Herbs for Cauldron fire recipes

Hey guys, I just bought a decent sized cauldron to work indoors. it's about a foot tall with maybe... a 6in wide belly. I have a HUGE one that I tried working but after a revelation that it wont be acceptable for use indoors. So I finally saved up and got myself a smaller one.

But anyway, I have heard from another witch used an... alcohol based recipe using special types of herbs that allowed her to see images in the flames. I was wondering if anyone knows a recipe like this that I may try out? And How I may ask for a presence to make themselves known (if they wish to speck with me that is).

Here is a cauldron ritual that works well. We had ours outside.

1. Tomato - They are high in silver and attribute to venus.
2. Celery - nicotine, and activation of pheremones. Jupiter.
3. Onion - the most edible sulfur on the planet. Saturn/Earth.
4. Carrots - Orange as Mercury, and enabling sight by night.
5. Peppers - activate core centers of the body, sevenfold.
6. Rosemary, Oregano, and Basil - Where you find these three, evil cannot be
7. Pure Water - for the solvent of the pure spirit.
8. A fresh slain chicken, for the sacrifice of increase.
9. Rice - for all growth requires sacred grain
10. Tumeric - for the gold of the Sun shall make the blood royal

what do I do with those? dry them and then throw them all in my cauldron while it burns? Can I substitute the chicken with something else? I can't kill an animal :/. and do I dry the tomato or the tomato plants?
