Hello, my name is JennyFunk, and I am a noob! lol! I've been checking things out, own a handful of stones, and very interested. A few friends here have helped a bunch, and I'm ready for more!

I am moving this weekend(new chapter in my life!!!!!) and to celebrate I'm leaning towards gifting myself a sphere. Now, what would be a good one to start with. I have no over-bearing themes that I'd like to deal with...just a general sphere to perhaps meditate with. I'm leaning towards a smokey quartz or I've seen a very nice jasper-esque one. Let me know your thoughts. Any other suggestions are super!

I assume that you are looking to do some scrying? My take (and I'm far from an expert) is that a clear rock quartz sphere is ideal for a first sphere. It is the sphere you want if you will only have one. For me, natural quartz is essential (nothing "fused" or "reconstituted").

You don't want anything cloudy. Some inclusions are
ideal.

I started scrying with a clear quartz sphere. Later I got an Amethyst one for its properties of aiding intuition, meditation, and psychism. I think either would be a good choice. But really, anything which "calls out to you" would be the best choice!
