Inana: Kudos & thanks for a valuable contribution to Talking Tarot & more specifically, to Aeclectic!

Literally a fingertip reference is a wonderful boon. Saves time & aggravation searching & plowing through countless 'net listings.

I concur! It would be a good idea to make it a sticky so it can be easily referenced.

Hi Inana,

when you're interested in older decks, you find some at:

http://trionfi.com/01/j

but the links are mixed with other stuff and fragmentarious decks, not only complete.

Complete are the Minchiate from Uri Raz (Link is at the site) and Cologne Mantegna, as far I remember, but some others perhaps also:

I was trying to update the list, but the message is too long. I cant add more decks on it.

Hi Huck!
The list looks ways more clear than the one i've made here. Its easier to find each deck. Good work!

But it belongs to all the members. I only put the links together in order... So i dont know what to say... can you rename it to Aeclectic's List or something like that? I think it would be better because many people has contributed to it.

To the others: Huck asked in a PM to include the decks list at Trionfi site. You can see it at the link on his post above mine. It looks good. :)

Huck
15-12-2003, 19:53
I've signed it in a new way (look at the bottom of the page).
I hope, anybody can live with it.

I think, Inana's List sounds good :-) A good name has some worth. And perhaps you'll help to keep it updated from time to time.

Here's a link to the Egipcios Kier tarot deck (recently republished by U.S. Games):

Major Arcana:
http://members.aol.com/TarotLivro/ArcMai.html#top

Minor Arcana:
http://members.aol.com/TarotLivro/ArcMen.html#top

Not all the images seem to work (but maybe it's my computer?). For example, two cards for which the image scan works are:
http://members.aol.com/TarotLivro/L61.html
http://members.aol.com/TarotLivro/L69.html

As you may know, the Egipicios Kier deck is based on the divinatory meanings (upright or reversed card) of the pre-20th century Grand Etteilla deck from France.

P.S.: Fellow Aeclecticians, I'm curious whether all the 78 image scans work on your computer.

Lee
17-12-2003, 05:56
The images don't work on my computer either. I have a fairly new WinXP computer.

A nice site. As "technical assistant" for Inanas list I 'll surely add it it soon.
I perceive a lot of enthusiasm about the list and enjoy the enjoyment.
As we've also at our site a very special interest for Tarot history, I would like to see the decks provided with some basic data like:

Author, painter:

Accompanying book (yes/no), if, which:

Published in which number:

Published where:

Published when:

Special notes:

How to get it, if available.

Yes, our deck is shown in full at one or two other sites too (notably in Russia). The difference is, Anne Murkett at divinationsystems asked our permission first! She is very good about such things, and respects copyright etc.

There are a lot of Russian decks (and Russian reissues of US Games decks) at one site we found. I'll dig out the URL and post it if no-one has so far. It's really interesting.

Edited to say - here is the URL:

http://mirror01.iptelecom.net.ua/~grdoor/tarorec.html

The "adapted" are just Russian versions of popular decks, the "original" are the interesting ones as I don't think we often get to see these.

Hi,

at

http://trionfi.com/01/s/index.html

some older German historical important playing card decks are shown from the WWPCM. Some treasures, for instance

Hofämterspiel, Ambras, Floetner

It's a test, if anybody receives good pictures and if the page works. When it doesn't work at your computer, please tell me details (browser, graphical representation).

Thanks

I've added some 80-90 Tarot decks from the WWPCM, the World Web Playing Card Museum from Alexander Sukhorukov. Partly the decks already are shown in Inana's list, but now they are presented probably optically and functionally better.

Alexander has given a very large input and we will have trouble to sort all this stuff. So there will be further quick enlarging changes soon. It will become a little more than a linking list, it will be a Museum.

The address is now

http://trionfi.com/01/s/

Inana's list is still at

http://trionfi.com/01/j/i/

and the historical gathering is at

The MUSEUM reaches now 2600 playing card decks, a few hundreds from them Tarot cards.
However most parts are unsorted, this will happen in the future.

It'a little chaotic, but it's a real adventure to have a walk through the creativity of cardmakers of 6 centuries.

Inana's list will merge in the new system, but it needs some time. Much fun!

Alexanders Sukhorukows playing card collection is now included in the MUSEUM and an installment in the trionfi.com surrounding is done, although it is only receivable by number (2600 decks).

