? Is there something you want to fix up in your home? Can you make it more comfy for you? This will be a quiet meditative task.

The base card is the stork...You will take a journey but I believe it will be inward. A soul's path journey. Your home is blessed - it is your sanctuary but I do feel it needs your attention - your house is an allegory for yourself. Time to renovate a bit....hibernate and contemplate. Lots of ATEs

I hope that helps Q:spade:

Hi franniee,

I used a French Cartomancy deck for your reading, and I laid the cards out this morning:

,,,,,,,,,,,(2),,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,(1)
,,,35. The Anchor,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,31. The Sun
,,,,(9 of Spades),,,,,,,,,,,,,,(Ace of Diamonds)

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,13. The Child
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,(King of Spades)

,,,,,,,,,,,,(3),,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,(4)
28. The Gentleman,,,,,,,,,,,,,,23. The Mice
,,,(Ace of Hearts),,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,(7 of Clubs)

I uncovered the cards one by one and considered them along the way:

The Child has a stern, yet nurturing, protector in the King of Spades -- her father or you, perhaps?

1. The Sun is rising in the Ace of Diamonds -- everything wonderful is possible!

3. The Gentleman, standing under the Ace of Hearts. Everything is possible with love. I again get the feeling this is her father.

2. The Anchor, which you can see represented in the middle of the 9 of Spades. If this card were beneath The Child, I would say she needs more of a sense of home, place, grounding, or at least that she has enough. However, appearing above her, it feels like too much... too heavy.

4. The Mice. The 7 of Clubs shows an impediment, too, but it appears near the top of the card -- one big push, and you're through. These mice aren't in the kitchen, they're outside, which is good unless you think of hoardes and plagues of mice, overwhelming the fields, eating every last bit of anything... eeek! Yep, that's how worry can overcome a person -- a few mice become legion.

My sense is that the path indicated by The Anchor and The Mice feels like too much worry about holding on, which may slow down or even quash The Child's exuberance. Of course, that would be a shame, because she is having fun being outside -- playing and rolling the hoop. She is well-dressed for play, obviously well-cared-for and obviously enjoying herself. She is drawing on the rising sun's energy. Best of all, she is protected, loved and lifted in card No. 28, which is a perfect way to start a new school year. I have been feeling like No. 28 is her father, but in retrospect it could be her new teacher, as well.

The base card is No. 10, The Sickle and the Jack of Diamonds, which depicts the end of an old cycle and the beginning of the new. It shows a harvest, which is essential and becomes the foundation for the next, and the next...

Thank you very much for being my (very patient) sitter, franniee. I hope you enjoyed this reading, and I'll be back later...

ETA:

What I wanted to say, but didn't quite have the words and had to run out the door to get to work only 15 minutes late, was this...

Thank you very much for being my (very patient) sitter, franniee. I hope you enjoyed this reading, found it useful and will take it with a grain of salt -- because I am very new and raw and just trying to find my voice (so to speak). If you feel that I've been too blunt or gotten too personal or strayed too far afield, I would really, really appreciate hearing that feedback, because for the first time ever, I read the cards and wrote the reading within a space of 45 minutes, instead of the usual 3 or 4 days, and now I'm scared...

Peace out.

Thank you Q:spade:
The teachers for first grade seem to be a good bunch overall. The one I would prefer and the one I hope we will get is stern but nurturing. So good pick up. My husband and I are not stern. :D Probably should be but we missed that gene. We are trying to be more schedule oriented and rewards and consequences oriented....so far so good - but this is only day 5. We are giving her more grounding now and I think it is working for her. I have seen a vast improvement on her behavior but I think the fac that she was out for 2 weeks sick could have been a big reason for her acting up too.

I am hoping that she gets placed well in september so we can have an easy breezy year! I can't have another year like this one so I will concentrate on the sun and not the mice. :D

Thank you very much! OH and I used Isabel's Traum for your reading.

Your reading helps a lot, franniee, and it's very accurate.

Spring cleaning didn't happen this year -- like it usually does, and I feel like I'm chasing my tail with a million other things to do. Well, I have another 4-day weekend coming up (just had one but accomplished nothing inside the house), however, DH wants to go off and "do something" -- the stork! Well, maybe we can cut a deal... :D

It was interesting to me how you contrasted the activities of bears and mice, connected the bear with the house and then zeroed in on the house, and you were correct. Plus, you warned me about the mice and tree in a positive way.

Thank you for this reading, franniee. :)

Blessed be.
