View Full Version : I've added Sacred Path to use with my Medicine Cards
The cards are designed where you can use them together. Interestingly, sacred path is more expensive, but the cards are a cheaper "card" material than the others. Worries me that I may damage them. But we shall see.
Anyway I did a few spreads with them, none struck me as overally "wow", until I did the Grandfather Sun/Grandmother Moon spread. It amazed me, and showed me some great things. There's also a spread called the Initiation spread, which utilizes both decks in it.
A very educational deck as well. Lots of good information in the book which came with them.

I just received the Sacred Path cards from ebay.
Interestingly, I bit on, later, a set of SP's that came with the Medicine Cards, so it's good to know they can be used together easily.
The SP book, after a quick perusal of one card - the burden basket - seems to be an amazing wealth of info and myth related to the cards. I'm so pleased!
I'll be on the look out for the medicine's.

Jamie Sams also wrote a companion book for the Sacred Path cards called the Sacred Path Workbook. I've found the card descriptions in the workbook to be much more concise and helpful. There are also new spreads in the workbook such as Morning Star, Soaring Eagle, Dream Weaver, and a few more. Jamie Sams also gives a more comprehensive description of using the Medicine Cards and the Sacred Path Cards together that I found to be very helpful.
how does sh euse the two decks together? So far what I do is if I get confused, I pull one from the medicine cards to help clarify. Such as, if I see "self sacrifice", and I want to see what "trait" I need to sacrifice, I pull a card.
Example, I did the grandfather sun, grandmother moon spread. I pull the self sacrifice card for the sun position, and retreat for the moon position. I wanted to know what was to be sacrificed, and I pulled of all things, the prairie dog (retreat) from the medicine cards. I gathered I was to sacrifice AND retreat, something I dislike to do, and that pulled the entire spread together.
I'd like to know Grandfather sun/granny moon spread, do you mind sharing them?

In this spread you are looking for the balanced nature of the male and female sides of the individual. Both aspects of our personality draw upon strengths from these characteristics and allow us to be balanced.
1. First card represents male side lessons you are learning now.
2. Second is the lesson your female side is learning now.
3. 3rd card is the challenge found in the lesson of your male side.
4. 4th card is the challenge to the lesson on your female side.
5. 5th card is the assistance you are receiving from the grandfathers and grandmothers while you learn these lessons. You may accept or reject this "gift" of assistance. It is recommended to accept the gift.
Positioning of the cards are like a reverse Teepee, with the grandfather sun being on the top left, grandmother moon top right, male side challenge under the Sun, female challenge under the moon, and all brought togethr by the Goft of Asssitance from the Ancestors.