Visiting it is a vast walk through the history of all sorts of human creativity, a broad spectrum of all. Some cheap things, some expensive, some good taste, some bad taste, normal playing cards, special playing cards, fortune decks of all kind, decks for children, decks for special games, Jokers especially ... well, and some Tarot decks also. You've long nights to do, if we want to take a short visit.

http://trionfi.com/01/s/

Inana's list is still at the same place and I've added links recently to other link collections to view decks, also links to reviews:

http://trionfi.com/01/i/j/

Not to forget the historical collection at:

http://trionfi.com/01/i/

Old German decks (very important for the history of playing cards) are concentrated at:

http://geocities.com/tarocchi7/

We're working to sort the material to get it better presented, but it will need some time.

I've added the imported links to Inana's list as far as possible. The Tarot of Prague I didn't find in a complete version (?).

What a fun deck!

It's a RWS clone for the most part but I love those knights! Have you noticed that the knight of pentacles in the thumbnail picture is riding a snail, but if you click for a larger version you get a knight on a horse? I prefer the snail. In fact, I prefer the cards where the artist has departed from RWS.

It's bright, fun deck though. Does anyone have it?

Hi,

I've integrated the latest links, also I've worked to get Inana's list and the many decks hidden in Alexander Suhkorukows World Web Playing Card Museum together. The solution isn't still perfect, but we have now 122 new Tarot decks, although not all complete. Alexander has many Russian decks, also many decks for players. So you do not only find the usual colourful modern Tarot decks, but also Animal Tarots and other older stuff of some curiosity.

I've sorted about 80 Fortune telling decks out of the Museum of Alexander Sukhorukow, reachable at:

http://trionfi.com/0/s/g/

It's quite interesting to know this type of deck also. If you know of other decks of this unusual type in the web, please let me know.

Thanks for the recent notes, they're added now. The Herbal Tarot was already in the Museum's list, which is not alphabetically sorted, but according the time of production. For technical reasons it's not easy to merge both lists - perhaps with the time I find a better solution.

The timeline (1370 - 1800), recently considerably enlarged:

http://trionfi.com/0/j/

has found some additional new sources of information, the lists of Mary Greer/Lola Lucas (1750 - 1980) and of Joan Coal (1960 - 2003; specified on the female viewing point).

... we're experimenting with a new form for presenting the Iconography of Tarot cards.
A first experiment (or some) are reachable at:

http://trionfi.com/0/i/test/

At the left column only the Link "Trionfi" works and from the trumps, which appear, when you press "Trionfi", only 0,1,2,3,4,5,15,21.

It's just a raw experiment, however, already this is impressive, as you might realize.

Later it will be the plan, to arrange compositions for all 78 cards - somehow in a more informative manner, arrangeed in a tim-plan and the motifs sorted in specific groups - in combinations with articles, compare:

http://trionfi.com/0/i/

and the possibility to compare motifs on the same screen. Also it's the plan to integrate Motif-compositions for Motifs, which are not part of the standard Tarot - for instance the Motifs of Mantegna-Tarocchi and Minchiate.

Proudly I announce the installation of a database with about 3600 playing card decks ... and now with a still rough SEARCH FUNCTION.

http://trionfi.com/0/s/k/

If you search - for instance - Tarot in Russia: Fill the name field with "Tarot" and the country field with "Russia". If you search Fortune telling decks. Type Fortune in the name field. If you search a very specific topic: type the name of the topic in the name field.

This installation was only possible by the cooperation of various persons.

We need perhaps some more cooperators and volunteers in the matter, cause there are now 6 fields, but some more need to be edited. It are 3600, it are a lot, if you've to do it alone. After this process more refined researches would be possible.

Another theme now becomes merging Inana's List in the presentation, then not only the Museum of Alexander becomes part of the research processes, but also foreign links, which offer material in the web. Another process will become to research further links in the web, which "only" offer a few cards . Actually we will change the earlier rule, that only complete deck becomes part of the process.

Well, still some work and some volunteers are desired. But after this Tarot will be presented in the web better than art history ....

One should see, that such an installation raises the whole topic of "Tarot" in the public orientation. Tarot gets a serious background. That has some worth, although we also think, that one shouldn't forget the humorous aspects :-), especially not the Bavarian Animal Tarot.

