View Full Version : Tarot of Sidhe readings + journeying
Hi,
I'd like to offer 2 readings where I combine pulling a card with a journey into a card to get a deeper message. It has worked well for me (see Daily Draws) but I'd like to try and see if I get the same level of insight for someone else.
All I need from you is an area of focus, a specific question is fine. It would work better if it is something related to your personal growth rather than a 'will I get the job?' type reading. Therefore, please spend time thinking about something meaningful. I will then pull a card from the Tarot of the Sidhe, see what message comes out just from looking at it and then journey into the card to converse with the being(s) shown.
The process is quite time-consuming so please don't expect something by tomorrow. :) Your reading will appear over the next couple of weeks.
I'll start with 2 people and see how it goes.

Oh Flaxen! Can I take a spot?
I am developing a close relationship with the Goddess Epona - I would like to know what Epona has to teach me about my own spiritual development and where she will take me...
is that the sort of question your after? if not, then please offer the spot to someone else :)
Sounds interesting!
I'll certainly give it a go and see what comes up. :)

Hi Flaxen, that sounds interesting. I'd like some advice on how to keep my energy balanced please, and what sort of practices might help, if that is what you had in mind?
Hi Elvenstar,
That question should work fine. :)
2 guinea pigs found :D
I will PM you when I post your reading. I should be able to get them both done in the next couple of weeks.
I am developing a close relationship with the Goddess Epona - I would like to know what Epona has to teach me about my own spiritual development and where she will take me...
OK, Inanna, here is your reading.
Card pulled: Wheel of Fortune
Initial thoughts:
There is an offering being presented, a gift to you. The storm clouds are being driven off by the figure in the background. I get the impression that this path will lead to a development in your own personal power. There is a sun rising or setting in the background. My immediate thought here is that a dawn or sunset ritual would be most beneficial to strengthen your connection. I also got the idea that you should use your drum to beat out a rhythm like horses hooves to call her in.
You should draw from the well of inspiration in the card - the lid of the well resembles a web - you will grow in your knowledge of the strands of fate and how they interconnect. There is a gift of nourishment on a deep soul level.
The journey:
I drummed a beat of horses' hooves and immediately got a vision of a tall woman, cloaked but with a mask like a horse's head. She took off the mask. These are the words spoken by the sidhe: See that figure on the hill? Look at her power! Epona will help her ride the whims of fate. Look at the strands - she will see that fate is not capricious but that acts are the result of consequence after consequence. Like a bridle, she can use these strands to follow the course she wants - to take control and direct her own fate.
The woman with the horse mask turns, crouches slightly and says 'Tell her I will help her face her nightmares and ride through the storms'.
There was a real sense of presence here and a feeling that Epona has an edge to her. The idea of facing your nightmares seems very appropriate for a goddess associated with horses. :) I'm also slightly intrigued by the acts being the result of consequences - usually you would think consequences come after an act. Maybe this is a conundrum you will come to understand. Overall, the path seems to point a growth in personal power, increasing confidence in your ability to drive away the storms, take control and direct your own course. You will gain wisdom of the web of connections which also felt quite magical to me - you could use this knowledge to create effective magic.
I hope this makes some sense to you...

Dawn is a very magical time for me, but, I rarely get to see it because Im often asleep LOL.
But I can see that maybe I do need to do some Dawn drumming to get in touch with Epona.
I do see her as a goddess of the inbetween, the horses that carry us between the worlds of faery/otherworld/upperworld/dream time etc. She covers a lot of ground, not just sovergnity which people do think of her for.
In my experince of her, its no wonder you pulled the Wheel, as she is movement, constant change, the holder of the cornucopia, the shaman who heals and the one that peers into the mists and see what is beyond the veil (especially when paired with Manannan).

I'm sure Epona is part of my soul's journey, horse energy is one of the big obstacles of this and my previous lives, and yet she keeps on giving, soul level healing.
All groovy initial thoughts :D

Firstly WOW, a sidhe with a horse mask and all that stuff! How wicked was that to get in a journey! lol. Way cool, well done you!

Actually for a long time horses are the creature of my nightmares LOL. They scare me, and yet their wisdom seems to keep coming to me in meditations and pathworkings. I dont invite them into my psyche and yet they are here - Epona is a goddess I wouldnt willingly work with, but shes here and so Im facing up to the challenge lol.
I'm also slightly intrigued by the acts being the result of consequences - usually you would think consequences come after an act. Maybe this is a conundrum you will come to understand. I like the idea of steering the edges of consequence after consequence. Something really interesting about that concept that shows a chain reaction, nothing is planned (i.e. not fate) but yet if you can see the web, and know what domino effect will happen, you can steer the path to creating the domino effect you want. Riding the waves of it (again, another Manannan idea - he keeps appearing a long side Epona to me).
Your reading has made plenty of sense, and yet at the same time, created more questions. Which is Epona - she likes her mystery, and yet so much of her, like working with horses is beyond words or understanding. You have to experience it, as cliched as that sounds.
thank you so much for your reading/journeying!!

