I am sure this is a RUNE!!!

X

Nut I need to know something more...

Have you ever noticed that in genetics, Woman is XX (that RUNE!!!) and Man is XY???

Doesn't Y upside down mean "MAN"???

X is the rune for 'g', and signifies love and gifts...
There isn't really a Y rune, but there is one which has a three-pronged top...and it does mean 'man' when upside down...

But since X and Y were used as concepts by scientific convention, I'm not sure there's really a link...

Pollux, when you have two x's joined on top of each other, that's Ingwaz. It is representative of fertility and sexual union... Another Rune to reresent Man is the Rune Mannaz.. an M with a cross in between its depression...

Oops....sorry pollux! :)

To be honest, I've given up trying to tell serious from joke here, it causes too much friction...

This XX thing occurred to me during classes at UNI...
It is possible to spot feminine and masculine blood samples, because in White Blood Cells the XX cromosome is detatched form the rest oh the nucleus/core, forming a little conglomerate of its own that therefore identificates the sex (F) by its presence...

After the prof said this - there was a picture of a blood sample on the screen - I moved my eyes to my note-book, like when you stare at a picture and, moving your eyes away, you still see a projection of it... The point is I saw the XX on the white page... It was only yesterday that I realized it could be a Rune...

Malachite... probably I gave up too... especially as regards my very won posts! LOL ;)

Sorry for the mess... :P

That's only in mammals though Pollux-
In birds the female is ZW and the male is ZZ.
And in some reptiles the sex of the hatchlings is determined by how warm the incubated eggs are, not by genetics at all!

Just some interesting facts :)

I have read that it is possible for some creatures to actually Switch genders! For instance guppies. This is from memory so I could be wrong . I'm not sure if guppies are even born with a gender or if they can go either way at some point in their developement. I know that it takes maybe 3 weeks , something like that , to even be able to discern what sex the guppy is. I think I read it IS possible for the guppy to switch genders as an adult . I think it has a lot to do with the ratio of males to females in the tank or setting. If they are all males , one may just morph into a female , or vica versa!!!