Search "Bavaria" :-)

A strange and some important cardplay was produced in 1509 by Mathias Ringmann. It had the function to teach Latin Grammar and uses Tarot-like figures like King, Queen, Cupbearer (similar to Magician), Fool, bell-ringer, priest, monk and figures for the gender.

The figures appeared in a book. It was translated by Kenneth Mayer.

with copies of the pictures.

But the best part is now you can view ALL the cards. This really helps in deciding on whether or not to purchase this set.

The decks noted were added to the Inana's list. The current good pages of the Tarot Museum are:

http://trionfi.com/0/i/c/ALL-78/
---> especially good for iconographical studies; 78 motifs from ca. 200 decks, ready to comparition ... VERY NICE (and we know from our statistics, that a lot of persons overlooked this link ... :-))

http://trionfi.com/0/j/
---> time-table with links to articles and to decks "before 1800"

http://trionfi.com/0/s/b/
---> Tarot Museum

http://trionfi.com/0/s/k/
---> Playing card collection - researchable database

http://trionfi.com/0/s/g/
---> about 80 Fortune telling decks (not Tarot)

currently we work with some energy about the historical Mantegna Tarot, so there's not much time for new developments in the Museum. Here are some pictures of the Manegna:

http://trionfi.com/0/j/d/Mantegna/

and a bunch of related articles (complicated stuff, I tell you) will descend at

Whoever made this list, THANK YOU!

Thanks back for your interest. It's a group work, various persons participated.

Dal Negro had once made a remake of the Mitelli-deck, which we show in the Tarot-Museum. I personally consider them rather nice.

These days I stumbled at an Italian library-site about a good collection to the artist Mitelli with many pictures - various series, and some of them look rather similar to the motifs of the Tarocchi game. The two most interesting series show professions.

One series contains 24 professions and 2 others, opening (Time) and ending (death). I wondered if this is based on a reflection of the 24 hours.

The second series shows 42 motifs, however, one is not a figure, but the city of Bologna. I wondered, if he refleced the 41 Minchiate cards.

In another series he shows around 50 illustrated proverbs.

In a fourth collection there are games with dices, a colorful sammelsurium of various things.

Somehow more than one Tarot.

I've collected the links at our Mitelli-page:

http://trionfi.com/0/j/d/mitelli/

It's a treasure, many pictures and a riddle in itself.

Hi:

For those who might be interested, the following is a site that shows the whole deck of the Decameron. As usual, it helps when deciding about a deck to see the complete "package." Hey, you gotta' have a sense of humor about these things. No, really, it's deeper than meets the eye, is substantive IMO and will deliver "a no holds barred reading." For those who don't know, this is an erotic deck and will not be to everyone's tastes. :D

As perhaps not everybody knows, we (Trionfi.com) work about Tarot history and follow and research the 5x14-theory, which assumes, that Tarot developed from normal decks with 5 suits with for instance, 5x13, 5x14 and 5x16 structures. The 5th suit developed then the function to be the predefined "trump-suit", which - according to his special function - got more interesting outfit than the other suits, finally the number of the trumps were changed, instead of 14 or 16 cards it got 22 or 41 as in the Minchiate.

Old card decks from 15th century are rare, there are not much. Each is precious, cause it tells something about the reality of 15th century and helps to discover the true story of Tarot and playing cards generally.

Now we've been so lucky to get the complete pictures of Master PW of Cologne, an unknown artist, who is only known by his monogramm PW. He made curious round cards - and, a great matter - he used the 5x14-structure. His deck is too young (around 1477 is likely) to be called the "mother of Tarot", but it gives evidence, that this basic structure existed. Here it is, a very important deck, not Tarot, but nonetheless, very precious:

http://trionfi.com/0/j/d/masterPW/

If you love these old cards, it's recommended to make an excursion to

http://trionfi.com/0/j/

, where you find a timetable with many, many old decks, as far it was possible, with some description.

Huck .. your site is extremely difficult to navigate. Awesome reference but way too confusing.

OOps ... OOps ... sorry. There are about 10.000 pages now and things become occasionally a little complicated, cause there's always only one monitor to use. There is an instruction page:

http://trionfi.com/0/s/i/

for the Museum, possibly it needs to be updated a little. What do you search specifically? One greater part is aboutTarot history, which splits in various main-themes. Another greater part is about the Tarot Museum and how to view old and new cards - in various systems. The page

http://trionfi.com/tarot-playing-cards-museum/

tries to give an overview about the different possibilities. For Tarot Cards is good

http://trionfi.com/0/s/b/

it shows to the left about 250 Tarot decks from the Museum and to the right about 250 decks from "foreign sources". When you click on the left, the left window is used to shows links to the cards, that you might look on. If you click a card, the right window is used to show the card. If you wish to return to the start position, you've to click the bar to the left "Tarot" und you're back at begin.
When you click on the right, "foreign links", a blank window opens the "foreign site" and there's usually an own and other navigation. If you close this window, you're back again at start.

From this page you can view the most Tarot decks.

Very interesting is of course

http://trionfi.com(0/i/c/ALL-78/

It's complicated, true, but it offers a lot. You can view about 200 magician, 200 Fools etc with few clicks only from about 200 decks, ("foreign links" are not used) and it gives an impression, how individual motifs developed in time. The idea behind this show is to compare motifs and also two single cards (which is an additional function). Also involved are iconographic articles to the trumps.
True, complicated, but actually a masterpiece, worked out not by me alone ... :-) Something, what is needed in research.

There are about 3900 decks involved now and that's a labyrinth by their number and by far not every deck has the same condition and origin. The situation of playing card research is the real labyrinth, not our humble mirror ... :-)

A good view, how chaotic it is, gives the timeline

http://trionfi.com/0/j/

where you see, that access to these old cards is not natural, but hard work. And naturally the result of many research operations is a little chaotic :-)

A "new" old (ca. from 1490) Tarot card was detected:

It's a ship and possibly belonged to an old Minchiate deck.

Another rather unknown object (also 15th century, possibly a Sforza card) was sold in March 2005 at an auction in Paris and it was said, that it was sold for 280.000 Euro (!, sounds unbelievable, but who knows).

Yes, I agree it is a wierd name (I don't care for the name at all) but, these IMO are some of the most interesting depictions of the cards that I have ever seen. The artwork is unique, and all of the artists represented are extremely talented in terms of their style - and they do have STYLE!!

Cause of technical conditions, we've not all Tarot decks from this site ... if you're interested to find new decks, which are not included in our list, you should investigate numbers above Nr. 3600 (Alexander has already reached Nr. 5000) - we've sorted some out in this upper region, but not all. Karen, hello!

I'm very much looking forward to this deck. When I visited the site, however, while I was able to see the other card suits, I was not able to view all of the majors. I would love to see them. Is there a glitch? :)

Thanks so much.

Hi, everyone:

Just wondering if anyone knows of a site where I can view all of the cards in the Fey Tarot. The site listed at the beginning of this Thread does not seem to be working anymore - I get nothing when I try it.

Thanks for your help. :)

Apologies if this site has already been posted. This website is an extension of Tarot Advice (first page of this thread), more or less, but shows ALL cards and backs for each deck:
- Sola Busca
- Angels (Place)
- Aquatic
- Avalon
- Bosch
- Celtic (Lo Scarabeo)
- Children
- Cosmic
- Crystal
- Enchanted
- Erotic (Manara)
- Fractal Firebird
- Legend: the Arthurian
- Nefertiti
- Olympus
- Sacred Circle
- Secret
- Stone
- Tarot 2000
- Art Nouveau (Lo Scarabeo)
- Erotica
- Casanova
- Hidden Folk
- Journey to the Orient
- Old Path
- Renaissance (Lo Scarabeo)
- Saints
- Marseilles (sorry, not sure which version!)
- Alchemical (!!!!!!)
- Universal (de Angelis)
- Visconti Gold
- Voyager

Images are fairly small and the resolution is cruddy, but will certainly give you the idea of what all the cards are like. I discovered it yesterday while trying to decide on the Voyager Tarot - it worked, I have a bid on it at eBay :)

The S-series of the Mantegna Tarocchi was (likely) a second edition of the E-series, which is considered as the original. The S-version is (with insecurities) is dated to the year 1485. A nice rarity, usually one sess only the E-series in the web or its reproductions.

Hi,

the usual address for the list is

http://trionfi.com/0/s/b/

and then it is in the right frame.

