Hi Everyone,
Since there has been some discussion on this subject, I thought I'd made it a separate topic.
Learning to read an astrology chart takes a long time as there's lots of information to assimilate, digest and try to make sense of.
A great place to start for a beginner, is with keywords. Example:
Moon in Cancer: emotionally (because the Moon rules the emotions) sensitive, caring, sympathic (all words related to the sign of Cancer).
Venus in Saggitarius: An adventerous (Sagg word) lover (Venus).
Keep it simple! Your interpetations will grow over time. Add it keywords for the house where the planet is located.
Aspects are how one planet relates to another by degrees. When a beginner, don't fret over the actual aspect, just put the two planets together in your mind...Example:
Mercury/Uranus - An innovative (Uranus) thinker (Mercury).
Moon/Pluto - Emotionally (Moon) intense (Pluto).
Sun/Saturn - Success (Saturn) feeds the inner soul (Sun).

Venus in Sagg is a hoot! Are you a big flirt? V in Sagg loves to flirt. Also, they like an intellectual type partner and one who is outspoken and loves to travel.
Moon/Pluto is tough. The older you get, the easier this aspect is to work with. Just watch out for jealous women (friends). Moon/Pluto can attract jealous types.

I have Moon in Cancer and Pluto conjunct my Asc, Moon Sextile Pluto... "emotionally intense"... you bet! ;-)
Perhaps I should not start with my own horoscope - I can read Tarot just fine for others, but not for myself and it may be just the same with oneīs own horoscope - youīre too close to see clearly.

How do you like to read the rising sign. Some folks say that it is just as important as your Sun Sign....how do you feel here?
BTW- I'm a Libra / Sag rising.....for me this is tough.... :-)
somedays, i am more my rising sign than any other........virgo.
so i feel that it's very important.
i'm a leo sun, virgo rising and taurus moon-[that's the stubborn part] LOL

I love your name!
The rising sign is denotes how the world sees you, or how you show yourself to the world. It definitely IS very important. Some days we really are our rising signs.
Libra rising and a Sagg Sun is a beautiful combination. I would bet that you're pretty (Libra rising have some of the most beautiful faces in the world). You're air rising and a fire Sun, very powerful.

I read that the rising sign is not only about how you present yourself, but also how you see yourself - your self-image. Iīm not sure, but I think your sun-sign sort of overrides your rising sign in this regard, though. Except if your sun is weak... my sun is in the 7th house, so I tend to look for Aries in my relationships instead of being one myself ;-) (Someone more knowledgeable in Astrology correct me if Iīm wrong... AG, are you out there?)

Sagg ascendent is generally tall, athletic and outspoken. What degree is it?
Libra Sun the books say has a need for peace, HOWEVER, they can be quite the instigator and blamer! I'm sure that's not you, right Mystic?

The Leo Sun can be very, very stubborn and also a born leader. However, you must have a 12th house Sun, right? It's a "water" house, hence, you need to use your intuition. Yours is also a good combination for psychology, metaphysics and spirituality.

Aquarians are ALWAYS ahead of the times. They are original, nonconformist and often times very aloof. They walk to the beat of a different drummer, not really caring what others think.
Many of the beatnics and hippies of the 60's either were Aquarius or had strong Aquarian influences in their charts. Anyone you encounter who is quite eccentric, is probably an Aquarius (Sun, Moon or ascendant).
Being ruled by Uranus, they can be spontaneous, like here today, gone tomorrow!
First, thanks jade, handsome would be a much better description (although as a humble knight I would never describe myself as more than good looking ;-)
And AG that's ok. You had no idea?! or did you..... :-)
After taking another look at my chart it appears that I have made a little error (although little may not be the word for it) apparently I am a Libra Sun, Sagg Moon with Scorpio rising.....this sounds really ugly.....and after reading my Natal breakdown it makes more sense then I would have liked to believed....oh well, that's me... 8)
And AG...thanks, Mystic has always been how I felt....
Someone had mentioned that their Sun sign falls in one of the twelve houses....if mine falls in the 12th House what does that mean?
My Signs are at this degrees:
Sun- 00Lib50
Moon- 15Sag18
Rising- 15Sco19
What do the degree's into the sign mean...how strong the traits are with more degrees into the sign?

Hi Mystic, et al.,
We'll try this again (ahem)...
Scorpio rising is a Mystic!! Usually deep set eyes and a scary stare, always looking for the deeper meaning in life. You project a sense of power and control.
Your Sagg Moon is fun, 'cause Sagg is a fun sign. Very much into philosophy, perhaps religion(s) and a belief system. Moon in Sagg has a need (a Moon word) to explore all the dimensions of the Universe.
Your zero degree Libra Sun is most likely in your 11th house, not 12th. The Sun in the 11th takes on an Aquarius tone because it's the natural house of the Water Bearer. It adds a little zaniness to your personality.
Degrees: Each sign has 30 degrees (twelve signs times 30 equals the circle of 360 degrees). According to your zero degree Libra Sun, you were born on the first day of Libra, either 9/23 or 9/24 depending on the year of birth. You're still 100% Libra, no matter what degree. The degrees matter when looking at aspects (how one planet related to another by geometic distance) and when looking at transits (where the planets are now in relation to your birth chart). Transits are used for predictive work.
By the way, you now have the planet Pluto conjuncting your natal Moon. This will last most of next year. What does it mean you ask? Lots of stuff!! Changes in your emotions, the women in your life, etc. It's a transformational time.

In the past whenever I would read about Cancer (my sun sign) I could see some aspects that fit me but not all.
Then I had my natal chart done and found out why. My sun is Cancer, my moon is Pisces (all that water), but my rising sign is Leo. Oh, so that explains alot of it! There was my outgoing somewhat flamboyant side that I just couldn't quite understand from the Cancer sun sign.
By the way I've never had anyone tell me anything more than where the planets were. I had it done on one of the free websites. Which are great but I'd love to have someone put it all together for me sometime (when I have some extra money - yeah, right :) ) Oh well it'll happen someday.

thanks again for the website, it confirmed everything that I had produced using an astrology program....the degrees of the rising and moon sign differed a little but everything else was right on. It is very amazing how accurately the personality is charted....at least for the 3 main signs.....I feel it necessary to study this more....hmmm.

Ok, now that everyone introduces themselves astrologically, I wonīt stay behind ;-)
Aries Sun, Cancer Moon, Libra Rising (but with Pluto Conj. Asccendant)... my Sun is in the 7th house, which explains why I donīt identify with Aries. And I donīt feel like Libra, more like Scorpio... because of Pluto?

tigerlily, you got me thinking. So I pulled out my chart. My sun sign is Cancer, but cancer is also in Mercury (or the other way around?). And mercury was retrograde at that time. Would that be why I have (major) trouble expressing myself verbally? I can immediately get impressions and feelings, but have always had a hard time verbalizing them. ???

After looking at my chart I saw I also had a conj. ascend. planet - Uranus. But I really do fit with Leo quite well for the most part?? Almost equally with Cancer.

Faunababy, thereīs an interesting article about Mercury there, perhaps it can shed some light on your question... I have Mercury in Pisces and never had a problem to verbalize whatīs going on inside of me ;-)
Generally, the Khaldeans say that if a planet is retrograde, "its function symbolically runs against the natural current. Its processes may be turned inward, more or less powerfully impacting the personality, or it may find an unusual channel for outer expression. " So if you have Mercury R, you are perhaps more tuned into "receiving" than "sending"...

My capricorn sun is in the 12 th house. I have aquarius rising. And have mercury, mars, uranus, and pluto retrograde!
