View Full Version : Corner Cutters
OK, I looked and looked for this information here, and couldn't really find it, so I hope I am not duplicating a thread but I don't think I am.
Where do you guys get corner cutters? What sources do you recommend? Are there different kinds? Are some better for tarot-type cardstock in general than others? Are some better for diferent KINDS of tarot-type cardstock?
Thanks :)
Most craft stores, scrapbooking stores, and even our local Wal*Mart has punches that do different shapes, patterns, etc. Fiskars has stamps and even corner scissors.
If you ask for "corner punches" in places like Micheals, Hobby Lobby, AC Moore, etc, they'll know exactly what you're talking about. :)
Here are some links for *examples.* I wouldn't buy from these guys... You can getthe punches at places like Wal*Mart and craft stores for like $10-$15 and cheaper if you take advantage of frequent sales at craft stores.

Thanks so much, Acadia! I have a Michael's across the road from my job :D
So, I take it that if I want a plain corner cutter that basically duplicates standard card corners, I ask for a "corner rounder?"
Yup! Either a corner rounder or sometimes they're called a "round corner punch," but if you ask for either one, they'll know what you're talking about. :)
Here's a tip:
They have a 40% off coupon at Michaels this week, get the coupon from a flyer or ask for them to apply the coupon to your purchace. Or, if you're lucky enough to get flyers from them, it should be right in the flyer. :)

Practice with it first, sometimes the paper doesn't sit all the way in and a chunk gets taken out of one edge when you punch it. Instead of a smooth round you get a semicircle with a little jag at each end. You should be able to test it at the store if it's not packaged in plastic.
Thanks so much, guys. Acadia, I will get on that sale. Hudson -- thank you for the advice, I will practice on something unimportant, and also I got a silly LOTR as my first cutting deck (don't worry, it was REAL cheap :D) , 'cause I decided I like the art and I will attempt to cut everything else off and round the corners correctly.
My! This IS exciting :)