Yes, I can see how that would apply to her. I felt a bit of a 'dark' quality to her - like she'd help you deal with deep 'stuff'.

I'd like some advice on how to keep my energy balanced please, and what sort of practices might help.
Hi,
Here is your reading. :)
Card pulled - Warrior King - Gift of Glory
First impressions: A very fiery card! Lots of active male energy here. Are you feeling passive and lethargic at the moment? Are you searching to put the spark back in and increase your energy levels?
The horse rider looks like he is putting the tip of his sword in to draw some of that power down - just a little of it will do him the world of good. His horse still has two hooves on the ground which suggests that you also need to stay grounded. The sun symbol on his head jumped out at me and made me think that you need to spend some time in the sun/daylight. Are you affected by the darkness of the winter months?
There is a paradox to the glorious sidhe - he has what look like scales on his arm which is quite a watery symbol. It made me think of light 'waves'. He has an element of emotional depth to go with his fiery spirit. It seems that this the balance you need to aim for.
The journey
I stepped into the card and spoke to the warrior on the horse. His hair stood up like an orange flame. I asked him how you could balance your energy and this is what he said:
She needs to connect to her father as well as her mother, to reach up to the sky as well as the earth below, to draw power from the sun as well as the moon. She needs to work actively with fire energy to keep a balance as she is naturally very watery. Her watery nature easily overwhelms her inner fire. She should find something she is really passionate about and pursue it with determination to give life to her creative fire.
So the advice seems to be that you need to connect more with the fire energy. This could be done simply by making sure you get to see daylight on a daily basis and to make sure you are fully grounded so that you can receive that energy. Follow a pursuit that really fires you up! This will allow your inner fire to grow stronger and lead to a more balanced energy.
Hope this makes sense. :)

Flaxen, thank you for an incredible reading. I'm sorry for the delay in writing feedback, but I needed to sit a bit on this one.

No, I'm not there at the moment. But I spent a looong time just there trying to do just that. Now that I'm out of the rut and more energetic I want to avoid going back, hence the request for this reading.
The horse rider looks like he is putting the tip of his sword in to draw some of that power down - just a little of it will do him the world of good. His horse still has two hooves on the ground which suggests that you also need to stay grounded.
I love this image and it fits the way I see/work with energy perfectly.
The sun symbol on his head jumped out at me and made me think that you need to spend some time in the sun/daylight. Are you affected by the darkness of the winter months?
This makes a lot of sense. I definitely do need more sun. I come from a sunny place originally and now live in a place that is sunlight challenged :D This does affect me somewhat, more if I'm in a fragile state.
There is a paradox to the glorious sidhe - he has what look like scales on his arm which is quite a watery symbol. It made me think of light 'waves'. He has an element of emotional depth to go with his fiery spirit. It seems that this the balance you need to aim for.
Yes, this is exactly how I see it as well and the thing I'm aiming for. I love the concept of light waves here, it really resonates with me. I'll think on this further as it seems to hold some sort of key for achieving this balance. The paradox you speak of is important too. I see myself as a 'fire' person essentially, but I do have a lot of emotional water stuff sloshing around inside me. Hence the challenge.
This advice is spot on. The watery thing plagues me, just like he said. The advice to focus on doing something I'm passionate about makes a lot of sense. It's true I'm happiest and at my general best when involved in something that gets me excited. So simple and yet I often fall into the watery depths and don't pursue anything. I think part of the problem is that I am somewhat in denial regarding my 'watery nature' for some reason, although I've lately started coming to terms with this.
I laughed when I saw the card you pulled. What I was essentially asking even though I didn't explicitly say so was how to master the fire energy. And what we got was the King of Fire, saying Just Do It!
The grounded thing here is key and very right. I do have issues with staying grounded. My fire energy tends to fluctuate wildly, from a full on blaze to ember and cinder. It seems the answer to solving this is staying grounded. Which makes perfect sense. Also the practical advice to get sunlight is great and something I can do. Doing things that fire me up, yes, I can see how that helps too. The thing is to remember to dedicate time to all these things frequently, daily even.
Hope this makes sense. :)
Flaxen, this was a very good reading. It reflects the way I see it perfectly and helped me see things more clearly. Also, the visual of the card is very powerful and something I can use. Finally, the advice is something I can realistically put into practice.
Thank you!
Thank you to both my volunteers/guinea pigs. :D
I'm glad these readings seem to have been successful as I've really enjoyed connecting with the cards in this way.
Now opening up to 2 more people. Readings will most likely be done at the beginning of April when I have a chunk of time. Again, spiritual/personal development questions work well.

