What are some fun ideas that anyone has about using Tarot cards for something other than using them in a "serious" reading? In other words, anything having to do with Tarot, but in an inventive and fun way. Tarot underwear for men=the Devil card printed on the front of the "whitey tighties." Perhaps we could have Tarot toilet paper that would have prints of the "crappy" cards on it. (swords,etc...)I've seen Tarot jewelry and such on the web, but never found anything that was a novelty item. This is strictly in fun, and if I by chance offend someone I'm truly sorry. My cards lately haven't been the best, so I'm not going to use this particular deck anymore. I don't want to read with them, but I wouldn't mind using them for something else other than them sitting in their container.........Once again, this is strictly in fun.

Theres a lot of games, I posted a link to one called Zarcana which is kind of a stategy game here like a week ago.

Using the cards to tell a story or writepoetry is popular

i vote for a 78 piece tarot china set. then there's pots, pans, silverware and the like. furniture w/ tarot designs in the pattern. a tarot sheet, comforter and curtain set. linoleum tile floor. for ugly, untradeable or useless decks--liner for bird cages. tarot nightwear. shower curtains, bathroom tiles, sofa pillows, rugs. tarot designs for your vehicle of choice. i want to be the martha stewart of decorating by tarot! LOL ;) of course, you have a variety of decks to choose from as to patterns. anyone getting married can use this as a gift registry for tarot based products. jewel? ;)

Hi guys..

I think I said this before, I played "Go Fished" with my Universal Waite deck.

It was a great way to teach my 6 yr old about roman numarals..

See what happens when you can't find a reg. deck of playing cards...lol

If you decide to make Tarot undies...which card would go on the front and which on the back....lol

It's me again!! How about an "Ace of Cups" cross your heart bra????????????For those A cup individuals....How about The Devil card condoms.....Isn't the Devil card sometimes suppossed to mean "raunchy sex life," anyways?? Now you can feel safer with your "little" devil......................The Empress pregnancy test...........Anymore???????If I was a guy I think I would definitely want the 10 of Wands on the front of my boxers. And for them to be anotamically correct!!!!!! On the back=The Hermit...Because that place is better left alone.......

A few years back a guy named Ricky Jay wrote a book (now OOP and sells for hundreds) called “Cards as Weapons”.

In it you were taught how to throw regular playing cards lethally. (for real)...

Imagine having to get a license to carry a concealed tarot.

It adds a whole new dimension to the Death Card.

“Card Fight at the OK Corral”

A three day waiting period for a RW.

And you folks in the UK…sorry, you’re out of luck.

And try taking a deck onto an airplane!

Carefull... some of the collectors around here might be wanting your undies... :P

I'm fond on art and like to dabble. So, I use tarot cards for inspiration when I can't think of what to draw. Photocopying cards and then tracing them would make good colouring book pages.
How about making your own greeting cards! I'm the Queen of Cups.
Namaste,

Kayne, interesting thing on the coasters. That was my first thought.
How about a "Fortune Teller" Barbie, and "Ken the Magician" dolls for Halloween? The clothing possibilities....hmmmm.
Barbie can even have "The Chariot" as her "car" to drive them around in.(I remember back in the old days of having
Barbie's van.) Instead of her old houses, you can purchase a "Barbie Tower."
I would love to have "life size" posters of Tarot cards that you can buy. I would definitely hang one up on the inside door of my bathroom. So when someone is using the facilities, they could look at (King of Swords) also sitting on "His Throne."

catlin
08-05-2002, 05:28
LOL why exactly the King of Swords? Wouldn't you be afraid that folks would get a problem under his stern look? Maybe King of Cups or King of Pentacles would be more inspiring ;) ;D

King of Swords was chosen because of the "Pissy" look on his face.....
Now if we put the Queen of Swords instead, she could be a firm reminder to PUT THE TOILET SEAT BACK DOWN!!!!Luckily, my boyfriend is well trained in that department.......Maybe we should just stick with The Hermit card.. Who really wants an audience when you're in there, anyways?!?

My boyfriend is "The Magician." Think about that one, and I'll tell you later what it means.LOL

Tarot Monopoly!

Or would that be "Taropoly"? "Moonopoly?"

Anyway, what would Boardwalk Be? The Tower? Or would cheap rent there make it more of Baltic Ave?

Oh- The Judgement Card Could be Jail! The suits could be the game pieces.

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!! i'll never see passing "go" the same again. ;) so would the utilities like waterworks be cups and railroads pentacles? who ever survives to the world wins? the devil is the go to jail space? the cheaper places early in the major arcana and the further up you get the more expensive? the tower you lose all your money? death you not only lose your turn but your life? boardwalk is in the sun so that could be the sun. i wonder if milton bradley would give us a copyright...!

mermaid, of course, ppl will buy tarot beanie babies! as p.t. barnum said,"a sucker is born every minute." some ppl have bought so many of them they can barely enter their homes. i never thought those chinese zodiac ones would sell-they were butt ugly. they've got beanie kids now and i think the fool-the hermit would work. the wheel of fortune would be hard to design. granted the hanged man, death, devil and tower would be a hard sell but you don't have to do them all. ;) temperance, the star and sun would work okay, too.