Decks are included, when they're "complete" presented somewhere usually.
(the last 5-10 entries might miss in the moment)

But you find in the right column (alphabetic listing) for instance the Röhrig Tarot, also the Lovers Path Tarot.

Other resources are given at the bottom of this (right) column. In the left column Tarot resources of the Museum are given, a general view on all Museum features is at:

http://trionfi.com/0/s/

For instance: In the case, that you've historical interests (old decks):

- decks and articles sorted in a timeline

Iconographical interests, compare decks

One way weould be to enlarge the Museum of Alexander Sukhorukow ...

http://www.rusjoker.ru/WWPCM/shop/sukhty.htm

the page doesn't look as if you could add something there, but just contact

Alexander

or simply send him the pictures. He will be enjoyed and process them in a way, that we will finally find them in the Museum ... together with 5500 other decks (not only Tarot)

also in other listings, coordinated by

Tarot News June 2006 includes some News about the Tarot Museum, new decks etc.

- and also an article about the "Guldin Spil", an old text of Meister Ingold in the year 1432. Most of the text is about chess, but also some other games are mentioned, beteen them card playing, which is attibruted to the sin Lust (Meister Ingold is against card playing, one should know).
In a rather short passage Ingold describes the game structure (52 cards, common 4x13-structure) ... but they include some very interesting sentences about trumping in the game: The kings cannot trump, but the other court cards can (and it seems that these are the only trumps). Ingold describes 2 decks, and the second is most interesting, cause it uses individualized profession cards as trumps. And there we meet the riddles of Tarot ....

- and some other news

does anyone update the list?

Yes, it's me ... more or less regularely, but usually I wait till a few changes are offered. The list is now updated and at:

http://trionfi.com/l/

"Inana's list", one of the buttons to the left in the menu leads to the specific list of this thread, directly it's at

also recommendable is

.... hmmm, the links in this thread are collected at the trionfi.com page, so presenting them here is a little redundant. Links from foreign pages are collected in Inana's list ..

http://trionfi.com/l-inana-tarot-decks-list/

So the link the the Gilded Tarot (http://www.ciromarchetti.com) no longer shows the whole Gilded Tarot. Any other sites where I might be able to find it? I have it, but I'd like a version to add to my printed-up reflections. I suppose I'll have to whip out the ol' scanner.... :(

Miren
13-11-2006, 20:39
So, I did scan the cards and now they're on my site http://www.freewebs.com/mirenreference/gildedtarot.html .

They're not the greatest scan, but they give some idea of what the Gilded Tarot looks like for those who are considering buying it. Also, now I can consider the cards wherever I am if I have internet access. :)

This is an incredible resource, thank you very much for putting the time into it. Can anyone tell me if they know of a place to find images of all of the cards from Brian Froud's faerie oracle? Gambler.ru has changed the domain once in the meanwhile.

But all links are organised and frequently updated inside the Tarot Museum.

GOOD NEWS!!! No, You don't have to click on each card individually on that site. If you go to the main page, click on the deck you want to see. On the next page that lists all the cards from that deck, scroll all the way down to the bottom and click on the one that has (vlst:php) after it. I think that's short for 'view list'. It should be the last link on the page. That puts up EVERY CARD on one page!!!!! OH MY GOD!!! it's too much, I find way too many decks that way. Too much information! Saves you from clicking on every card that way.

I would like to suggest to everyone posting here that it would be so much easier for any and all of us to find the deck we're inquiring about if the name of the deck is posted in the 'Title' bar... just the name of the deck... all other comments being reserved for the 'Message' part of one's posting...

In this way, when one is just browsing the Thread, one can see at a quick glance which deck the posting is about... Of course, a Search will bring up a specific deck you're asking about, but browsing is very tedious without a deck Title...

1) Universal Tarot (I think I saw 2 of them listed here at AT? I'd like to be able to view both of them if there is actually 2 different ones. I saw the link; I'll look around for viewing both of these.)

2) Universal Marseille Tarot*

There will be others I'm sure, but for right now, I think this is it.

Thanks!

*Is this the same one as the "Tarot of Marseille?"

