View Full Version : All Hands, brace for the impact of mercury retrograde

Summers heating up, and so are tempers:

Venus and Mercury in Leo are moving in tandem, and mercury is slowing down and putting on the stops, venus is not. Saturn makes his presence known while opposing chiron.

Here we go again:

Saturn and Chiron in opposition is a familiar situaiton, it's been this way on and off and now on again for the last year. The two only this year broke their opposition to one another, lending to that steady but paced stepping foreward. Not everything has been easy to accomplish, and the specifics of each scenerio are being felt as each link the chain is being tugged on.

Mercury and Venus: Firy duo once again

Paired off in Sagittarius and Aries earlier, the duo make the circule complete with the final fire conjunction in regal leo. Difficult decisions have to be made, and the person best qualified will get them implemented. Challanges are everpresent, and yet there is little to worry about, the positive energy that was present will be put to good use, the enthusuasim doesn't have to be with out direction. Maybe your thinking on too small of a scope, try to get a broader perspective.

Saturn movign full steam ahead determiens the schedule, positive mercury energies will come sooner or later, but don't expect to babel a whole lot. Countrymen and Farmers take note, sudden changes might change your convoy and worker scheduling during the harvest season if it falls in this 9 week retrograde period with mercury going direct on the 15th of august and catching up for three weeks afterr into september.

Mercury going stationary and retrograde puts schedules, technology, travel, and human intellegence to the test. Mercury retrogrades 3 times a year and when it does, certain things move foreward, others things just plain don't.

Making this opposition even more unreal is the multi-planet stellum opposition to single retrograding Neptune. Neptune location is where the collective needs of humanity are expressed, and in Aquarius the broad reaching goals are being met with human reactions. In retrograde, we are rethinking our goals, and how we are to achieve them, the lesser elements of the situation cannot be overlooked, as they make up in collective a heavyweighted element of the situation, ignoring this fact leads to dismay and negative results.

Mercury retrograde will bring out the distrust, and do so with a fevered pitch so that nothing gets left out. Venus will fuel the creative juices, now lodged so close to mercury that the two are almost one in the same right now, a double morning star essentially. Headstrong energies are rocking the boat, just in conjunction with the north node, Mars has set the tone for the next few weeks, and all the passion and fiery drive that has been doused out is back.

Jupiter direct will help financial situaitons get stable, but current events are teh result of this last Jupiter and Saturn retrograde cycles over 2004-2005.

With Mercury going retro, I'll be re-doing all of my photography for my web-site I was not satisfied with its quality, so I asked for help and out of the bule came help from an AT member (of course). So, I've been coached and taught quite a bit that I didn't know before and the results are quite an improvement. So, a few weeks more work before I can go live on the Internet. Typical stuff for a retro Mercury. You don't fight it, you go with it. Dave.

Are we sure Mercury hasn't started working its magic already? It sure seems like it! First a reconciled (well....formerly anyways) relationship goes haywire, and the the extreme juxtaposition of births and deaths lately...wow. It's either very, very good, or very, very bad lately. No in-between.

I didn't know that Mercury was in retrograde until I read this, it would make a lot of sense. This is the time that I tend to make mountains out of molehills and start getting frustrated that things are not moving the way I wish it would, due to one thing or another, appears to be whatever it is out of my control.

But at the same time, having said that, I am one of the fortunate ones who seem to profit from the Mercury retrograde.

mercury won't go retrograde until the 22nd, but yes the effects are starting to pop up. I lost my internet connection yesterday, and it is still down, I am doing this from another cpu terminal. Ironically, I really didn't miss it that much.

i'm at the library. called in sick with a migraine today cause i just couldn't be at in the real world...paul my on/off boyfriend/friend has clearly stated that we can't spend so much time together cause we just bring each other down...friendships are meant to build up and support one another not tear down and made to feel so small...work too has been that way this week. monday a professor came into the lunch room yelling at me that i ordered the wrong chemical...while i was just starting to eat my lunch! well i send out email confirmations from the vendors for this reason to verify i placed the order and to also catch mistakes. we both apologized but that set the tone for the week.

hence the need to ride around and be in my own little world. to take care of me and my needs and have done great! laundry, banking, video return, emails at the library :-) and walking thru the emotions of whatever is going on w/my chart and merc retro...being a triple cancer i'm so watery it's geting to be a pain in the neck. i want to be strong and forward thinking...etc..ya know what i mean.

I have a pain in my neck right now, and I'm wondering if Saturn might have some influence there.

maya del mar, and her website www.daykeeperjournal.com

her archives are very complete day by day and general monthly activities (retrogrades, asteroids, and sometimes even blackholes). Saturn is always that major influence that won't go away, but when it does the landscape is totally different.

I'll search around and give some links.

