Thank-you so much, I really appreciate having this list!
Thank you Jema!
I haven't received the deck yet, it will still take some time, but it will be good to have the keywords with it!
Thanks alot Jema
I'm printing it out as we speak. I think working with this deck will become much easier :)
i am just glad to be able to help out. i had been talking about making this list forever but once i sat down and did it it just took my a few minutes:)
and yes, generous is there twice.
generositet and givmildhet are the swedish words and they really mean the same thing.
Thanks from me, too, Jema!
I just got this deck (courtesy of our fabulous Faunabay! Kisses to her... :* :* :* ) and these keywords will be a big help.
I really like the majors! The minors will be a little more work to understand, but I'm enjoying the process so far. I like all the animals that are shown throughout the deck, too.
But I do have a question...what are those rather shapeless little creatures that are on such cards as: Mynt Prinsen (Prince of Coins), Stjarnan (Star), Ess av Mynt (Ace of Coins)? They are rather cute, kinda round and squishy looking, but what are they supposed to be? ;)
Anyway, thanks again!
Peace,
Melvis

I love the deck, the list really helps.
thanks jema! didn't have a chance yet to work with the deck but i really plan too asap!

Yay!
The postman just woke me up (barely got any sleep last night, due to a very dramatic thunder storm) and handed me this lovely little parcel that contained the Swedish Witch tarot!
First impression: great deck, just different enough to make it challenging, but definately one I'm going to work with! I also see quite some Thoth influences, which makes me happy, because I'm trying to limit my collection to Thothy decks.... (yeah, right...!) :D
I printed all the keywords, they are going to be a big help.
Thank you for translating, Jema!
just bumping this one up since I saw it mentioned in another thread.
oh and I just bought a new copy of it myself (after having traded it away to kissa recently)
Thank you, Jema! I recently purchased this deck from Faunabay, to whom I am very grateful -- it's gorgeous, fun and wise, all at the same time. I so appreciate your posting these keywords.

I had lost my sheet with the translation of the keywords and did a search to find this thread again.
There has been some talk about this deck lately, so maybe this is also useful for people who have missed this thread.
Thanks Wolfspirit for reviving this thread.
I just got this deck yesterday (thankyou so much Eco74) :)
The keywords do make some of the more obscure cards a litlle easier to understand.
I'm looking forward to many happy hours trying to work out what this deck is saying to me - I quite like the fact that I don't understand the keywords as it'll make me read this deck intuitively.
It's a lovely deck :)
Love

Yes it's a lovely deck isn't it ?
It has a sense of humor and a language (so to speak) all of its own :D

Oh! Thank you for bumping this up ... I got this deck from a kind AT'er not long ago, so this is a big help.
I got my deck from Jema (I wonder where she's gone) as I did not get that deck here in Germany.
@magpie: did you try tarotgarden or one of our Scandinavian members?
I tried tarotgarden, but their out of stock at the moment, and not reordering just now. It'll be a bit of a wait--
*Wait!! Oh NO!! cries magpie, tearing at her hair in a frenzy of impatience*
--so I thought I'd see if there was a faster way. Actually, I'm waaay in the dark on this one, I don't even know ho much they cost....
I'v been given some good information for locating one here (thanks, all) but haven't pursued it yet, been busy.
So how much do they cost these days??
But I do have a question...what are those rather shapeless little creatures that are on such cards as: Mynt Prinsen (Prince of Coins), Stjarnan (Star), Ess av Mynt (Ace of Coins)? They are rather cute, kinda round and squishy looking, but what are they supposed to be? ;)
They're the stone people, representatives of all the mountains and jewles and whatnot, they're the keepers of memory and energy, they hold all the knowledge of all time in them. Rosie associates them with the skelleton and consiousnes of ones body.
The cost of a deck is about the cost of the postage if done the public way..
Not that expensive and certainly cheaper than most decks, though since it has no LWB or foreign languages I guess that cuts costs a bit.
In current rates its just under 14 Euro or just under 17 US dollars - which is the local price including shipping from the online bookstore I use so there are variations and it would cost more if ordering to another country due to foreign shipping. Also, if someone local would send it on there would be additional shippingcosts for passing it on to whereever in the world it would be passed on to.. Could be a couple of euros or more depending on distance and type of shipping chosen.
Thank you, Eco, for that information. It gets me a step closer to my copy. :)

Thanks for that aibhlin. I noticed they were mainly on the pentacle cards. And I also noticed them with jewels on one of the cards (I think Star).
They're such cute little fellas :D
Hello everyone, I am just curious, does anybody outthere have this deck with card-names and keywords in English on the cards? According to the publisher the deck is only available in Swedish, but perhaps somebody else has been informed differently?
Mine is also the Swedish edition.
I think the deck is either not mainstream enough for an English translation or there are license or publishing rights or whatever which may prohibit that.
As far as I know the only available version is swedish, and I also don't think there are any translations of the companion book.
It's a great book though, and a wonderful deck too so it would probably do well internationally if translated.

I'm the one who's been working on a trade for the Swedish Witch Tarot Jolanda den Tredjes with Katitzi and she has gone way out of her way to find me a copy of the legendary English version to send instead of the Swedish one in her collection, but to no avail. Apart from wanting to thank her publicly for all her efforts (which include contacting Jolanda directly!) I wanted to make it clear to all, including myself, that there is no English version of this beautiful deck. Perhaps armed with Babelfish and patience, those who really want this deck can obtain it directly from the publisher, Fischer and CO (www.fischer-co.se)
Katitzi also reports that Jolanda may join us on this thread, which would be more than nice :)

They are indeed, I adore everything by Hans Arnold. I could spend hours looking at his illustrations as a child, everthing he does is filled with detail and magic.

I don't mind not having English key words on the cards (I am used to the Swedish words now anyway) but I would so love to have a Swedish Witch companion book in a language I could read. I think it is not likely it is going to be translated...
But it would be very nice if Jolanda would join this forum :)

There is a delightful person at the publishing house who writes good English - this is where I got my deck from.
The only problem is a lack of PayPal facilities. But you can send Kroner through the post from UK using Airsure, which offers insurance up to £30.
Katitzi also reports that Jolanda may join us on this thread, which would be more than nice :)
That would be so cool!

The rumor is AGM is publishing an English version of the Swedish
Witch...I wonder if the book will ever be available in English?
Having recently received this deck (thank you WolfSpirit!) I'm
loving it very much and having fun reading it intuitively.
The keywords for the pips that Jema posted (in English)
at the beginning of this thread are very helpful too...
but I'm wondering...
Does anyone know if there are keywords (maybe in the book)
for the other (majors and court) cards as well? If there are,
could someone PLEASE post them here in English?!?!?!
If not, no big deal....the illustrations speak to me more than
most decks, and truly that's enough...but it's always nice
to have the keywords too!!

I thought as this is a very heavily Thoth-based deck, the keywords on the minors are pretty much what are on the Thoth pips.
Since the Thoth has no keywords on the Majors, and there are no keywords in Swedish on the cards in the Swedish Witch, I assume there are none?
There are keywords in the book for the majors as well but not a single one for each card, more like a list of five or six for each so quite a lot to type.
As an example the Fool has humour, courage, foolishness, trust, freedom of choice and innocence listed.

Thanks Miss 6, I realize the keywords weren't on the cards...but I was hoping maybe the book (which I don't have) would have a keyword for the majors and courts.
Thanks AngelC, sounds like there ARE keywords, but too many to type here!
Thanks for typing up the Fool's keywords!
