crystals for banishing magic and cleansing

i'm planning on doing a banishing and cleasing spell to rid myself of all the things i no longer need or want in my life.
i instictively thought of obsidian to be a good crystal to use for this type of magic.
would i be right to use this, or are there any other stones that would be better to assist me?

Obsidian would be good, as would rutilated quartz. If you feel that someone has evil or violent thoughts about you, keep a piece of jet (cleansed) on you or very close by.

Black Tourmaline is also good. Smokey Quartz is good and it
doesn't have to be cleansed. Make sure that the stone that you choose
is cleansed after it is used.