Taken from Learn Tarot dot com:
http://www.learntarot.com/uvdesc.htm

"In the Universal Tarot, artist and writer Maxwell Miller uses symbols from many cultures and spiritual traditions, such as Christianity, Islam, ancient Egypt, Native America and the religions of the Far East. Miller also brings in ideas from astrology, numerology and other esoteric sciences. The 22 major arcana cards correspond to the twelve signs of the zodiac, 7 sacred planets and 3 elements. The entire minor arcana is the fourth element - earth. Miller uses different items to represent the suit symbols. For example, cups might be water jars, clay pots or alchemical vases. The Universal Tarot only has 12 court cards instead of the standard 16. The pages have been removed so that each court card represents one zodiacal sign. In The Universal Tarot (144 pages), Miller describes each card's meaning and symbols in detail."

Your welcome...

What I like about the http://69.34.198.122/Packs/ site, is that the images are very large... At Taroteca and Interhobby, the images are very small... even the images at Aeclectic Tarot are not as big as I would like... Therefore, my first choice in looking at decks is the 'all-packs' site... I also like that they give you the entire deck in one screen shot... I get tired of the click, click, clicking...

Firemaiden, you can enlarge everything on your screen really easily. Go to Page, Then Zoom, and change the setting from 100% to the 200% or 400%. Pictures will enlarge on every screen you go to till you change it back. It helps a lot when things are too tiny to see clearly.

I sent an email to web master of "World Web Playing Cards Museum" .
http://www.rusjoker.ru/WWPCM/ (very best clear images!!)

Web master answered If I can to buy this deck or anyone send me images, I can update anything.
In addition, Web Master wanted to gain images of tarot, appearing said because one's HP was minor unless anyone sent an image of the latest tarot recently.

It seems that Web Master will put a picture on HP if you want to see the picture of 78 sheets of the latest tarot and the image data of the tarot which you have in Mail Address in the lower right of the page of the upper link will be sent.

I sent an email to web master of "TarotKorea"(http://www.tarotkorea.co.kr/gallery/list.php) that the plan of update of the tarot which was the latest in Web master of spent an email of contents whether there was not.
For master, tarot of "Lo Scarabeo", "AGMuller" are high. Because web master updated on only cheap tarot. Therefore master answered that he updated it up if somebody sent an image of the tarot which did not yet appear.

As for the having, how will about it if I want to watch a beautiful image of the tarot which all 78 pieces yet appear in in no HP because there was such an answer when I try to send it? ("~Foreigner Only" on a page click, and Email address of TarotKorea appears.)

I'm sorry in poor English...

OK, I am able to scan my decks at work one day a week feasibly. I would like to find out which ones want to be seen around here, if it would be helpful. I'm really only acquainted with Taroteca for looking at entire decks that I don't own (with popups and cookies turned very off, mind you :P ). Would any of you folks who know this thread well be willing to tell me which not-super-rare decks are not online and "should" be? :) If I have them, I will scan and post them. Thanks.

EDIT: I see that Inana (thanks be to her!) has many things listed, but for example, you guys probably don't have any great need for scans of the Hanson-Roberts, which isn't listed... What have y'all been wanting to see?

Hi Harfang and thank you for the offer.

One of the very few deck we cannot see online (I mean as a full deck) is the new Mystic Faeries tarot from Linda Ravenscroft (Llewellyn editions). As this coming deck is so very popular (see the Mystic Faeries tread), many would surely enjoy browsing at all the cards.

If this is possible and if you could post them, it would be a dream!

Thank so much in advance for your time and offer.

Hi Folks,

This is just a quick note to say that posting scans of an entire deck on the Aeclectic forums is not OK.
We are worried about copyright issues here.

Whilst this thread links to sites that show the whole deck, the copyright responsibility is with the owners of those particular sites.
Posting a few scans on the forums is OK whilst posting scans of a whole deck without getting permission to do so from the publisher or deck author is not.

Thank you.

I'm a bit surprised that you actually thought I would post a deck INTO the forums. But I'm sorry if I wasn't clear enough. I was suggesting that I could post a deck elsewhere, and put the link in here.

EDIT: ooh. I see I said I would post "them," the scans. I am sorry. I honestly meant that I would put them up someplace else and post a link. Apologies.

...It occurs to me that at this point Aeclectic is so visible within the tarot community that, if one of its members says that they themselves will post a deck's images -- even off the forums -- perhaps it's too dangerous to the forum, in terms of the forum continuing to have this thread. Ultimately I am sure any of the publishers could ask that the thread be removed. Should I not have offered to post them at all, even if not here?

