have a look, these are nice ;-)

I was going to mention an adorable little anime (i prefer anime to manga for some reason, maybe to avoid mango confusion lol) dek i was given as a gift. It used to be pictured at tarotgarden but sine i got their last copy and aparently they cant find a place to reorder from, the took it offline.
Its really cute, its a very small size (like tiny universal waite size i think) and it is basially rider wait redrawn in anime style. More the round chuby style (like original Dragonball) than the long slender style of the decks you mention.
Unfortunately since id have no way to replace it the cards are small, and not made of the best quality cardstock, i wont often use it to read, and when i do itll be very carefully

The decks look beautiful, Kaz.
I always wanted to pick up some Manga themed decks, I have seen the CLAMP deck on ebay. I think I have seena Gundam one too somewhere. The ones from your link are done very well.
Currently the only one that sorta comes close in my current collection is the Amano one.
Oh wait- I take that back, I do have a chinese version of the Cardcaptor Sakura deck, not really a tarot, but could serve a goofy sort of oracle. The "book" talks in a really high pitched voice, and everything is very pink, the cards and everything. Its intresting to do a spread but I never tried it on other people.
I got my daughter the English one because she watches the show, but she tends to do the 52 pickup spread with them on my living room floor.

Liliana: FYI, we never take anything offline. We only remove items from our Boutique and offline inventory when we no longer have a copy in stock nor an available source for reordering. Everything we've ever posted on our site remains in our database, accessible via the "QuickSearch" feature found in the upper left-hand corner of most of our site pages. If you don't know the name or an author/designer/illustrator for the deck, you can use our advanced search page to search by more "nebulous" criteria, such as country of publication or theme. Our advanced search page is located at:
http://www.tarotgarden.com/database/dbsearchadv.html
...and we have a growing number of anime/manga-based tarots listed. Doing an advanced search on the combination of "Japan" for "Country of Publication" and "Comics / Animation / Cartoons / Anime / Manga" for the "Category/Theme" will bring up most, if not all, of the anime/manga decks we've currently managed to get scanned (more to come, eventually!)
For everyone else: the deck Liliana is referring to is known in English as the "Pocketable Tarot" (as in, it fits in your pocket). And I can quite imagine how difficult it would be to do an actual reading with cards that small! Have you tried it yet, Liliana? It's not all that much bigger than the "Tiny Tarot" edition that U.S. Games publishes of the R/W - Hanson-Roberts "Universal Tarot."
Personally, I'm a real manga/anime tarot junkie. I'm not sure why, though, because I really don't watch anime or read manga, although I have a lot of friends who do...

...It's Jeannette this time, but no matter -- LOL! We take turns reading and contributing to the chat boards, because we don't both have time to do it and handle our portions of the business matters at the same time. Thus the "shared handle." I'm "on duty" at present (and probably will be for some time -- LOL again!)

That's 'cuz "Pocketable" is spelled with a "c"... ;)
(Not to worry; everthing you've noted below is definitely *my* muckup.)
...However, it's good to know what terms people use when searching our database, as I'm able to put in "alternative" search words for our listings (common misspellings, alternate common names, etc.) in order to maximize the chances of a "hit." So I've added "poketable" to our list of matching search words for this entry.

Yikes! Yes, I've got a "bug" alright -- it's known as "Jeannette's fried brain cells!" That'll teach me to copy an existing text link and change the text without changing the link!!! They're fixed now -- thanks so much for the "heads up!"

I think Cardcaptor is a very cute and neat show. I use to want the cards also, seen them in Media Play here in Charlotte, but I didn't know if I should get it or not. But now since you've mentioned that you have them, I think I may have to check them out myself.
Kaz,
I LOVE the cards featured on the site. Absolutely beautiful.

Well it wasnt typoed when i searched lol
i have a few keys that only type half the time so i have to typo check before searching lol
I got the Fantasy Tarot (a.k.a. the Miracle Tarot) in a trade here :) ... the minors are unillustrated but the deck is quite lovely. The accompanying book is in Japanase, which means I will not be reading it any time in this lifetime :P but I am thrilled to have it as part of my collection.
Hi
I really like this thread and the cards that Kaz linked us to.
Has anyone go any more links to Anime / Manga?
This has given me a mission!

Moonman/Seb:
Here's the link to what's in the Tarot Garden database so far:
http://www.tarotgarden.com/database/dbsearchengine.php?view_country=japan&view_category=comics
This is only the Japanese anime/manga stuff; we do have one Chinese manga, the Passion Tarot, that you can bring up if you do a manual QuickSearch on the word "Passion."
I probably have half as many again sitting on the pile, waiting to be scanned and entered, so you could probably check back every so often and see new stuff.

