Eggs

I was just wondering, does the egg shape have any significance? I was at a local strawberry festival recently (we have a lot of them in the holler, aka indiana) and there was a booth that specialized in gemstones for healing purposes. They sold a lot of different gemstones... in egg shapes, and i was drawn to a rose quartz egg. So is it just for decorative purpose or is there some symbolism/purpose? Also, a metaphysical shop down here recently had a sale on "all eggs"

According to Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Crystal, Gem and Metal Magic: "Stones that are egg-shaped are used to stimulate creativity and fresh ideas. They are also placed on the stone altar to bring 'fertility' to the ritual. In the past, small stones of this shape were carried by women to promote conception. Large ones can be buried in the garden for fertile plants."

larger ones are nice for massage, two different shaped ends to work with- warming them up first is nice too.

The shape of an egg is much like the planetary motions,
rather than going in a circle. Eggs are very efficient, and drops
of water 'pearl' in a kind of tear-shaped egglette.