A tarot video game for the PS2! ("Final Fantasy Fool"?)

Let Squaresoft animate them and they can battle out the meaning for themselves, and gain valueable XP.

Is the repressed geek (who owns FF games out the wazoo) in me showing yet?

Oh, yeah- they need a Tarot Geek on "Beat the Geeks"!

the next new scifi/fantasy show "tarot trek"? soap opera--"as the world turns"? game show--"wheel of fortune"? instead of "king of the hill", king of cups, swords, pentacles or wands? instead of "the crocodile hunter", the tarot hunter? the tarot tv channel where you can do everything from buy decks, see reviews of new decks, watch authors/artists interviewed, see readings, watch movies about tarot like "the red violin", etc.

Who named Final Fantasy and a Tarot PSX game?

I just imagine the High Priestess going in Trance (even though Limit Break sounds nicer...): "Veil of Hisis", and she toss the veil, and a wave of shiny stars and rays knocks the enemies off...

And Phoenix might be the level one Summon for the Death Card or Judgement...

The Fool would be a squeaky birght-yellow Chocobo... ;)

And Red XIII might be Strength's lion...

Violet Gargoyle

I wouldn't think it would be hard, they (Squaresoft) already made Kingdom Hearts, a game that combines new FF characters to play with Disney cartoon characters. (No kidding, you are literally able to battle with Mickey!)

As far as the FF Tarot goes, the World could be one of those "World Maps"

The Devil could be "Sepiroth" from FFVII or Seymore from FFX.

The Fool could be Cloud, Titus, Or the guy with the tail in FFIX (I changed his name and his real one escapes me at the moment...)

It is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY nicer!!! Hol on, I will find a pic just for you.
First off it is not a lightning-spitting rat, but a gentle and sweet osterreich (corect spelling? I doubt it).
They have better powers: Who remembers Choco/Mog? LOL!!! :D
There are various types, and the one you get depends on the types that you breed and mate. Actually it depends on, on each single episode of FF the Chocobo thing Changes... It is most developed ion FF7 I think, and goes watered down then on probably :P

I know you are lazy, and don't feel like having a search for Chocobos... but I am lazier... :P

Monkey tail dude is Zidane ;)

Cid and his wife from 9 could be emperor and empress

High Priestess is tough, so many choices but Yuna from 10 is proably best

Magician is even tougher, way more choices, ut since shes my favorite character ever i vote for Lulu from 10, gotta love usig little dolls (golems) of popular final fantasy enemies as weapons.

chariot has to be an airship :)

Squall and Rinoa can be lovers

Yes, im one of the few females that play, i just started 10, well actually ive been playig about 20 hours now so i guess not just started lol

In Italy (Naples only, probably) there is Kitchen-Paper featuring Tarot Cards.
My auntie boght it once.
It only features Marseille Cards, and actually not all the 22 I think...

BUT I HAVE IT AND YOU DON'T!!! JEALOUS!? :P

Oh yeah! Zidane! I have this tendancy to change the main characters name to the same one (Zander) as an in-joke in our house.

I'm another one of the few, the proud, the chick RPG players. I'm more addicted to FF than my husband is, and I just finished FFX two weeks ago. Cant wait for FFXI.

Anyhow- Yuna as the High Priestess? Lulu would make a good Magician, so would Vivi from IX. Aeron for the Hanged Man? A picture of the PS2 console for the World, I think.....

Wow. I stand corrected. :D

Am I the only one here who has played Magical Drop? This is a Neo-Geo arcade and Game Boy game that I have a ROM for, for use with the fabulous application MAME (something-or-other Arcade Machine Emulator, I think). It's a puzzle game with falling marbles that you have to clear, sort of similar to Bust-a-Move; but the characters are the Major Arcana. They differ in their attack patterns (the patterns in which the marbles fall). Magical Drop 2 has only 9 or so characters to choose from, but MD 3 has all 22, plus a second Strength. And when you play against the computer, each Arcanum that you play against has his or her own theme song and everything.

This game is insanely addictive.

Here are some screenshots: www.vgmuseum.com/images/01/md3.html

Here is a FAQ: http://db.gamefaqs.com/coinop/arcade/file/magical_drop_3_misc.txt

I have played both magical drop 2 and 3..currently looking for F for the Playstation..Yes, it is addictive not to mention interesting. The sad thing is that the story mode( more on story mode) is only available in the Japanese version and each character have a unique voice compared to the other versions.

also i seen a Tarot deck based on them..only 22. Too bad it's out-of-print T_T. I like to have one if it's still possible.

say, who's your favorite in there by the way? Mine would have to be The Star, and Temperance