However, Mercury retrograde has disabled my primary internet connection somehow, I think the nic needs replaced, and I got car troubles (the hood is deformed). I noticed some communication troubles at Taco Johns and Main Street Market, also there was a bit of stress on the road when the train was crossing Main Street so slowly that traffic backed up to West C and East B.

I, too, feel like Mercury's already gone retrograde. In amongst it all, I'm making plans to travel from Australia to the States on 7th August - urk! I know what it's like trying to do just about anything with Mercury wretchrograde!

And, to top it off, the Sabian Symbol for the retrograde is Leo 21: Intoxicated Chickens Dizzily Flapping Their Wings Trying to Fly... hmmn, the image invokes all kinds of things in me in the light of my flying to the States ;)

This Sabian Symbol just adds to the story... 'chickens' aren't meant to 'fly' and 'intoxicated chickens' can make a real mash of trying to get anything done.

Heaven help us! And the opposition to Neptune to boot.

I guess this retrograde, in Leo as well, is asking us to keep our sense of humour close to hand at all times!

Greetings from DownUnder

Some people in power might be trying to get you to respond with your emotional side (When Leo is badly aspected, pompusness promotes this) and want you to say something that might get you in trouble or even fired.

If you haven't read the latest post in "asteroid watch" you might want to, there are couple of asteroids in play with mercury and venus that might impact your business workplace or anything else that would be under the sun.

This all makes good sense. People in power at my work are, in fact, on a rampage, trying to provoke as many people from our group into wanting to quit before having to impose a large-scale layoff. They are making work/life balance extremely difficult, sabotaging career paths and being generally rude and provocative in most social situations! And in many other situations I feel I am also being provoked by major differences in personal style. I appreciate the feedback and will continue to watch these reports with interest.

I think I'm going to hide under the covers, tape my mouth shut, shut off my cell, and wait till Mercury straightens out.

I would, but it's too late. This week alone:

1) A letter from the IRS (the tax guys) saying we owed more income tax for 2003. Turns out my SO donated some money to a non-profit, forgot to get a receipt, and the non-profit's dead and gone. No way to go back and get the records.

2) A letter from a giant retail organization saying a certain agreement has expired. But it hasn't. Of course, I can't find our original paper work to prove my side of it.

3) A letter from the couple who do the 'block watch' where we live. Mostly it should be about notifying us about potential safety problems -- car vandalism, making sure kids can walk safely to school, etc.

This one said that five people had complained about unsightly litter, too many weeds per yard, etc., etc., etc. That means that SO and I are about the only ones who haven't complained. I suspect that it's about a rental house across the street where a family with about three teen age boys have moved in. The lawn gets mowed when the teen agers get around to it, there are, I think three cars. None of them at all new.

I don't know the family at all, but if they're like most families with growing kids, the parents have all they can do to put food on the table and pay the rent. Who cares about a few dandelions? The yard looks about like ours did when our boys were in their teens. No biggee there.

I think the neighbors who care about such superficial things should move into a gated community.

When I'm reincarnated, I'm going to request/insist on a planet where there are no stupid, shallow people.

4) I made a major blunder in some professional work. I am retired, but I volunteered to do some publicity for an organization I belong to. It's really humiliating to do such dumb things in a profession in which you spent 20 years.

When's Mercury returning to the straight and narrow? How about tomorrow?

Seeing as Mercury is on the verge of a retro, would it be wise to have my car looked at in light of some strange pings coming from it now?
If the car breaks down during the Merc retro, is it safe to say that the mechanic servicing the car wouldn't be able to find the problem or would just BS me and take an inordinate amount of money for nothing?
The reason I ask is because I haven't had the best luck with car health.

Had plans this week at my ocean side cottage to do some woodcarving. My electric powered carving tool died. I took it apart, checked the brushes for the motor, cleaned it out, put it together again --- dead. Now I'll have to buy new equipment as it will take some time to get it repaired. Another instance of plans delayed and electrical things that go wrong. Dave

Mercury's cousin Phaethon (astaroid 3200) is entering Gemini, this puts a lot of pressure on the concept of travel (and increases travel too, think Sturgis), take care and buckle up, be alert and don't make things more difficult--remember to take a deep breath when you need it.

As it turns out, I'll have to take the car in anyway since I'm planning to get away in a couple of weeks.

Until I discovered that Mercury had gone retrograde I failed to understand my current feeling of 'urgh!'. Things actually started to go 'urgh' with the Saturn moving into Leo.

I wanted to ask for some guidance here as my knowledge of astrology is amateur. Is it significant at this time that I have Mercury and Venus in Leo and also Leo Sun and Moon and Saturn is in Cancer, which it just moved out of and into Leo for my general 'urgh'ness? It seems to have eased a bit but during July 16-28 feeling very flat.

