Hello hello hello! :)

It's a new month and a new TdM exchange! Please post in this thread if you want to participate!

Timeline:
- Sign up closed on Sunday, April 8th
- Reading partners assigned on Monday, April 9th
- Reading and feedback to be completed by Sunday, May 6th

Spreads:
I admit I am running out of ideas for new TdM suited spreads, anyone has a proposition to make? In anyway, spread of choice is between you and your reading partner.

Here are the spreads proposed in the last months for reference:
- Fibonacci spread (Posts 8 and 9) (http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=170017)
- Compass spread (http://littleredtarot.posterous.com/which-way-now)
- Tirage en Croix (http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=79794&highlight=marseille)
- Dynamic Hexagramme spread (http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=58319)
- Comte de Mellet spread (http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=168695)
- Chronata's spread (http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=16713)

Decks:
The TdM Exchange is a friendly and fun place to share and develop our reading skills with Tarot de Marseille decks, other historic decks with non-scenic pips and Tarot de Marseille inspired modern decks. If you aren't sure if you have a deck that is suited, just ask. If you decide to read with a deck that your sitter does not have, please post pictures of the cards you drew so everybody can follow.

Pips reading methods:
There are a lot of different reading methods of the Tarot de Marseille and especially the pips. These are all equally welcome and all ok. If you don't know where to start, check the forum index (http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=158719) (especially the thread on "Reading Methods" - and don't be shy or scared by the non-scenic pips, just jump on right in!) In order to make this a fruitful learning experience for the reader, the sitter and everybody following the exchange, please take the time to explain what method you are using for the pips. Links to threads here on the forum explaining the method or single cards are most welcome.

Please share the process of your reading, not only the results. And please take the time and effort (as most people do anyway) to write more than a line on each card. Tell your partner what your interpretation is based on, what you saw, what brought you to the conclusions. The more detail, the more everybody will learn!

Feedback:
Please make your feedback as detailled as possible so your reading partner can benefit from it. It's not so much about what you saw in the cards your partner drew for you (even if you can include this as well of course), but more about how you can relate to the reading you got. Don't hesitate to ask questions, to go into a discussion, a back and forth of feedback and feedback on feedback.

No-show/Problems
If anybody has a problem completing their reading or feedback, please please please get in touch with your reading partner and myself. It's not nice to be left hanging in an exchange - and whoever is NOT completing an exchange he or she signed up for (and especially fails to communicate about it) will not be allowed to sign up again until it is completed - and in worst case even risks a two months ban from all reading exchanges.

Happy exchanging! :) Looking forward to it!

;) Don't worry! You can just put the link as text into the post and it will automatically create a clickable link out of it: http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=174748

If you want to know how to create links with a text that is clickable, PM me, I can explain it to you! :)

I have a Noblet and an Ancient Italian that I love to read with, but, for next time, I thought I'd ask in advance: Could I possibly use either the Corto Maltese, or the III Millennium tarots? They're weird and fun, and both contain inlaid TdM reference images, right on the card. Anyone care to share thoughts?

Cheers,

Corey

Hello mrpants (love the nickname, btw!),

interesting question. after looking at both decks I, personally, would tend to say no. Both decks have inlays of TdM cards, that's true (even if the III Millenium only has then on the minors - from the Tarot de Bologna actually), but I guess when you read them, you do read the whole cards, not only the inlets (that wouldn't make sense ;)). And since the design of the Major and Minor Arcana is not at all inspired by or close to the tradition of any historic/TdM deck, I would say they do not qualify.

For me, a deck can be very modern, but it needs to reference the Marseille tradition more clearly than just having an inlay. Non scenic pips are a must, I think. A clear reference to the traditional Trumps is necessary too. (Even if that can be in a modern, humorous way, think Tarot de Marcelino (http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/marcelino/), for exemple.

So, my 2 cents: I'd rather have you join the circle with the Noblet or the Ancient Italian, I think this would make more sense. But only because I am hosting it does in no way mean that I have any more to say about this than everybody else who joins the circle, so if other people disagree, I am happy to talk about it! :)

Hello Sherryl and jhernandez,

clickable links!

- Copy any link into your post
- Click on "Preview Post"
- The link turns into this:
[*url*]http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=174817[*/url*]
(I added a * between the [ ] and the url so you can see it here.)
- copy the address into the first opening brackets, with an = after "url" and before the address, and put the text between the two pairs of brackets. so it looks like this:
[*url=http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=174817*]text of your link[*/url*]
(without the * of course!)
- that's it!

ETA (Edited to add) two things:
- when you hit the "Quote" button of a post with a clickable link, you can see the code used in that post.
- here is a short and maybe clearer explanation: http://www.tarotforum.net/misc.php?do=bbcode (scroll down to "URL Hyperlinking")

mrpants, I added you to the PM notification list! It can be found here (http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?p=2927887), if anybody else wants to get on it!

(I really like the III Millenium, btw, it is so wonderfully weird! I just never read with it... But that is maybe for a different thread, or a PM conversation...;))

Hello dear TdM fellows,

I wanted to announce that I will not be able to host in May - too much work, too much traveling to places without internet for work. I will only be back mid June, so I could host the next exchange then.

Maybe one of you friendly people wants to guest host? porcupines did already once - would you up for that again? I sent her a PM, too...

Thanks and have a good time!
