Does anyone know if it's possible to search only within the original post of a thread? It doesn't appear to be an option on the search page.

I'll give you an example of why I wanted to do this.

Say I want to search in the Spreads forum for a spread which will cheer me up (I already know about the Happy Smilie spread). There's not much point in searching through anything but the first post, since the person starting the thread would have given the reasons for posting the spread in their first post, such as "This spread is to cheer you up if you're sad."

Now this should probably go in the suggestions thread, but if there isn't the option to do this, is it possible &/or viable to set it up in the search function?

I don't think it is possible...never heard of it.

What you can do is tick the option "Search titles only". If the poster has given a sensible title to his post it is possible to find things that way.

Unfortunately, sensible titles aren't always given & aren't always possible.

Oh well. Doesn't matter. :)
