CLEANING (not cleansing) a crystal?

sagewriter

Hey there, this may sound dumb/odd, but how do I clean my crystals?

I keep some by my bed and they tend to gather dust, my amethyst and celestite clusters are the worst for this! I'm guessing I shouldn't use normal polish and a cloth, incase they damage the crystals (plus the cloth will get caught on the cluster).

So what is the best way to get rid of dust?

Thank you!

Water - I just run mine under the tap then dry them with a cloth.

I usually clean mine under the tap, with a mild soap, and a largeish artist's paintbrush. Works for just about everything, including spilled apple juice. *looks askance at kids*

Any Quartz- smokey, rose, clear, amithyst....all can be cleaned with just water. In fact when they are dug out of the ground and coated with the iron ore, they get a chemical cleaning. So you are pretty safe cleaning quartz.
But if you have chinese flourite.....don't get it anywhere near water....dust it with a brush.
