1 - What do you expect from yourself? - Emperor
This card kind of sets the tone for the rest of the reading. How you stand in the world appears to be pretty important. You expect to be important, powerful, and in control of your life and whatever domain you plan on ruling one day.

2 - What is expected from you? - King of Wands
Others may expect a little less than you think (making transition from Emperor to King here) - I think they simply expect the best you can do... which is still saying quite a bit actually.

3 - What do you expect from others? - 7 of Pentacles
Others may disappoint you for various reasons, but you know that you can't expect them to help you too much - this is YOUR life, so you know that you're pretty much on your own to work hard on getting what you want.

4 - What is working against you? - Judgement
Well, it's simply not time for you to step into a larger role yet. You've still got some things to learn and to grow into- starting with not being so critical of yourself.

5 - What is working for you? - 3 of Cups
You may have some friends or some kind of support group or hobby that keeps you down-to-earth. You can't be the rigid Emperor-type all the time, you've gotta let your hair down once in a while. This gives you perspective on more serious matters.

6 - What is your potential? - 3 of Pentacles
You may not end up the all-poweful Emperor, but this looks like pretty good potential to be a well-respected authority in your field.

1. I never thought of myself as Emperor but it does make sense in a twisted sort of way. If you twist it a bit and its the one in charge, the one keeping it all together, the 'ruling' power being the central rock.

2. I am my own worst critic. I expect way more of myself for the most part than is expected of me. If you tell me about it, I'm going to try to help. If you complain to me about it, I will try to fix it. I do feel though that it is expected of me to do these things. I just add the burden on myself to do it and do it well. That's not always possible you know.

3. I try to set the example for them but its not sinking in for some reason. I don't 'expect' help really. I would like it though.

4. This made me laugh. I didn't read the whole reading before writing up my feedback. I absolutely love how you completely validated that I am my own worst critic.

5. I have a few hobbies and tend to go back and forth with them. I have very few friends. I devoted myself to my family and just never reached out elsewhere. I sort of feel like its too late for that now. It's not that I'm old, it's just hard to make friends.

6. That does look pretty good. Could this be a labor of love vs work thing? I wonder simply because I'm not working (though that should be changing in the near future).

Overall, you've got more fire in this spread than anything- this (and the Emperor being a major influence in this spread) tells me that this reading has to do with *your* purpose. You appear to be a career/goal-oriented type of person, based on this spread... and I don't think this reading was addressing family so much. I think now that I've gotten your feedback, the 3 of Cups could represent the supportive nature of your family, but mostly this reading appears to be all about you, and what you want to do in your life. It *could* be as you suggest, since your focus has been maintaining the family- but the Emperor really addresses more of where we stand to the outside world, in my opinion. Another however though, is this reading is only 1 part to 3. So perhaps it will become more apparent once all the readings are summarized together, what is being addressed exactly... (which I will do soon, I've been working and now have the next 2 days off, so I will be putting it together soon). :)