Okay Flaxen, I'd love to be a guinea pig.
recently through a reading on my spiritual development, Northern Tigress told me to call on the phoenix (totem animal cards) to help me. this did really resonate with me when I realized what the phoenix was as a totem animal, (healing)--and I am interested in studying many different ways for healing.
so, my question to you is where should I start? what path should I take towards this goal? or is this too broad a question?
thnx!

Hi Flaxen,
I would love one of these readings please. I am interested in making more progress on my spiritual path but am unsure really of where to start. I have been told various things (that I have innate healing abiltiities, that spirits follow me to name a couple) also considering meditation, shamanistic practices and Wicca! Any advice would be greatly appreciated of which path is best for me :)

This sounds like a good focus. Do you mind if the question is rephrased slightly to 'How can I progress along my path as a healer?' Does that fit what you want to know?

OK, quite a broad question. :) How about 'What do I need to focus on to develop my spiritual path?'

That sounds fab Flaxen, much more succiently put!! :)
Hi,
Here is your reading.
What do I need to focus on to develop my spiritual path? Card pulled - Warrior Three - Alignment
First impressions: There are three figures on this card and this immediately made me think that you want some strong support. The support of a group would give you the courage and confidence to progress. You would benefit from finding some wise mentors who can help you develop your abilities but who will not hold you back if you turn out to be better than them.
The central figure is holding a stick aloft facing towards the rising sun. This implies to me a dawning of a new era. You need to focus on developing your confidence so that you are able to say 'This is me, look at my gifts and how far I've come' with pride and a desire to meet your destiny.
There are several sets of 3 in this card - 3 people, 3 wands, 3 stars.
This suggests that there will be 3 elements to your path which you need to focus on.
There are 3 heavenly bodies in alignment which are linked to the gifts you should aim to develop:
1) Sun - represent the blazing fire of your spirit, unashamed of shining forth, a rebirth.
2) Moon - represents your intuition/psychic abilities. The crescent of the moon makes it look like an eye opening - focus on developing your 3rd eye/clairvoyance.
3) Star - Clarity, illumination, following signs you are given. There is one very bright star and two slightly lesser stars. It suggests that you have 3 pathways opening - it's up to you whether you choose the one which will help you shine most brilliantly.
The Journey
I stepped into the card and the two flanking figures spoke.
Shine a light in dark places. Look for the hidden things below the surface. Seeking answers is fine but be content that some things cannot be known. Be happy in the infinite mystery. Learn to be comfortable in the dark. Some things do not need the light to grow. They adapt.
Eat well. You must not neglect your body while focussing on your spirit. You need fuel for a fire to shine brightly.
In summary, it seems that you are on threshold of a new beginning. You obviously have spiritual gifts that need to be developed in order for your spirit to shine at its brightest. The most important seems to be to develop your clairvoyance and intuition as this will lead you to recognise the signs that you need to follow. It would probably help you if you have some group support with this, at least in the beginning stages to help your confidence. Is there a development circle nearby that you could join? Also, don't forget to look after your body too. You need energy to keep your spirit from flagging. :)

Hi Flaxen,
Thank you for doing this reading. It was extremely meaningful for me and very illuminating. I am simply in awe at the moment. Here is my feedback:

This is where I am at at the moment, as I am shy and definitely lacking in confidence to take the first steps. I recently got talking to a girl at work who is in a meditation circle, and a wicca circle and is developing her clairvoyant powers. I am hoping to attend the meditation and wicca circle with her, and have met a psychic friend of hers who told me I have latent talents waiting to be developed.
The central figure is holding a stick aloft facing towards the rising sun. This implies to me a dawning of a new era. You need to focus on developing your confidence so that you are able to say 'This is me, look at my gifts and how far I've come' with pride and a desire to meet your destiny.
As I have mentioned confidence is a big issue for me. I do feel as I am teetering on the dawn of a new era in my life, especially my spiritual life.

I found this very useful and helpful and am definitely going to take note of these areas for further development. The sun again I see as boosting my confidence enough to be the person I want to be, as well as the things you mentioned above. Also to have more belief and confident in my talents and not to constantly doubt that I can do it.
The Journey

Its interesting they mentioned being comfortable in the dark. As a child I was scared of the dark. I was too young to remember why now though. Even now though occassionally I will wake up and see things in the dark or just irrationally feel scared and/or nervous. I definitely need to work on this it seems. Maybe it ties in with learning to understand that not everything can be known as was mentioned. I'm wondering if it has to do with my latent powers and not fully embracing them or understanding them.
The part about eating well is also apt. I do keep trying to eat healthily and eat to nourish my body, but I struggle with this and have times when I crave junk food. I am currently trying to lose some weight.
The information you brought back from your journey has definitely given me alot to think about and mull over. I think what they have said is very apt and relevant to me and my situation.
In summary, it seems that you are on threshold of a new beginning. You obviously have spiritual gifts that need to be developed in order for your spirit to shine at its brightest. I am going to pursue more seriously joining the circle of my friend in light of this information. I will also endeavour to develop my clairvoyance and intuition and work on stimulating my 3rd eye. This seems like a great place to start my spiritual journey. I will also eat better, hopefully this knowledge will enable me to make the right choices about what to eat.
Thank you so much more this reading Flaxen. It has been so helpful, I'm not sure I have the right words to tell you how much! I have taken alot away from this reading though, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Bright Blessings

