View Full Version : do you always 'run into' the same star signs?

This has been bothering me for awhile now.. I seem to encounter people of various sun signs again and again, while other signs have virtually no knowledge of.

For instance, I've made a habit of remembering people's sun signs for about seven or eight years. I have known many virgos, far too many scorpios, a fair smattering of leos and capricorns and the odd pisces. But other signs - aries, gemini, libra, cancer - are completely foreign to me. No notable friends, co-workers or family members. And oddly, I have no real idea of saggitarians other than myself.

Now, I'm sure it's probably just a numbers thing. I've always had pretty small groups of friends through school, my workplaces have been small, I don't have a large extended family. So the base of people I'm taking these observations from is not really broad enough for reliable statistics. I'm a fan of the logical explanation and I'd really like to put it down to co-incidence, but it's just so ODD.

Do you guys find you run into particular sun signs over and over again? What are your thoughts - coincidence? Or is is possible some people are just 'drawn' into encounters with particular signs?

I think the latter is part of the explanation. At least part of our personality "quirks" can be related to Sun sign, I think. And it's not so odd to see that some people are drawn to some personality types and not others, and so would be more likely to make acquaintance with the people to whom they were drawn by personality.

As you already noted, the size of the "crowd" a person hangs with - for business, family gatherings, pleasure, etc. - would also have bearing on how many of which Sun sign one would meet. In my profession (legal), I have noted a preponderance of the Sun signs who tend to have assertive traits to their personalities. Since the law deals so much with logic and is largely fact-based, it does not tend to draw and retain people who are more esoteric. . .

I've noticed it for a while and even in other people. One of my friends always seems to date scorpios. I think I have a lot of earth signs around me, and few air signs. I only have a little gemini and aquarius in my chart, so I can only get a glimpse of how they are.

I'm not sure why it happens, but I think some of us seem to draw certain types, but it is probably just an unconscious, unnoticable thing.

I'm glad I haven't just dreamed it up, then :D sharpchick, I'd say you're right for most cases, certain personality types finding themselves in similar situations. The workplace idea is an interesting one - I work in hospitality, I've never really considered if my current workplace has a lot of one sign or the other.. something to investigate!

The thing I find weird is that in my life, this 'trend' is the same for people i have no choice meeting.. family members, people i've come to be friends with over a long time, who i wouldn't necessarily have gravitated to easily upon meeting.. so I can't put it down entirely to compatible personalities!

You certainly havenīt dreamt this up, it happens to me too, and Iīve talked about it with people that realized that they too seem to run into the same signs.
For example, Iīm always surrounded by libras. Itīs almost ridiculous how many.
Then someone in this forum made me notice that my third house (which stands for communication) is in libra. Also, I have Pluto in libra bringing all sorts of intensity to my perpetual interation with libras.
Makes sense, no?
Thereīs probably a way to figure these things out with your chart too!

Yes it happens to me as well. I keep meeting aquarians and libras, a number of every other signs. I never meet Arians or Cancerians, for a couple of years now.

I agree with this it is very common and it is interesting what feticeira said that there must be some link with your chart.

For a period of about 5 years everyone I dated and most of my friends were Leos. Now most of the Leos have dropped out of my life (apart from my beautiful son) but I seem to have a mass of Geminis in the ranks. ...but then again as feticeira says I have a lot of gemini in my chart.

On the other side, I have known virtually no Libras, no Picies and no Sagos...so there you go....

Someone once said to me (and I know this is not definitive as sun signs make up little of one's true chart) that if the people in your life reflect one or more predominant star sign then you are lacking in these attributes.

For example when I knew a lot of Leos I needed a little fire and confidence in myself and in my life and these people were there to teach me that.
Each sign would have the stereotypical thing attached to it that would indicate the lack of whatever one would need to learn.

Anyone know though what the Gemini would be there to teach? I am stumped on that one! Guess if I knew though they would disappear and next lesson would come in

I'm no expert, but I guess 'stereotypically' gemini would have to do with communication, and maybe attention to small details? also of course duality is a theme with gemini.. maybe getting to know contrasting sides of yourself or something!

I haven't ever done an indepth birth chart on myself, something i'd like to do but never get around to. also, i have to wait for my mother to get back from holiday so i can ask her about my birth time. i'm faaairly sure, however, that my moon and ascendant are both gemini.. but still i haven't known any. maybe there's enough gemini in my chart that i don't 'need' to meet them?

Jupiter is the depositer in my chart for every planet. In the natural chart, the twelfth house, attributed to pisces, taurus rules. My sun is in the sixth house, which (in the natural chart) is virgo. These two signs seem to show up more often than most.

I have only noticed a slight outnumbering of these signs however, so it is not very pronounced for me. I also have noticed a lot of everything in my chart so maybe I dont have that "vibe" that only attracts certain types.

