Green newbie question?

I would love for you-all out there to recommend me a book - books? - for a beginner at astrology. I have some knowledge but it's scanty (compared to people here for sure!) & I know that being interested as I am in alchemy & Hermeticism, I really do need to learn at least the basics. Thanx for any help!

I'd recommend Parker's Astrology. it's big and is more than just basics, you can progress in it as well. I think its great, I remember seeing it on a must have astrology book list somewhere.

Assuming that you start with absolutely no knowledge, I'd also say that Parker's Astrology is a good start, though there's a good introductory text by Stephen Arroyo 'The Chart Interpretation Handbook'. My own favourite is Nicholas Campion's 'The Practical Astrologer' - look for second hand copies of these books on Amazon, if you're on a tight budget.
