Hi, I’m a new member of the Aeclectic Tarot community and a complete noob to tarot as well. For years I studied astrology and was fascinated with how those 12 signs, the planets, moon and sun all contributed to the personalities and behaviours people around me.

This was how I first discovered tarot and I actually bought my first tarot book about 10 years ago, but I never truly read it. Back then I was really into playing cards, so it was the Minor Arcana that captured my interest (surprising, I know!). All I knew then was that the tarot was used by fortune tellers to predict the future, and I’ve always been someone who was insecure of my place in the world, so finding out what was in store for me seemed like a bonus.

I always promised myself that I would get a deck and finally picked up the Universal Waite deck at the beginning of this year along with a few books. I’ve also come across a few other decks (both tarot and oracle) that really “speak” to me which I just had to have.
With tarot, I feel that initial pull to delve deeper in the spiritual mysteries of the world that I first got when I discovered astrology. I’m a Scorpio by the way, so I guess it’s only natural!

Sorry I went on for a bit, but I'm glad to be here.

Welcome to Aeclectic Tarot TrinityDallas :)
Universal Waite is a good choice for a first deck. I usually carry the LoS mini-version in my purse in case I need to have a look during the day.

Hello TrinityDallas and welcome.
I'm not much of an expert in astrology but I have just started becoming really interested in astronomy and finding my way around the night sky. It's fascinating stuff.
Enjoy your tarot journey :)

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Moonbear, I have always loved the night sky. Even took astronomy classes in school. My start in astrology was heavily influenced by this, though I'm more than a little rusty in both subjects.