And I've noticed other sagittarius's to not like me

Gemini to me has quick speed in most of what they do. They tend to try to connect to others through communication, mainly verbal which is their nature. I would see the gemini lesson as to not take life so seriously and connect with others, as this is usually a superficial relationship.

Gemini's also tend to be awesome with children (tongue in cheek) -- some might say it's because they never grow up!

I find myself that I never really can get into the water signs. I have two waters in the planets and one in the IX house. Otherwise all air and fire. I also lack in the earth signs...one mars virgo and one taurus in the XI house... Up until recently I hadn't any contact with earth signs besides my father (virgo father with female sag child -- someone thought they were being funny up there).

Consequently I find that almost all the people that I run into or socialize with tend to be fire or air sun signs, though in some cases Libras run under my skin the wrong way (go figure, since I have three of those represented).

Interesting, though because a year ago I kept running into Sags and all the people I was hanging out with were Sags, before that it was Leos and now I seem to attract a large amount of Ariens...however the kicker is my BF - virgo with mostly water in his chart and one air, one fire.... we're a weird combo. ;O)

For me, it's Taureans. Three close friends (one from school, one from work, and one I dated) have their birthdays on May 2nd. My brother's is on May 7th, my best friend's on May 11th, another friend's on May 17th, and my grandmother's on May 18th.

And I have my Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars in Leo, and Moon in Aquarius, so you wouldn't get along with these people! ;)

But I'm Scorpio rising, so these people all have Suns that fall in my 7th house of partnerships, and are near my Part of Fortune.

LOL
Yeah wait for the kicker -- my biological mother was a LEO and my step-mother (who raised and lived with me) was a GEMINI.

I used to run into Libras all the time as a child, and my best friend in Geneva AND in England (where I would spend my summer holidays, at my grandmother's) were both Libras. But now, apart from a sweet interlude with a sweet Libra man a few years ago, I hardly ever meet them. Odd.

Since my late teens it has been mainly fire and water signs that I gravitate towards - not that surprising given my Pisces sun and Sag moon - as well as the water-fire theme throughout my chart. I am irresistibly attracted to Geminis, and they always end up by breaking my heart :( (men and women), but not as much as Scorpio men, who scourge it. But that's another story for another thread. My rising sign is Gemini, so that might explain the attraction. My closest friends are either Sagittarian, Leo and Aries (respectively 2, 2 and 1); or Cancer and Scorpio. My man is a Pisces-Leo Sun-Moon combo. I have a Taurus friend who used to be very dear to me, but we've drifted apart, though we keep in touch because I am godmother to her daughter. My weirdest repetitive sign encounter is Virgos - my mother is one, but also, I always find myself developing strange and rather beautiful friendships with these much maligned people. In fact, I love the Virgos in my life, even though they drive me a bit crazy (and no doubt, vice-versa). Must be the attraction of opposite. With the exception of my north node, I don't have a single earth sign associated with personal planets; but I have, like all my generation, Pluto and Uranus in Virgo; and an aspect to my Sun for both of these (opposition).

hmm i read somewhere in an article on astrology that if you belong to a particular sign u tend to mix with people from the signs that falls either before or after yours. e.g if i am pisces i tend to meet more aquarius and aries. i think it said that pisces tend to hang around more with aquarius and aries will tend to hang out more often with pisces than other star signs. which for me is quite accurate in my situation. not sure if anyone here has came across that piece of article.:cool2:

This is accurate for me, at least at this time in my life. When you take relatives out of the picture (i figure you can't help them), it's all scorpios and capricorns.

I have a cancer asc and leo moon but not sure how the aries fit in because they're all at the other end of the year! Weird... well unless that extends to two months before and then it would be the sun sign aries are attracted to the cancer asc...?

One thing my Mom said, that makes much sense of late for romantic relationships, is that I tend to get involved with men that have a water asc like me... regardless of sun sign. Makes sense if you think about it!

I had a scorpio tendency...actually a scorpio problem - especially with running into new romantic interests (NN in Scorpio in the 8th house). Thought I found one that was "safe" and non-scorpio - when I got around to calculating the chart - Scorpio Rising!

The opposite end of the spectrum - rarely have I had a lot of Taurus' to deal with...or cancers. (Mars/PoF/SN in Taurus in the 2nd, Saturn in Cancer/5th)

Interesting topic. I'm Scorpio with Leo rising and, as a supervisor, hired two Aries employees. We've worked more than a decade together and I have the same problem with both. They both want to do things their own ways and its pretty tough to change their minds if they have a certain way of doing something.

My boyfriend is a Leo and we get on famously. Perhaps not likely given our fixed signs and combination of fire and water but we both have a desire to keep conflict to a minimum and I think that serves us well. His sister, a very strong Aries, can be very frustrating and loves to debate ... argh!

