What does it mean to you?: Lapis Lazuli

Bluemanticore

Third time's the charm. :)

As I said in the amethyst and malachite threads, this is a survey, of sorts. Pretty much I'm asking what lapis lazuli means to you. Not what a book tells you lapis lazuli means, but what comes to your mind when you think about the powers of lapis lazuli. What do you feel when working with lapis lazuli? What do you use lapis lazuli for? Do you have a special connection to lapis lazuli? What elements, animals, plants, deities, etc. might you relate to lapis lazuli?
There is nothing wrong with lapis lazuli meaning to you what a book says it means also, of course, I am just curious what else comes to mind when a person does first use their own mind to think about a stone. Thanks again.

Sincerely,
BlueManticore

Blue is my favourite colour, and lapis is a gorgeous shade, so lapis means happiness and peacefulness to me. Also, the flecks of pyrite remind me of the night sky, so it also means heaven or indeed anything metaphorically celestial.

I keep a small piece of Lapis Lazuli with my Gendron Tarot, and its now the deck I find myself most comfortable using and I think that the lapis has a lot to do with it. I cant explain but it seems to give a deep connecting feeling to my gendron tarot.

I absolutely love lapis lazuli! It is my favourite crystal to wear around my neck.

I do own a very special necklace: I bought it cheaply on a flea market, and brought it to specialist who told me, after examining the stones, the way they are cut and drilled, that it is most likely that the jewel comes from India and was made 200 years ago! Just imagine...

I love lapis lazuli: it always calms me and helps me to focus, to keep a cool head.

Lapis lazuli..
"The stone of the magician"...hmm...Anything Is Possible!!!
(I keep a small piece in a "dream-bag" w/my labradorlite under my
pillow with a journal nearby.)
I simply love t/stone for its natural beauty alone.

I get a feeling of connecting with the vastness of the night sky - an a clear night you can see forever! Lapis lazuli and clear quartz are the two stones I use for inner calm before a reading.

Lapis Lazuli ...

The colours and markings in the stone make me think of looking into deep space, like looking at the stars, comets, clouds of dust. When I use lapis lazuli I feel that I am connecting intuitively but also to the mysteries of the universe - if that makes sense :)

I have a lapis lazuli stone cut into a pyramid (about 3 cms high) and often sit this on the table when I am reading the cards.

I have also found that it is great for headaches - I lay back and sit the pyramid on my forehead and close my eyes and after a little while my headache has eased. Even when I remove the lapis pyramid to go to sleep, I can still feel the square (base) of the pyramid on my forehead for quite some time.

I think that my arrowhead is made of lapis lazuli. It is light blue, grey/black, white, and has flecks of pyrite. The veins in the stone make it look like it was molten at some time, and four black dots are found in a white vein. It acts as a calming center in stressful situations, and allows for quick thinking in difficult situations.

This stone is one of the many in my new collections of the "basics," but is definitely one my favorite. I LOVE the blue color and the flecks of pyrite just seem to captivate me. I feel a tremendous sense of calm when i look at and feel this stone. Simply put, i love it!

I know that this is a thread from years ago, but I was happy to read about lapis lazuli being good for headaches. I recently felt an urge to buy a lapis lazuli chip necklace as well as a small pendent. And since I've been suffering from headaches lately, maybe that is a good thing.
