Someone has probably posted about this before, but I have a question about using runes. I've just made myself an Angel Rune set out of clay in accordance to the "Angels" book by Silver Ravenwolf. So far, only having them done and charged for two days, they've been working very well. However, I'm left a little confused as to the description of how to read them. Some of the runes' descriptions include inverted meanings. Normally, I would assume that this means upside down, but the book also says not to read the upside down ones. So...what does inverted mean? Does anyone have this book or understand what this means? It might help me get clearer messages from the runes. I guess I could always dictate to my angels that I do not want to use the inverted meanings, but it might help in the future to have that as a possibility. Any ideas?

I have no idea what 'Angel-Runes' are, as I usually refuse to read Silverwolfie's books...However, I'll answer this assuming they work like normal FuŞark Runes..

Usually the rule about discarding runes during a casting refers to 'Face-Down', ie, you can only see a blank side of the token.

Reversed meanings can be used if the rune is upside-down as it appears to you, or if it is somehow not related to the others...If you use runestaves, then if one passes under another, or if it is perpendicular to the angle of the other cast runes, then a reversed reading may be appropriate...