In my workplace (Psyc dept. of university) there are an awful lot of people (mostly faculty members) who have birthdays late in November and December. Curious.

I tend to believe we attract people to us because we have something to learn from them or them from us.

I have learned much from Libras and Pisceans, not always pleasant but now realize was necessary at the time. I rarely run into Taurus. I had the pleasure of dating a couple of Taurus men a couple of years back and was interesting. I have Sun, Moon ,Mercury, North Node in Taurus and we got along just fine. Didn't last though-LOL!I'd like to run into more but haven't.

Hehe well - I know this has definitly happened to me... as i mention sun signs, i mean in general people who have mostly these signs in their planets, ok? (im alot of leo - cancer - which explains why i get on better with fire and water signs)

as a teenager, i had alot of librans around me, close friends, male and female, and the one libran who broke my heart...(who had alot of scorpio planets in his chart) (and then i went on a mission to break it back, but thats a whole different story)...Im just surprised why I havent got any scorpio planets at all in my chart...
Then there were the scorpio men in my life... ive always been attracted to scorpio men, I could never see them as "just friends", and on the other hand the scorpio women in my life, have always been long lasting friendships.(or generally women with alot of scorpio planets i find) This, i guess, shows the intesity between me and scorpios in general.
And then theres the virgos... i married one once,(he also had alot of scorpio planets mind you...) and at the same time my best friend was a virgo. I seemed to "act" very differently around them, more prim and proper - but im alot nuttier than that, so when i dumped hubby, i seemed to act more myself, and the virgo best friend seemed to drift away too...too conservative for a nutty moo like me...
At the mo, i have alot of aries and leo friends, and of course the scorpio friends, who have been in my life throughout....
Ive always had leo friends, male and female, but have never been attracted to a leo before.

So in summary - these are a few of my planets:

sun - leo
rising - virgo
moon - aries
mars - cancer
venus - leo

men ive been mostly been attracted to: virgo (as a teenager only)
.................................................. ....libra
.................................................. ....scorpio

my best friends: virgos (as a teenager only)
.......................scorpios
.......................librans
.......................leos

People ive clashed with: geminis
.................................taurus
.................................capricorn
.................................but most of all - aquarius
.................................some aries - but ive always had from one extreme to the next with aries...

gosh ive really gone on havent i....

The funny thing here, I went through a time when I bumped into, and knew a lot of earth signs, being a Virgo sun sign, Taurus moon, Capricorn ascendant, hardly surprising, I guess. But, having said that they are the ones that I had the most difficulty with at the time, it is almost that by me not liking them, or them just simply getting on my nerves then that was pointing out bits about myself that I didn't like. Thankfully I have grown out of that, and I seem to get along with without being extremely annoyed by the earth signs.

Usually, for some strange reason, I attract a lot of Aquarians, a few Geminis, and a few Librans. It is not a strange reason when I really think about it, as my oldest brother is an Aquarius, my mum is a Gemini, and my middle brother being a Libra (I'm the youngest).

Seem to not attract so many water signs, or fire signs.

I was wondering about the same thing..Because i mainly have cancer and aquarius capricorn around..only 3 kinds of people lol..

I dont have one single fire-person around me

Mostly air and water-and only capricorn as earth.

This happens to me too. I'm a capricorn with virgo rising. My two best friends are also earth signs - one virgo, one capricorn. But more strikingly, any man I am attracted to usually turns out to be a virgo. My partner is one, as were 2 exes. I strongly believe in astrology - not Russell Grant style day to day horoscopes (although I read them!) but the sun sign traits we carry. I think we're instinctively attracted to people who share similar qualities to ourselves, or maybe in the case of partners, to each other.

I'm with Chubby Mummy. I'm also a Leo.
The funny story regarding sun signs is I had 2 boyfriends in a row both born on the 11th March they drove me absolutely nuts, picky picky picky!! We Were lucky to last 5 minutes. LOL!!
Then had a flat mate, female also born on the 11th March. Again Picky Picky Picky. Drove me nuts!!!! This all happened within 18 months.Learnt my lesson Hehe... Love em as friends to hang around with and have a laugh but never ever can i live with a Pisces. My Mum is also a Pisces born 13 March, I left home Young, Couldnt stand it any longer. I love her dearly and we get along fantastic now, Put me and a Pisces under the same roof in a living arrangement and firecrackers go off every 5 minutes. I really am no good with Water signs, Even though i have a few Cancerian traits., Love the looks of Scorpio's and can have any sign as a friend. But can only live with Earth & Air & Fire signs.

edited to mention both Hubby's are earth signs, 1st hubby was a Virgo, and 2nd hubby and still is Hubby a Capricorn.
