Could you be a little more specific? There are many decks with similar titles.

Hi Leea,

Do you mean the Russian Gypsy Fortune telling cards? http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/russian-gypsy-fortunetelling/

Thanks for answering. They are simply called "Gypsy Furtune Telling
cards" , supposed to be "a republication of a famous fortune telling book writen in teh 1920's by one Gypsy Rickwood..." Julia Parker, an astrologer (according to the back of the book with the cards) has "tranlsated the original questions and answers to suit today's lifestyles..."

The deck is really a regular deck of playing cards, but the book has specific questions you can ask, and whatever card is drawn, you look under that suit, find the card number and get your answer-so they aren't Tarot-maybe more oracle?? I got them at books-a million, looks like this edition was published in 2003 by St, Martin Press.

Any comments would be appreciated..Oh, I tried it once, asked a question-and got answered with a question..did make me thiink, however!

If it is the Russian gipsy FTcards, then they are great! the only thing is that you need to 'study' or memorize' the meanings for each direction the cards are at. in hte beginning you ened to use the book, but the more you use them the more you learn on your own. it is very intuitive for me i find. right now it is lost inmy basement with the fairires oracle!! aarrhgggghh!!! they have been calling me to find them adn i don't know where to look for them anymore. anyways, the deck is very very accurate, scary accurate sometimes, so be careful who you read it to and how you convey the information about the reading.

the cardstock is not sturdy so it gets worn out easily.

The russsian gypsy fortune telling cards are great, takes a while to get to grips with them, but well worth the effort.

I don't have this deck, but I am using a regular pack of playing cards at the moment. I have been discussing the method I use this morning with others here. I just read the Amazon review that Lee posted and the book does not come across that well in it. If you are interested in a really good method of reading the cards that does not require looking up book meanings every couple of minutes, let me know and I will post the link.

Hi Magpie

I am currently using it and have passed it on to Kilts Knave.

I will add the link to a thread I started this morning, which explains it a little better and means I do not have to duplicate here. The link is in the thread.

As it says there, there is another page for further understanding, which can be found at the bottom of the page on the site.

Would be interested in your views.

Thanks, LitleBuddha, I have printed both out, and can see it will keep me busy for a while--it looks very promising, like it would work well.

You're welcome Magpie. I have printed mine out as well and keep it in a slim file. It is transportable enough to stick in my bag, so when I am not sleeping on the train on my way to work in the morning, I have a little read. and it does work well. Of course, being new to the system, it does take time, but I do get less blanks than with tarot readings. As I mentioned before, it does loosen one up with reading in general, so even though the meanings are slightly different to that of the tarot, it does help the reading of other oracles and structures in sequence, rather than the stiff interpretation of a single card.

Hope you enjoy. Let us know if you make some progress with it.
Best, LB

i just use it for few weeks lately. i found some difficulities too. i rather let my feeling flow than stick to the meaning written on the card. i wonder if there's any other sperad for this card

I just ordered this deck and book that goes with them. I was immediately drawn to the artistry of the pictures in the cards. Plus, I have heard many of you say that they are great. I have a Lenormand deck, but these RGFT are so beautiful.

Hi Leea,

do you mean the gipsy fortune telling cards by piatnik, with the meanings written in 6 languages on the cards? origin austrian-hungarian, looking like these:
http://www.zigeuner-karten.com/verschiebeseite.php

if you use them there is nearly no literature about. only 2 hungarian books are very useful to me (i use these cards). the meaning of the cards is written on them, so they are very easy to learn. But sometimes there is a meaning behind. for example 'letter' means also a secret. if you use these cards and need further information, i will try to help you. maybe together we are able to find out
