What would you have, as your 79th card, if you were getting the Gilded Tarot? This thread is for fantasy, of course. But it's fun to dream. I'd have my quote, "Angels Believe in You", and/or a picture of someone inspirational to me in my goals of getting into doing comedy writing/improv. So maybe I'd have John Ritter on mine. He is sorta like my "Angel" and a big inspiration to me. Or I'd have a drawing of an Angel.

What/Who would you have depicted on your 79th card?

Thanks for starting this thread, sunflowr! :D

I am looking forward to hearing about everyone's "dream card".....

I would also encourage anyone who already has a 79th card to tell us a little bit about how you decided on yours, and what it means to you....

Here's a link to my card again, for those of you who haven't seen it yet.

http://www.tarotforum.net/attachment.php?s=&postid=305832

It shows a picture of me, taken by my father when I was four, holding a toy guitar. It symbolizes to me the creativity, carefree spirit, fresh outlook, playfulness, spontaneity, and cheerful nature of childhood, which I wish I displayed more often as an adult. I wanted the card to be something that I could see as deep and meaningful, to add a useful card for readings, to give the deck an extra, personal dimension.

Thanks Oakie....

That is really beautiful....what a wonderful idea...taking a childhood photo and using it as a reminder of spirited youth....thanks for sharing something very personal with all of us! :)

Well....for me the idea was also to find something meaningful to represent me on this card. Since I did not want to use an actual photo, I was thinking more along the lines of symbolic imagery, and my focus was on my own spiritual journey....what has gotten me to this point, and where am I heading now???

I would like to share my 79th card here, as OakDragon did....

Meanwhile, I am looking forward to hearing from others, either about your "dream card" or actual 79th card....how would each of you want to see yourself represented as part of this deck???

:D Luna

I think it is lucky that I can't "spring" for a special edition GT right now!! I'd never be able to settle on what my 79th card should be. I could see it becoming an obsession to find the very best image.

Oakdragon's use of a childhood picture is brillant, of course, and I'd like to have a little of that childlike spirit back. LOL But I think I'd lean towards Luna's thinking...something symbolic that emphasized where I am now.

If I had the $$ for LE Gilded Tarot, my 79th card would be the *beautiful* 'Dolphinprincess' dolphin print that Ciro so generously emailed me :D :D He's the best!

I know what I would use. There is a picture I have of my Father about a year before he passed away. He had cancer and was in remission, so he set out to do as much as he could while he was able. It was the summer of 1976 and we went hiking up this mountain in the Hudson Valley called Anthony's Nose.

The picture is of my Father at the top of the mountain looking out over the beautiful view. My Mom took a picture. I remember this moment because he started to cry. I asked him why he was crying and he told me, "Mimi, I thought I would never see this again" (per the doctors, he should have been dead already)

Whenever I think life sucks, this image pops into my head and helps me realize life is not so bad and to live each day to the fullest. At the bottom of the card it would read, "Capture All the Joys of Life"

That would be a beautiful image!! It is those life alternating moments that resonant, that we use to build the rest of our life around. We never know when those moments will present themselves but it is our responsible to embrace them and hold them dear always.

If if you aren't able to purchase a special edition deck (please know you are in good company if you can't!! LOL) you should get a duplicate of that picture and keep it with your copy of the GT, Mimi. It will empower it for you, I'm sure!!

A tribute to a personal moment by Oakdragon:

Something about spontaneous moments captured, tarotwise, makes for great dimensions to a deck. I remember one of the aeclectic.net decks cards by someone who did something similar with his son (page or five of swords?) and it was one of my favorites.

Take care,

Here (again) is my 79th card.....apparently my post was lost during the hacking episode earlier this week.

I would like to thank Ciro for taking my suggestions and creating such an incredibly personal, meaningful card for me. Although I had a vague idea of what I wanted it to look like, the reality was even more perfect than I had imagined it would be....

I finally found the picture of my Dad that I was talking about. Not in the best shape, but boy did the memories come flooding back. Funny that I found it today, the same day my deck arrived in the mail.

Such a connection you have now to the deck!! I bet it's a good sign that the deck will be very good to you.

When I ordered my deck, I wanted more than anything else that the 79th card should say something about Ciro and/or how he saw the Gilded Tarot. When he asked me what I wanted on the card therefore, my answer was 'whatever YOU want'.

