what the cards told of or warned, did it come true?

ladyofhearts

what are some of your experiences with readings where the cards told you what was likely to happen or warn you of what was likely to happen and it came true? or if you did a reading for someone else and the answer came true in this instance. i did a reading for myself onetime, when i was VERY new to tarot. i had lost contact with an old friend of mine, and decided to contact her. the cards coming up were, death, 10 of swords, etc. not good. i then asked when i contact her will she respond back to me. i got the knight of pents. now, this guy is slowwwww moving and kind of a plodding, gloomy guy to me. this told me she will contact you back, only it will be slow. and, she is not all that happy really to hear from you. and, she is thinking practically. at least that is how i read it. well, against my better judgment i contacted her. took her several days to respond (little background here..we had lost contact because of somethings she had said to me, confusing, mindgames, i wasn't really sure of her friendship, so i axed it with her). trying to make amends, or at least break the ice and talk. well, it started out real friendly, and fun. but, pulling the cards again to see how it all will go, i get the 5 of swords, 8 of swords, ace of swords, knight of swords, page of swords, mostly swords. i was like,"what?' we continued talking, being friends and no problems. she had to go on a work-related trip and told me she would contact me soon. i never heard from her for 2 months. the work trip was only for 2 weeks. calling i got the machine. i heard from friends she was ok healthwise. no probs. didn't really want to stop by her house at this point. now, this i found strange...instead of coming to my home, or calling me, a total of 3 mos later, she emailed me. telling me she had other work related trips to go on, and had been out of town visiting her mom. (i knew this was not true). she sent me 2 long emails. when i responded back, she ignored me. i tried two times, ignored. that was it for me! i was done. i trusted her and she deliberately decieved me. never heard from her again. i guess she had an axe to grind over the past and this was her way of, "getting even." the 5 of swords, and the knight of swords were on repeat...WHY DID I NOT LISTEN? i think cause when i first contacted her, we were like old buddies again..i thought the cards were rubbish..BOY, was i wrong. never again! anyone elses experiences?????

I don't do readings for myself anymore, unless is to get guidance on a specific issue and I have to be unable to wait for a reading by someone else. I have a tarot reader i go to who is 99.99% accurate.

I got laid off last November, and have been job hunting ever since. A couple of people did readings for me last spring saying that I would be getting a job in the fall. It's September, and I just got a call on Friday letting me know that I was hired.

How do you measure that?

I get a lot of feedback from clients that things have played out pretty much as I suggested they would. Sometimes it takes time, even decades - a friend in the early eighties told me I'd have a golden cypress tree around me. I dislike foreign conifers for the harm they do to our soils and think yellowish trees look unhealthy, so I wasn't expecting it to happen. In 2001 I moved into a house with a golden cypress either side of the front gate and without remembering the reading until a few months later.

I got a relationship reading. We had been together for 3 years so when I pulled the cards that screamed that we were going to break up due to weird and disturbing situations caused by him I said ok I can't read for myself. We broke up a few months later and I had totally forgotten about the reading.

That was for myself. For other people I've gotten a lot of positive feedback (as well as not so accurate ones)

I dread the Tower card- literally every time I have pulled this card for myself, something came along that pulled the rug out from under my feet. I pulled it a week ago and within a few days, our home was burglarized and I found out one of my coworkers was arrested for child porn. Yikes. Off the top of my head, that's the most obvious example for myself.

mostly yes, or why would you read for people or go for readings?

its always good when people tell you how accurate you were also, but obviously most of the time you dont see them again to know if it came true.

Don't dread it - thank it.

Would you rather it never warned you, and you didn't have time to brace yourself and get ready?

That is very true. I have to remind myself these things would happen anyway. :) You are right, there is definitely some value in being able to brace yourself.
