Ever notice (name of celebrity) looks like (image from Tarot card)?

This has been bugging me for about twenty some-odd years now.

Ritchie Blackmore bears a suspicious resemblance to the Magician from the Rider-Waite Tarot deck. What's going on here?

<shrug> Who's Richie Blackmore? (no, I don't really want to know).

You can see resemblences anywhere. The guy in the Cosmic Deck's Two Pentacles looks almost photographically like a guy I used to work with whom I know for a fact only ever lived in Scotland and Australia, and I'm pretty sure that Lorsche didn't search Scotland and Australia for models when he was making this deck.

Oh and (dearly departed) Farrah Fawcet (all the Angels, really) turns up repeatedly in the Robin Wood. Just check out that ridiculous Wheel of Fortune! (though I kind of love it in a "fabulous" sort of way.)

There are so many I've thought of before. Gotta check when I get home later.

Yes, and I'm going to tell you anyway, since you spelled his name wrong :p.

Ritchie Blackmore is the coolest right-handed white guy ever to sling a Fender Stratocaster over his shoulder. He was the guitarist in Deep Purple and Rainbow.

And Rainbow did a song called "Tarot Woman".

Hillary Clinton as the Emperor and Sarah Palin as the Hierophant (or so they say) in the Vanessa. Shania Twain as the Fool in the Vanessa. Stephen King on some card (sorry, can't remember) in Robin Wood.

I'm sure there are more.

George Bush is the Fool in the Gilded Tarot. (How appropriate. :p ) And Elizabeth Taylor is the Queen of Wands (if I remember right).

Seriously, though, there are billions of people in the world and in my (almost) 64 years, I've found that not only are there many people who look almost exactly alike, those who look alike often have the same first name. Spooky!

It's not surprising to me that there are cards with people who look like someone famous or someone you know.

Ritchie Blackmore and Candice Night seem to appear in Raven Grimassi's "Well Worn Path" cards as well. Although Candice has been given red hair in place of her usual blond.
