Quartz Crystal Singing Bowls

What would be my most comfortable approach,
and what are some of the things I should know,
to begin to experience the crystal singing bowls
and even some related 'instruments' at home?

The first site lists the note relating to each chakra. That helps, because I'm not sure how precisely the diameters relate to each note on in-between sizes. Do you know?

I've just recently attending a sound healing session where we played an A bowl that was totally amazing and felt wonderful! I'd love to get one of these but would want to play it or know what note I was getting.

I once was in a shop where the owner played his huge crystal bowl for me--it was about a 24" diameter--totally bone rattling and cathedral-filling. Wow!

I'd have a hard time choosing a tone, love the low ones!

I have one of these, now carefully stored for the duration. It is at least 12 inches across.

Have you ever put about two inches of water in your singing bowl before you 'use' it? The sound waves make terriffic patterns on the water!

Anyone ever play one outdoors? I once played on in a large library room at the school I was working at and the sound fills any space!

Have you tried any of the cds that use the tones ?

Back in July of 2002 after 3 weeks in the hospital,
(they mostly just kept me alive and did "tests"),
I found myself in an almost continuous state of
heightened awareness... I couldn't describe it but
the best I came up with was it was like music was
in my life ~ time flowed, like music, rather than
with the fixed perspective of immediate images.

Music is in everything, and I found no matter how
deeply I looked at questions about life's meanings,
it was the oneness of actuality, the present reality,
the allness of the vast forever in every moment that
made me feel alive, purposeful, part of everything.

Crystal singing bowls appeal to my sense of unity,
the vitality of the physical realm in constant flux.

I guess that means no . I have found the cds to be very helpful .

Hello Dark Inquisitor Sadly no I haven't considered cds.
I want to sit naked in the moonlight and harmonize myself.

I have a crystal bowl CD and it's lovely, but nothing like the visceral, bone-vibrating (not from volume) effect of playing or sitting by a played bowl. The impact is not through the ears, but through the whole body.
