Depression/cranky mood?

My boyfriend has endtered what he calls "The Dark Teatime of the Soul". He's been very irratable, and quite depressed. Is there and crystal that could help diminish this mood?

I did a quick look through my limited resources and I found"
Bloodstone
Lapis Lazuli, dark w/ pyrite
Quartz Smokey

In oils I found
Bergamot and smuding

I know this is more then you asked for but I have a mother with clincial depression and I know how frustrating it can be at times.