As Jewel said above, the minors are unillustrated, but the rest of the deck is gorgeous--especially the court cards. It has some very nontraditional interpretations of certain cards, I think, (or...while the little book suggests one interpretation, I think that the cards themselves suggest something different...) but it's a deck that's really grown on me.
The illustrator of the deck is a manga author who's done three fabulous, intense manga series, so I bought the deck the second I saw it.
I'd be able to do a translation of the booklet into English, if anyone's interested...it would be a shame not to be able to read with such a pretty deck. (I have a few problems reading with it myself, because I don't know the meanings of the minor arcana well, but it calls to me anyway).

I've got one manga deck.
The one that is listed here as the Moon Princess Himiko (or Love and Mystery Tarot). Wicce.com and Tarotpassages.com talk about it's beautiful art. Aces and courts are pretty, but pips 2-10 look like tiny buttons.
There's a book that looks like Greek to this Americanized soul.
If they had known that Americans would like a romanized translation, perhaps there'd be a chance some of us could pick out words in the book...in any case, the art is lovely and the titles in English show a Rider Waite ordering.
Because I liked Japanese motifs and enjoyed the Ukiyoe tarots, I treat this as a tarot with tales to tell me...but if you don't like comic book or Japanese woodcut art, this might seem cartoonish.
I don't know the story behind this deck, but I like it very much.

I have the Rose Knight and I really like it. I have to get over the unillustrated pips (tends to be a downer for me with some of my decks) however, I'm still glad that I have it.
Fillanzea, hello and let me say a warm welcome to you. Glad you're here at ATF! :)
When you speak of translating to English, I take it to mean that you could translate from the Japanese version (Miracle). I think I saw on Tarotgarden that there may be a Chinese version of the Miracle entitled "Fantasy." Well, be that as it may, my Rose Knight book is in Chinese and that is so frustrating for me - can you help at all with that? You know I just thought of something - even if you could, you wouldn't be able to without the book, right? Duh! I think I need to lie down now.
Ok. If you ever get it, let me know, ok? I think it's very cool. It's my first manga/anime deck. I also like, but, don't have . . . ahem . . . yet, Moon Princess, Passion and the Oki Mondo Derakkhusu ban Hihou.
Enjoy!!

and has a book with color text in the first insert with color pages of the majors. ALL the cards have color pictures and it is the most like Rider Waite, with gorgeous colors like the Diamond or Gilded or Revelations--but very very close to to Rider Waite with a few exceptions--there's perhaps five to ten more girls as main characters in the cards. Although I seem to see a good assortment of males as well, so I don't think it's biasted too much in favor of one or another.
If I had another, I would probably trim the very pretty borders, but these are well-done and it's a very pretty deck.
The book has a kind of color manga/graphic novel illustration feel of a "Fool's Journey" in the color inserts at the front of the book.
I got mine through Manga-Art. It's misnamed, but it's supposed to be Energy Tarot. The very pretty Asian woman photographed on the cover looks like a younger woman, but is not actually in the cards--the cards are illustrated.

have just purchased a new Manga / Taiwanese deck.
There is a seller on ebay who sells managa tarot cards, and some of the latest decks are beautiful. At last I saw a good one which did have the minors illustrated as well!
Check out:
Energy tarot (full 78 illustrated)
Shurei Etoile Holy Mother Mary Tarot Astrolgy Card Deck (majors only)
Venus Gold Star Love tarot (the most beautiful majors only deck I have seen in a long time)
Rose Knight tarot
Tarot of Love (majors only)
Shame they are so expensive inclusive of the postage..... I think they are worthy decks for sure.

They are very nice. I just looked at the scans - I thought I'd seen all the decks Mangaart offers. I had never seen this one. I love the fact that ALL the cards are illustrated and from what I've seen, they are similar to Rider-Waite. The colors are, of course, beautiful. I just wish these darn cards weren't so expensive. The manga decks are up there in cost. It's true that they usually come with a book, but, it's often in Chinese or Japanese, rendering it useless to anyone, like myself, who doesn't read, either. Alas! :)
It'll still be high on my wishlist.

The Moon, Chariot have dragons as the animals in the cards, feel more Asian--but I'm buzzing from a lecture on East Asian mythology of dragons with divine women. The seven of cups has a dragonlike touch in the winged being in one of the cups and the ace of cups has a serpent face that speaks dragon to me--but probably will say 'reptile snake' to most others.
The colors are not like any Rider Waite that I can remember, but in the book, there's a tinted photo of the "Original" Rider Waite, as if that was one of the resources/sources of the images. The coloring reminds me of the jewel tones of the Revelations.
I know when I originally mentioned the Energy Tarot on Manga Art, I saw it was misspelled on the site...hope others could access the scans. I like that the cover picture of the box shows its aimed at youngish women and while fantasy-feel, the women and men depicted are strong as well as gentle.

I got the "manga tarot", but I wish that it wasn't so much girl centered in the meanings.
