I-Ching Holitzka - Quality control !!!

ana luisa

I need your expert help with something. I have the feeling my beloved I-Ching Holitzka will need a twin deck soon so I was checking on Amazon and Alida. They sell decks from different publishers namely USGames and Muller. Is there a huge different in quality between these decks? I own the Muller version and love it but it is VERY pricy now (dding the shipping to my country and all). If you own the US Games version, could you tell me how they stand the test of time and how the renderings of the cards are ? Thank you so much for your help . :)

Interesting. I will be keeping track of this. I do not yet own that deck, but it is one that I have in mind to acquire one day.

I did not even know there was an AG Muller version of it!

I own this deck... on the box is the AG Muller name/logo as the publisher copyright 1999, cards were printed in Belgium. It's a lovely deck... my favorite iching deck.

It may be that the deck is still published by AG Muller, but distributed in some countries by US Games.

Ohhhh, right! U.S. Games does that sometimes ... Does this mean after it sells there will be no others? if so, this one better move up on my acquisition list.

How does this deck read for you guys? Do you need to refer to a book/LWB?

Le Fanu

Yeah, I doubt this one is US Games. That'll be the distributor...

It reads BEAUTIFULLY. In my opinion it is one of the most unerrated oracles to date. This deck is simply superb. Have a look:

The backs are of a very "oriental" red with intricate designs. The I-ching ideogram in each card is golden and the red dot reflects the red from the backs. The way the images are drawn make they "splash" at you. Literaly. I have to admit, I am VERY bad at reading the traditional I-Ching with only the ideograms but with these images, they're so powerful...

How is this for union and gathering forces ?

Negative frame of mind, burden, funk:

Beware, though. This deck is a no BS deck. Most of my wake up calls came from it and it has no tact as to telling it like it is. So, if you're ready to brave this guy, it is really worth buying. As I said before, I would gladly buy the same Muller version (they still have it at Alida) but it is too expensive for me at this time. The US is cheaper but I haven't seen it to judge the quality.

Wow, ana luisa, thanks for that! :)

It looks like the cards are borderless? Say it ain't so!! That WOULD be the icing on the cake. :D

It almost looks readable intuitively, without any book.

I have been studying the I Ching for the last few years, and only intensely for the about he last six months.

I was sort of hoping that a deck existed, but the ones I found were just OK (the Tao oracle comes to mind)

On the other hand...THIS is awesome...exactly the sort of thing I was looking for!

Off to research some more!~

Yes, NO borders! And I read them solely by intuition. Never felt the need to use the little white book. :)
