The 3 Angels

poivre

First time ever in a reading I seen the 3 Angels in a row with the RWS.

Temperance, Judgement, The Lovers

I find it interesting when something like this shows up.
I never thought about the 3 Angels being together in a 3 card spread.

What do you think Waite would think if he saw this? lol

Any input about these Angels?

I would think it has to do with ones "higher self". Individual Spiritual growth and direction.

Wow, were there other cards in the spread too or just these? I'd think that it would be about synthesizing some sort of opposing forces (oil and water) or energies (personalities?), finding an understanding of what it creates or is all about (knowing what you need to do) and then being able to come to some sort of unifiying conclusion, making a choice based on what you have learned from the other two.

It could almost be literal, I see someone looking at a table of ...oh, say hair products, and the challenge is someone wants something done but their coloring or hair type won't work with what you have, maybe you have to "whip" up your own concoction. Or maybe they have treated their hair so badly with too many colorings or perms or bad cuts, you have to really call on all your talents to "raise the dead" and transform this into something vibrant and living again, it's like you are inspired and know just what to do, the choice is suddenly obvious and the customer thinks you are the best!

It's just crazy how these three cards could be read so many different kinds of ways...this was just an off the wall one.

Awhile back it occurred to me that Gabriel only blows a horn
in the Gospel tunes, and so I checked my Encyclopaedia to see.
Comparing what I found with the cards in the Tarot revealed:

VI The Lovers features Gabriel, complete with rainbow wings.
XIV Temperance aligns with Raphael, patron of travellers.
XVI The Tower has an energetic Uriel thundering just offstage.
XX Judgement brings Michael at last, performing her known duties.

Most books follow after each other, but all of this is available
to anyone who might find it interesting to study in detail :)

You might begin like I did, looking in the Encyclopaedia Britannica
~ or simply put on a smile (even online) and visit the local library.

I am interested in studying this in detail.

Where did this information come from?

Angelic musings...

[XX] Michael is the symbol of "Divine Justice." Her name signifies
"she who is like God" and she is considered the greatest of all angels.

[VI] Gabriel is the Angel of Annunciation, she brings Compassion
and she is the divine messenger who reveals God's will to humanity.

[XIV] Raphael is the Angel of Dawn, the Protector of the Earth,
which she heals, and the Chief of the Virtues. Her name means
"God has healed" and she is known as the "divine physician."

[XVI] Uriel means "light of God" and she is referred to as the
"fire of God." She is also known as the "flame of the sun" and
she protects against lightning, thunder, volcanic eruptions, etc.

Yes, but what reason is there to believe that these (Arch)angels are the ones depicted in the cards you say they are?

I hope that my few observations here have been of some interest
to those who enjoy studying all the many possible interpretations
of the Pamela Colman Smith Tarot. May her Angels brightly sing!

Interesting, all three angels... Charlie's Angels springs to mind (saw the film the other day), maybe it means there's something ahead that's going to require all your strength and cunning and the Angels are right behind you, backing you up from Above, kinda like Mother Nature in 'It's Raining Men' taking on the Heavens and doing what she has to do....

(Hee Hee Hee!!!)