I was really thrilled when I opened the deck. The 79th card contained no picture, but a simple quote which for me sums the whole deck up in a nutshell. He couldn't have made a better choice. I've attached a scan below.

That is really cool Chris! I like that quote, and I like your way of picking the card.

Very special.

I ordered the phrase "Heart of Darkness, Eyes of Light, revealing the mystery of the night." for my 79th card. I added the secong half after the first just popped into my head one day. I think the addition makes it seem less dark.

Wow, the 79th card... If I could make the 79th card for my deck, I would have it be a Major Arcana card. It would be called 'The Reflection.' The card would be a depiction of a glass-smooth lake, and a little boy playing in the water, but his reflection is that of a girl. If reversed, the card would be a depiction of a girl standing in the water, and her reflection is that of a boy. The boy would be shown smiling and generally more carefree than the thoughtful look of the girl, who is afraid of the water. Everything else is perfectly reflected and you can't tell which one is the real thing or the reflection.

'The Reflection' would indicate a few things. Without using reversals, the card itself would mean:

1- The past is coming back in a disguised form. This could be an old friend, or even a letter from an old friend is on its way. Or possibly a dark secret coming back to haunt you. A fear? A family issue? Be true to yourself in the beginning so that the past does not keep you chained from your future.

If using reversals, the card could mean two different things:

1- If the boy is on top, and the girl is the reflection, it shows that you have an active outer shell, but have something hidden inside. You are holding a secret that you hide with every inch of your body. You are an upfront person and people generally go to you for advice. The boy sees the reflection in the water, which shows who he really is inside - a scared person...
2- If the girl is on top, you are acting like something or someone than yourself. You are trying to impress someone, and will end up getting hurt. This could also mean that you are fearing something that is inside of yourself... The girl is not afraid of the water, but rather what she sees in its reflection. She sees someone - a person she never thought she was, waiting to show himself to the world, but the girl's fear is keeping that from happening.

The Reflection acts as your conscience, telling you who you really are INSIDE should be who you present yourself to other people... it could be a sign that you aren't true to yourself. Continuing to do so could keep you from growing as much as you are capable of.

Mimi, thanks for sharing that picture of your dad. I like your idea for the 79th card.

Tarot Boy, that was a fabulous idea! I love it, and all the meanings you could assign to it.

Ok, if I were going to add a 79th card to my deck, I think it would be nothing but pure white. I believe there are some things in life we aren't meant to know or understand; some mystery is necessary in order for us to have faith. So if a plain white card showed up in your reading, it would tell you: you're a human, you can't know everything, but have faith: things are as they should be.

Has anyone ever thought of using an image of their childhood home as a 79th? I thought this could take on the meaning that one is where they should be. That they are on the right path toward their intended goals...Unfortunately, I do not possess an image of any kind pertaining to my childhood home. It's still a personalized card, and it speaks of security for some.

Second thought: If not one's childhood home, then why not their favorite meditation get-away, be it a room, or garden, or some other peace-inducing place ...?

If I were able to have a 79th card, it would be of a beautiful red or blonde-haired woman in a diaphonous gown made of sparkling stars ascending to the heavens on a cloud - one golden-shod foot is poised for the 'second' journey begun in innocence and trust. As the Fool take a leap of faith into the journey through this life to attain awareness and wisdom, so the woman is poised for the journey into the next phase of existence after bodily death.

It would be much akin in imagery to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin.

On each golden sandal would be a golden rose for the opening of the superconscious about to be revealed. The cloud would rise above a golden staircase that reaches into the heavens.

Having had a few close calls with death and having had accomanying visions at the time, this would be the imagery I would want on a 79th card, to remind me that there are other journeys following this, other tranformations.

INFINITE LIGHT

it would be a major arcana card.

It would be called "Self"

And it would have a mirror or a plastic mirror on it so you could see your own reflection.

It would be 22.

my idea for card #79...just an extra card, not a major arcana...
Inner Self card, a time to sit back and take inventory of oneself...it would depict a beautiful baroque style of mirror on a black marble mantle....

79th card. I once saw a picture by Ciro who I believe it was Keith Richards. An awesome 79th card indeed, rock on!
