View Full Version : Your favorite Tarot and Tarot-related websites?

I'm in the middle of putting together a free downloadable PDF file that will go on my website as an expanded alternative to the Little White Book with the WorldTree Tarot.

At the end of the document I'm including links to various and sundry websites that people who use the deck might be interested in. Aeclectic and this forum are at the top of the page, followed by Major Tom's site, the Tarot Garden, and a few others, including deck sites that I enjoy.

In the middle of doing this, I realized that if I really wanted to offer something really useful, I needed more input, and what better place to get it than here?

So, tell me your favorite sites, and the ones you don't visit often but are really happy to have available. If you'd like to put a couple of lines of review in with your choices, and I can use your Aeclectic username with them, feel free. If you can tell me something about the site for later grouping by category, that would be great. If you want to plug your own site, fine by me. There's lots of potential space to fill. (If it starts outweighing the rest of the book, I may have second thoughts, but that will take some doing.)

(Note: Solandia will probably be checking these results too, to update Aeclectic's links, so you'll be doing us both a favor.)

Great idea, Astra, posting the LWB online! That allows you to update it as necessary, and saves printing costs! ;)

Okay, here's the first plug for our own websites: My Tarot Page! (http://www.athenaluna.com/tarot.htm) I try to include useful tarot tools on my website, some of which have their origins or inspiration on Aeclectic (such as the chart for Lunalafey's Houses Spread). There are also some charts and forms to assist individuals working through Mary Greer's 'Tarot for Yourself'. It will continue to grow as my experiences with Tarot evolve.

Looking over my huge list of tarot links (I can email you a web file of all of them if you like, just PM me!), I'd say some good ones would be:

The Tarot Hermitage (http://www.tarothermit.com/) is a great Tarot History site.

Christine Payne-Towler's Essays (http://www.astroprofile.com/tarotinfo.htm) from her book "Esoteric Tarot Revealed" and the "Tarot Magic" computer program are truly inspired.

The Pasteboard Masquerade (http://www.spiritone.com/~filipas/Masquerade/) is Mark Filipas' site, which has tremendous reviews of tarot decks.

And, of course, I must mention Tarot Passages! (http://www.tarotpassages.com/)

Good luck...I'm sure you'll receive a great many excellent site suggestions!

Peace,

Melvis

Even better than that, Melvis - it lets me put LOTS of white space on the individual card pages, so that if someone prints it out they've got room to take notes, or use them as the basis for a journal, or, well, whatever.

Thanks for your input, and, no, right now I don't want files of links, just those few each person can come up with off the top of their list. Someone else can compile a definitive directory (and try to keep it current!).

I just want to be able to say: these are favorite sites from participants in the Aeclectic Forum - enjoy!

http://www.tarotmoon.com/
she has some really good articles on Elemental dignities among other things.

http://www.geocities.com/Paris/2110/
Tarot inspiration is a site where people contribute their own interpretations to the Thoth tarot.

Since tarotpassages already been mentioned I thought I would push a bit for Wicce. Not updated for a while but still a good resource for deck reviews.

This is an old thread, but seemed to be the best way to post a link that I find very useful. Don’t know if most of you know it already, but here it goes: http://www.psyche.com/psyche/links/tarot.html

The Pasteboard Masquerade (http://www.spiritone.com/~filipas/Masquerade/) is Mark Filipas' site, which has tremendous reviews of tarot decks.I wasn't sure where to post this, because it isn't
exactly clear at this time what is happening now,
but the Mark Filipas websites seem to be down...

Has anyone heard anything? I have written Mark
but it's been a few days (holidays) and no reply.

I also noted that TarotPassages hasn't been updated since January 2006. I really liked that site.
