I had a friend over today, an astrologer and she introduced me to Lilith and WOW, was I blown away!!!!

I never knew the story of Lilith (Adam's first wife) and my astrology took on a new dimension today, quite an epihany.

Anyone had any experiences or could share any knowledge....I would be truly grateful :)

I have an Astrology program that has Black-Moon - Lilth indicated in the Natal Chart that is generated. If you are interested Lilth's positon at the time of your birth you can PM me your details (date of birth, time, place), and I would be happy to generate a chart for you and email it. :)

Let me know...it IS quite interesting. I stumbled upon it while doing my Astrology Twist with Lunalafey.

Hi TA. There are several bodies and abstract points in space being referred to as Lilith nowadays, and their orbits or positions don't coincide. What was thought to be an orbiting dust cloud was assigned the name of Lilith some years ago, but nowadays when astrologers refer to Lilith, they generally mean the empty focus, or most distant point from earth (apogee), of the Moon's orbit. There is also an asteroid named Lilith. A Google search on Lilith in astrology yields some information (such as http://www.astro.com/astrology/in_lilith_e.htm), and there are several books out on the subject. The best work on Lilith comes from Claude Weiss in Europe, but I am not aware of his having a website.

It was late, I didn't explain myself properly: my astrology friend was over and introduced me to Lilith via my natal chart and current transits. It was like a big wake up call for me.

Thanks for your kind offer.

In between I have it in the 7th house (with Pluto and Uranus)...yisers....

Thanks Astraea :)

Hi, here are some more links I found about Black Moon-Lilith:

these two are translations from french by Google:

LILITH: Triangulation; competing; selection & rejection; decisions (regarding angle or aspects;) divided loyalties; favoritism; gender stereotypes; use of sex or rejection for dominance.

Black moon lillith is the point between the Earth and the Moon that creates a gravity well, it is currently in the moons ruling sign, Cancer quickly starting a conjunction to Saturn and an opposition to Chiron. When this conjunction becomes more apparant, I will mention it in one of my other posts.

It looks like you were asking about the Asteroid Lillith, TA? If so, TreeHouse Mountian (link posted by Paradoxx) is a terrific asteriod resource..

there are three Lilliths..Black Moon Lillith, Asteriod Lillith, and Dark Moon W'Math (Lillith)

an interesting article (with references) on all three here:
http://www.horusset.com/RIKB/Lillith.pdf

**posted the wrong link the first time..sorry!**

I've had discussions with friends about the Black Moon Lillith (not the Asteriod) and there is a sense amongst us that one thing the point could be indicative of is where one feels or has felt unsupported...its interesting to think about in the light of where Black Moon Lillith falls in the cart and the aspects it makes..

So far I've not attempted to weave the three together..

I haven't done anything with Asteriod Lillith..what did you learn from your friend? :D

thanks for the great links, Astrea and jumptothemoon!

edited to add: here is an interesting proposal about the Three Lilliths by Demetra George taken from "The Black Moon Book" page 5

'All three Lilith's each contain the entire symbolic meaning of the archetype. However if we were to attempt to distinguish between them, I can propose a tentative theory with which astrologers can experiment. The three astronomical Liliths correspond to the new moon White Virgin, full moon Red Mother, and dark moon Black Crone phases of the Triple Moon Goddess. The cycle of our Lilith experiences is initiated by the asteroid Lilith, developed by the Dark Moon Lilith, and completed by the Black Moon Liltlh.'

And to add to the confusion, Black Moon Lilith has a "mean" position, and a "true" or "osculating" position! The mean position is nice and smooth and neat, whereas the osculating position swings back and forwards wildly (and is much more Lilith-like in that respect!).

Most astrology programs only give the mean position, and there wasn't an ephemeris available for true positions, so I've produced one. You're welcome to download these freely (but if you give a copy to anyone else, please don't charge them for it, or I'll set Lilith on you!) - each ephemeris is in PDF format, and shows daily mean and true positions:
