Need Decorating Ideas!

Last year, I read at a womens only expo here and the theme was Paris. Easy enough...

I'm in again this year and assumed that the theme was Paris every year... Discovered today that is not true. This year's theme is Hawaiian!

So, I'm looking for ideas to decorate my popup Hawaiian!!

Personally, I think the raffia table skirt looks really stylish! As well as the thatched umbrella!

And there is a link where you can get big luau banners with a personalized message (Aloha Readings )

Then there are these things called scene setters - plastic on a roll with printed scenes like beaches, palm trees, tiki houses...

I used those for a Pirate themed party and it looked really cool.

Hibiscus. Sarongs. Frangipannis. Bananas. Pineabbles. Pictures of beaches. Wear a Hawaiian shirt. Vapourise coconut oils for the ambient smell. Hideous stereotyping, but it'll work.

Sarongs are nice. Hawaiian shirts are nice too. Buuuut how about Tiki lamps on poles, and a big Kon-Tiki idol or Easter Island statue (I know not Hawaiian but it would be fun). Perhaps a huge backwall photo of the volcano where the Goddess Pele sleeps. Exotic flowers and oh yes, don't forget the leis.

This party supply site may give you some ideas. I really like the paper pineapples.

You must must must have Tiki gods... and drink mai tai's in their honor.

Oh, and you have to use the Gauguin deck, with all its lovely Pacific Islander images.
