beautiful tarot cloths

gorgeousbutterfly

Does anybody know where I can buy some very beautiful, elegant tarot cloths? and bags? Thank you.

Rob

My absolute favorite bags come from Baba Studios in Prague. I find their quality to be unmatched anywhere. You can find them at their online store here:
http://baba-store.com/
Or at their Etsy shops here:

As for spreadcloths, I made one of my own, but the other I got from Tarot Totes: http://tarottotes.com/ I also have a beautiful cotton bag and silk liner that I bought from them.

These are just the shops from which I've ordered before. There are a great many other individuals and shops that have excellent products, but these I can recommend from my personal experience. There are also many AT members here who do beautiful work in a variety of fabrics and styles; I suspect some of them will comment here in response to your question. :)

I'd agree that Tarot Totes is a great site to surf for cloths and bags, I have bought from there before, they have a fabulous selection!

Or sometimes I head to the fabric store and see what I can dig up, it can be nice finding and sewing your own, it gives it such a personal touch.

Sulis' bags are pretty sensational. Minrice ...

There are plenty of people who sew, here. Me, I can't sew a button on to save my life. I'm vastly admiring of people who can.

Tarot totes and the others mentioned are beautiful, I own many tarot totes! But, Lo Scarebeo (spelling) made a beautiful on on Llewellyn for $25, it is blue velvet with embroidered moons. Beautiful.

I make my own bags and cloths. I go to Spotlight (its a haby/craft/furnishings chain here in Australia) and I pick through the remnants bin. I have a beautiful piece of silk in watery greens with darker green overprinting that I got for $1.00 and all I had to do was hem it. I have also found small sections of velvet, satin, lace, organza and so on which I use for bags or cloths depending.

I try to match the bag to the deck so the bag for my VRG is pale pink satin inside with white lace material on the outside, Froud Fairy Oracle is in a hand dyed merino wool bag I knitted, the Pocket Goddess is in a purple velvet lined with shocking pink (almost neon) satin and so on.

The only thing I would say about cloths is make sure they don't crease badly and are easy to launder (voice of experience here...)

Oh, here's my Etsy store -

As far as cloths go I scout thrift stores for silk scarves - they're usually only a dollar. I've gotten some gorgeous scarves of all sizes & shapes.

I make my own bags - it's therapeutic and I can choose the material and any extra pieces I want to personalise the bag to match the deck it'll hold. (I don't sell mine, though, I don't make enough).

I'm suprised no-one else has mentioned it though, if you want pre-made bags - have you tried Ebay? Or even Amazon has some if you look carefully.

Sulis

I make bags and reading cloths and sell them through my website.
The cloths I make are double sided - usually cotton velvet on one side and plain cotton on the other side although I do make printed cloths too.
I also do custom silk-lined cloths where one side is either cotton velvet or printed cotton and the other side is dupion silk.
I do 2 sizes but if you want a special size I can usually oblige.
Lots of Aeclectic members use my bags and cloths and seem to like them.
Postage to the USA is usually £1 or £2 depending on the weight of the order.

Take a look: www.tarotsulis.co.uk - go to 'Handmade Tarot Bags' or 'Velvet Reading Cloths' in the drop down menu :).