Good grief. I tend to allow my natural guilelessness occur in this forum, because it feels safe to do so. I have a much more sardonic way of communicating in "real life" and I should probably keep one foot in that on the forums so that I don't act like a child. I'm genuinely mortified and sorry if I screwed up.

When I tried the link for the Rohrig Tarot in the first post, I noticed it was not working anymore.

But I found this German site that allows you to do on-line readings with the Rohrig and other decks like the Traumzeit (I think that is the Eden tarot ? not sure).

Harmonious Tarot, Bruegel Tarot, and Giotto Tarot... I want to surely see clear pictures of these three tarots.
Do not you know whom or one having one, data knowing a site?

You can find all three of them (and MANY more!) on this site:

http://www.interhobby.net/tarot/viCard.php3?Code=059

This links you directly to the Bruegel, but if you click a letter at the top, it will take you to several decks beginning with that letter.

Terrific site....enjoy!

Yeah, but isn't it a gorgeous deck??? And it does read really well for me too. As for me I very rarely use the books anyways as I read mostly intuitively. You just get to the point after a while where the books aren't that necessary.

Hi!

If anyone knows of a site that shows all of Tarot of the Elves, please post. I have seen some of the cards, but, am interested in seeing all of them. I do know that some find certain cards to be rather "dark," e.g., too much blood or too violent. I've seen at least 3 cards like that.

The deck is very interesting to me. There has been a lot of criticism regarding the artwork, but, I happen to like it. :)

The Museum had some difficulties last month, as the server of the WWPCM had changed. Still some parts must be updated.

Inana's list was updated ... after a long time, where I didn't have enough time to observe it. Now there are so many new decks, that's too much to control double entries, everybody uses different names and all this starts to become confusing. So I changed strategy and large groups of offered decks (Taroteca for instance) are placed at an own list. And these got a new button "Additional" at

http://trionfi.com/l/

.. the last letter is a small "L" - so you can reach this list and the other lists with a short way.

I think, I'll add another list, named "complete list", in which all lists are combined together, although I haven't solved the technical problems for the moment.

As I observed, the problem of most visitors is to search a specific deck. By this way they can easily search, if a deck is somewhere.

Partly updated is the Old Tarot decks list ... some decks were added:

http://trionfi.com/m/d05495.htm - Wuest (Germany), Industrie- und Glück-Tarot ca. 1900
http://trionfi.com/m/d05560.htm - Lo Scarabeo (Italy), Tarocchi dei Celti, 1991

The Orphalese deck exchange for members is down right now. Apparently, the company that provided the server space has gone out of business. They are looking for a new service provider, but for the moment the decks are unavailable. I assume the Internet link with many of the Orphalese decks must be experiencing the same problem.

Well, now you've done it. LOL I had truly decided I was done buying decks, but as soon as I saw this one I knew I had to have it. It's so beautiful and I guess I should have one historical deck before I stop. Ok NOW I am done buying decks.

Sorry I don't think there is one.
If you take a look at the Pearls of Wisdom Study Group threads, I'm trying to post cards as we go along:

I scanned my Mystic Faerie deck, but I know that you guys don't like posting of full-res scans for copyright reasons and such. So the last time, something that worked when I scanned the Llewellyn - well, if people want to PM me, I can link them. :)

Thank you so much! And I'm sorry I can't even say the name of the deck I'm thinking of. Though I lay the blame on the over-use of the word "universal' in the tarot world. The Universal Universe tarot cannot be far behind.

Anyone know if all the Circus Sideshow cards

This is not the greatest place but you can see all the cards and meanings if you are patient. If you do click on Quest Tarot and on Celtic Cross you can see 10 of the cards at a time. They are nice big images...

Thanks to you Silverlyn. I replaced your site with mine in my favourites folder. Unfortunately, almost all the other links in your postto the decks I have are dead links: The Dance of Life, The Margeret Petersen...I have this one for the Margeret Petersen, in case someone wants it.

But it only has the images, not how the cards look with the titles printed.

Hope that helps someone,

Each deck keeps getting better and better. Wow, simply amazing these cards are.
I could set here all day long and watch them go by. I can't wait to have the time to view all of them.