Hi,
Here is your reading:
How can I progress along my path as a healer? Card pulled - Warrior Prince - Gift of Spirit
First impressions - this warrior stands proud, spear ready for battle. Flames flow from his hand. The first thing that sprang to mind is be prepared to be active. You must take up the challenge and meet it with courage. The sun is red with orange rays which make me think of the root and sacral chakras. There is a part of you which feels unsure and insecure about taking on the role of healer. Perhaps you don't feel quite ready or are wondering if you are strong and capable enough. It's a responsibility you are not entirely sure you can handle.
The warrior is blue which acts as a contrast to all the fiery colours. Blue to me is a colour of healing, calm and emotional equilibrium. The core of your being is this - the healer is simply who you are. If you connect with the strength of your guides/spiritual teachers then you can meet this challenge. This is your gift from spirit.
It seems that healing with fire energy is something you may wish to experiment with. Fire is quite strong, good for clearing negativity and old patterns - it is the fire of spirit!
Practice connecting with fire energy through your crown, draw it through your body and visualise it leaving through your hands. How does it feel? Try is with water/blue. Does it change? Feel your way, sense the energy and pay attention to hot/cold spots in the body.
The journey:
Advice from the sidhe is as follows:
Feel the fire in your belly. Burn, baby burn - disco inferno! The only way to progress is to get moving! Experiment. Is short, sharp intense heat better? Or should you aim for a gentle stoking which will last? Work out the nature of the problem and apply the remedy. Grasp every opportunity. Could you read people's energy remotely? Sense where they are struggling, holding tension. Do you need the blast furnace or something gentler?
In summary, it seems the main advice is that to progress you have to get on and do something. Don't let your insecurities hold you back as you are a natural healer. Experiment with fire energy and the visualisations suggested and see if you can find some people to try it out on. Find some volunteers. The idea to try and sense energy remotely is quite an interesting one - could you offer it here on the forum? Don't hold yourself back!
Hope some of this makes sense. :)

:) this does make sense, truly. part of my reason for holding back and feeling insecure is that I didn't know which direction to go in! there are many ways for healing. however, when I came across the Matrix Energetics, something in me felt like I finally found 'it'. But, I'm still not 100% sure that is the way to go. (it's the libra in me--I can drive myself crazy w/indecision sometimes!). It is also a huge responsibility. I know this. and yes, that does also frighten me somewhat.
The warrior is blue which acts as a contrast to all the fiery colours. Blue to me is a colour of healing, calm and emotional equilibrium. Feel your way, sense the energy and pay attention to hot/cold spots in the body.yes, it is a gift from spirit, and I have always had a 'way' of just knowing what ails people---partly because I am an empath. I know it is who I am. I just 'know' it and my guides keep coming to me and telling me this as well and it is constantly coming to me--but I still hold back.

Do you need the blast furnace or something gentler?yes, I like the idea of grasping every opportunity - and I feel I do this as well, and this is why I am also confused. I am interested in pretty much EVERYTHING - save Reiki. I know Reiki is out where I am concerned. so at least one is out!
I do have the ability to read people well. And, for some reason, they also sense this in me. I am like a magnet to people and their woes. Strangers are always coming up to me and talking to me--pouring their heart out to me. I get this all the time. I should go back to school and become a counselor I think. I also toy with that idea.
In summary, it seems the main advice is that to progress you have to get on and do something. Don't let your insecurities hold you back as you are a natural healer. Hope some of this makes sense. :)yes, you are right. I do have to move forward and do something! anything. but do it!! I have thought about asking if I could join the aura and chakra cleansing group at the new age shop where I work. I went in for a cleansing and came out a new person! :D I absolutely LOVED IT! it helped me so much--so perhaps that is where I need to concentrate too. not sure about offering it on the forum, save the being able to send prayers and energy peoples way. This is also what I do. I try to remember to pray for everyone who is in need - in anyway, shape or form. and I send energy to feel better as well--when it is okay to do so.
thank you, Flaxen. :) this reading makes perfect sense really. I need to stop asking what and just jump in and do! I need to decide and act upon it, and I'm going to do that when I go in for my next chakra cleansing. :) the lady who runs that is very nice and I do believe I was led to both that store and this woman for a reason. When the student is ready, the teacher appears, right?
thnx again, Flaxen. great reading! :D