I know there is a blackhole named ceranus at 10 to 12 Leo, between where the sun and saturn are and where mercury is moving backwards from. Also mars has entered Taurus where he will retorgrade in november and chiron in retrograde has re-entered capricorn. This shift could be like a winding road in the mountains, the turns coupled with the elevation causes distress in the mind and body, don't hesitate to seperate yourself from the rest of th world if you need to be reoriented.

Right behind you Bec! My "Hermit" has emerged from his "cave" to say he's happy as he is at the moment, thank you very much - and off he trotted. He's a Leo - probably explains everything! no only partial, the rest can wait until after the stationary direct.

Since the new moon has zipped foreward past mercury, and mercury has closed in on the Sun, this is a good time to review how we communicate, voice and body. Get a tape recorder and tape yourself talking, see how your voice changes, or get a video camera and watch yourself stand and move, see how what is behind you affects how you present yourself.

Earthsign bound Venus and Mars (Virgo and Taurus) are challanging eachother with wits and skillset, even if those skills are outdated (figure this one out) and devalued. Mars wants steady paced action, Venus wants quick results and the details can be done later. Impatient is the bull, unwilling to be diverted from his goals. Flirtatious is Virgo, with energy to spare; placements in this sign will be amped up, especialy if you have Mars in virgo, don't assume everything will go over well.

Moon trine Pluto will be interesting, it will set the tone for the latter half of the day (well the latter half of the day in the U.S.A., Can., Mex.) This is an action-reaction day, already there have been reports of another (!!!) Earthquake in Indonesia and a Russian Sub is caught under the water with its propeller jammed in fishnet. As the day develops, so will these stories and thus the shift of awareness will continue into the weekend.

The day will be active with that lunar/plutonian trine, but after 5:30EST the energy will wane and the moon will go Void of Course until the next day, with the mercury retrograde this is a good day to finish up, retouch things, keep the energy balanced, but not get too relaxed, thats for later when we need the rest.

Mer rxs' have never been a good or smooth time for me..they say that its good for those born with Mer rx...NOT!. Mer rx in Leo has joined Saturn in Leo in my 12th. I'm still not fully recouperated from Saturn in Cancer for the past two years in my 12th. Now Saturn and Mercury in Leo are squaring my natal Venus/Moon and transiting Mars in Taurus. These all might in part explain my redorating disasters. I guess from the feeling to "do" something...change, restructure something tangiably or to get tangiable results. The 12th house is not so much about tangiablility...so I think its the Taurus side of things that perhaps translates the "ethers" of the 12th house into form. But I really think of course the change also needs to and is coming from deeper within. I've put off dealing with very important things until after this rx has passed through. I cohabitate with a very Scorpio/Virgo rising person...as you know Venus is currently in Virgo. We are both driving each other IN-SANE!! To top is off I'm living in a hot and humid 90 degree weather non-stop heatwave....tell me this IS..the "Twilight Zone" ...if it gets any better I'll be singing looney tunes.

I have learned throughout the years of Mercury rx to take certain precautions and be wary of the effect .

I have two computers at home, so, if one would crash I would have a backup for most of the data, which fortunately didn't happen this Mercury rx. I also make sure not to start any endeavors during this period, but to wait out what has already been done or a few days after Mercury goes direct to initiate any new ones .

It doesn't mean that I have had no frustrations this time around by any means. For example I found that communicating with people becomes knotty and information is not moving as fast and smooth as I would like it to. Also the The cheque is in the mail thing which I like to re-phrase as the package is in the mail has actually been lost, which is a rare mis-hap, but nevertheless very real during this Mercury rx.

I guess the worst may be over, but not entirely. We will have to wait a few more days after Mercury goes direct to claim to be in the safe zone. . . .

At the start of this mercury retrograde, my internet connection went down, the bandwidth was there but there was no throughput, and I had just started being a Moderator. I had to share a computer with the rest of my family (hence my limited availablilty to be moderator) for the last three weeks. Then yesterday, the connection went blank again and then started up all by itself, and this time my computer got the connection as well, just as mercury goes stationary.

And to emphasize the stationary degree of mercury, Mars is in square to the communicator from sturdy Taurus. Communication between people will depend on teh people themselves, some will trip over their words, others will be able to say things w/o issue or hesitation.

As mercury slows downa and gets ready to go direct, I had the privilage of encountering friends I had not seen in quite a while, over the phone, and in person, all without any pre-arranged situaitons.

Now the mercury is direct again, we can start focusing on what is really important for the greater good. The moon entering Capricorn brings us down for a hiwel, but only to review what must be weeeded out and removed. To assist in this change of direction is Venus entering Libra over the next couple of days. No longer restricted to virgo (who has the reputation of being prudish and puritan) and into libra where balance can be achieved.

mercury will pick up strength after wedensday, until then keep your patience with people, especially over the phone.
