Hi All,
I've been dabbling in Tarot for a number of years, only recently have I seriously started to study Tarot with Tarot for Yourself - Mary K Greer and Learning Tarot for Beginners - Joan Bunning. Two very good books. Using Rider-Waite because that's what is at the book store when I was pulled toward the "New Age" section.

I'm somewhat familiar with the Celtic Cross spread for general, love and other life experiences however I would like to do some past life work. Especially for myself, I'm sure I'm not the only one here who feels like she's been in human form more than once. I believe I have a very old soul and would like to find out my true purpose is in human form. According to Tarot for Yourself, my soul card is the High Priestess...I'm still meditating on the card and it's meaning. My Persona card is the Queen of Cups...both I'm sure are relating to each other. And will appear in the Past Life spread somewhere..

Your guidance and instruction would be so greatly appreciated. I so am ready to learn to tap into my intuition and the power of the cards!

Blessed BE!
PG

Konraads past life spred is wonderful! there are several posts on this floating around. If you go to the study group forum, under general, someone bumped these up a few days ago. Thirteen provided the frame work on how to do it, and several of us did the spread so you can see examples of how it reads. It speaks first to your childhood, work, and relationships in this life and in the 4th throne you have your past life that is influencing your current life. This spread was dead on for me.

Hi,

I can recommend the past life spread of the book "How to use tarot spreads" by S. Abraham. It is a 15-card spread.

thanks, that sounds a lot simpler to use. is it as detailed? i'll look up the book on my library link.

Sorry the 15 card spread cannot compeed with the Konraad spread but I think it is easier for a first glimpse.

PurpleGoddess, the Konraad spread is not as complicated as it looks (in my opinion), basically you have 5 readings in one. One reading per throne (childhood, work life, relationships, and past life) and when you do the past life part all of sudden they all tie together. Do not let the number of cards intimidate you.

I can't wait to try this spread out for myself, but it requires my full attention, so I have to find the right moment. :) Anyhow, I wish you good luck on yours!

hi,
I have not tried it my self, but have gotten response from users saying this is a neat and very easy read spread

http://www.anjastarot.dk/spreads/homemades/kyriesummerSpread.htm

kyriesummer's own past life spread, setting up the then and now against eachother, which to me sounds very useful, making this reading on past lives in first place give some sense and use in your here life.

This is a 20 card spread; you'll need two decks (that's not a problem for anyone here is it? LOL), one for the past life, one for the present life.

Separate each deck into Courts, Majors and Minors and shuffle each pile. Lay out the cards of the first deck:

Present Life:-----------------3--------------------

-------------------1-------------------2----------

-------------------4----5----6----7----8----------

------------------------9---------10--------------

Now lay out the cards as above with the second deck; this is your past life.

1: (Court Card) You (in this life/in the past life)
2: (Court Card) Your partner (in this/past life)
3: (Minor) The overall quality of your relationship
4-8: (Minors) depends on your intuition. The cards can be read as a timeline = the development of the relationship, or as "typical" situations/problems/characteristic themes of the relationship.
9: (Major): Your karmic lesson
10: (Major) Your partner's karmic lesson

Don't be surprised if the same cards turn up in the past and the present life ...

Oh my gosh - too funny! Not what your past life was, but I shouldn't have had a mouthful of coffee when reading your post!

Thanks for all of the great spreads about this topic. I am really intrigued and want to try some of the spreads today.

Question for those of you that use more than two decks in the same spread (I've yet to do this); does it matter what types of decks they are? Do you find that some of your decks don't get along?

in the love business? could've been a match-maker of the old days.

i've got so many spreads to play with...it's definitely going to build my intuition! my energy!

A match-maker? Probably, after I retired <laughs hysterically>

Starfish: I let my intuition guide me - the decks change with the question, the spread, my mood, probably the phase of the moon <g> ... For the Past Live Relationship spread I used the Hudes Tarot for the present life and the Old English for the past life.

LOL You shouldn't worry about it though, at least it didn't suggest you killed many people or something (I know someone who got a reading done and was told they murdered someone in the Medieval era...but then again, that occurred often back then, didn't it?) :) Either way, I believe we are meant to know things in past readings for a reason, whether it's linked to a current issue/phobia or anything like that.