As usual, WOW...simply excellent!

Here's a link to the so beautifull "Pearls of wistoms" decks.
On the flash, they are all the majors.

http://www.pearlsofwisdomtarot.com/slideshow.html

I know they are only the Majors, buI posted it beaucouse i had been looking for theses pics a long while, before I got the deck "cool blooded" (does-it mean something in english? ). I rarely do so, but I had not been deceived at all, the deck is enchanting... And the minors are as well done and beautifull as the majors.

And the new version with forest green border seems even better!

Hi jackdaw,
Hi everybody,

just give me another week ... I'm working on it ;-)

At the moment: albideuter.de ... it's completly down ... no mail, no administration ...

when I started that side, i just thought about a few pictures ...
but by the time, it got more and more ;-)

... and it seems that my Provider just blocked me because of too much traffic ...

The last days, I searched a new Webhost, .... next week I hope that the Domain-Name can be transfered ... and then I just have to upload everything.

... Sorry ...

But in the end, it's a nice compliment to be thrown out because of too much visitors / hits / web-traffic ;-)))))

YES; I agree entirely. This is a GREAT thread. It really helps us all to find decks we can see on line. ALL kudos to those who started it up.

What I would like, though, is for all the (still live....) links in this thread to be here but without all the discussion in between - and many have been repeated - more than once - because others can't find them, and some have gone dead since they were posted, and so it goes on.

Maybe when a new link is found, there can be a separate thread with JUST deck names and links to them, and requests can be separate....

That would be nice...
Or just to ask people to double post answer links, both in the "ask and seek thread" and "link only tread" (with title please...). This way both would be complete, without (I hope) having you to work over it.

I am sure you have enough to do without it

Hi. I am a new member, and I am not sure if this site has been posted in this forum before, but I discovered it inadvertantly, and would like to share. Almost every Tarot deck is available to see in its entirety, all 78 or so cards. on this site. All the cards for each deck. Pretty amazing, and a must check-out if you like to see all the images before purchasing a deck.

OH yes, we know that one. And look at this thread. (http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=17948) You can see loads more decks than are on taroteca !

Welcome, by the way.

Someone posted a link to this site on another thread:

http://www.albideuter.de/

It's in German, but it shows a lot of decks in their entirety.

Moreover, I like this feature:

http://www.albideuter.de/html/mond.html

This is just the page for the World, but the site does it for every card in each deck (or at least all the standard cards).

Fantastic! This is also over on Site That Show The Whole Deck, I hope?
This is a real boon for any number of reasons, including, if we were to consider making a deck ourselves, an easy review of what we feel works best, and what to avoid as plagiarism!

Since it's a deck from the 70's and OOP, it's less likely to find images of it than a deck that is still in print. It must be quite a rare deck.

Good luck finding the images. I see you don't yet have the deck (it says in your profile). I don't know if this will be useful but there is one for sale on Ebay right now. They do ship worldwide.

http://cgi.ebay.ca/BALBI-Tarot-Deck-by-Domenico-Balbi-OOP_W0QQitemZ260397470319QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item260397470319&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1215%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

They do say it's in excellend condition, it's in the US but it is up to $153.00 already. It ends in 1 day and 21 hours.

i know it's a lot but I thought i would mention it in case it is useful. As they must be really hard to get and it is on your wishlist.

Hello All,

just to explain (some may be confuse, because there are lot's of Decks double in this alphabetic list)
I tryed to mention not only one name.
an example:
The Native American is listed at N (of course)
but also at P (I Tarocchi dei Pellerossa)
and also at I (Indianer Tarot)
So please don't wonder, if in this List everything is double and more,
i just wanted to make it easier ;-)))

Your deck is sure going to be a wonder.
For so long, I was hoping for a fairytale decks, but all those existing are mostly about unknown legends (for us Americans) or so bland.

Your's is full of emotions: it combines all the mysteries we used to love as child (and still do), and your artistry is really so fluid and oustanding.

We all know the tremendous work implied, but this deck is really going to be a succes and a favorite, so please, be confident.

Take care

Maybe I missed the link, but could somebody perhaps point me to a site with all the scans of Dame Fortune's Tarot by Paul Huson. I would love to have them here on my computer for my use in studying the deck (and I hate scanning them myself ...)
