Venue!

Woo-hoo! After nearly two years without a public venue to read from, a local gift shop has given me a regular corner every Friday! Weekends would have been busier, but Fridays are great.

I spent many years reading out of new age shops and cafes, it'll be great to get back into the routine of frequent face-to-faces again.

Wonderful! This is one of my many goals -- get a gig in a shop! I was wondering, when I go in the shop to suggest it, should I offer to do a sample reading for the owner, to demonstrate what I'm all about? I thought that might be a nice thing.

Thanks, everybody. Turns out the girl who'll be looking after the place on the days I work is someone I know slightly, too, which doesn't hurt. And they'll help me advertise. All good, I've got my Travelling Reader's Bag packed ready for my first day.

I remember when I used to read 3-4 days a week routinely out ofa a venue - you need a period of not doing it, to really appreciate what a good thing it is.
