This is an excellent idea you had Rhinemaiden. I'm going to find my digital caliper and do some actual measurements of the thickness of some of decks I have. That way we can compare the "feel" of a deck to the actual thickness. The lamination might be a little harder to measure without damaging a card by scraping it off. I am rather hesitant to do that. But the relative thicknesses should give us something to go on.

I like the idea, as I pay attention to the card stock, it matters for me if it`s a nice feeling or slippery/flimsy pieces of paper.

daphne

Moderate shiny cards, velvety feeling, like butter almost - Rosetta tarot.

glad so many are participating here! As this thread moves along, I'll set up a chart and tabulate all the input for easy reference... :)

Le Fanu

Dreamy cardstock; slightly stiff but flexible, slightly glossy, perfect in every way. The non-limited edition Flornoy decks, Noblet, Dodal

Le Fanu

"whippy" cardstock; MRP decks (I've never understood what this whippy means but many use it as a definition so I suppose it should be up there.)
