Does anyone use tarot to try to determine where something might happen?

Are there associations from suit to environment? (cups = ocean, air= desert for example)

yes, but not with any particular formula, just by looking intuitively at the image.

My friend and I tried this last night actually with our respective decks, asking about her next romantic liaison, and where she would meet him. Both of our (different) cards had a sun shining very prominently, & we both agreed it would be at a festival we're going to soon, called run to the sun.

Abella started a thread in the readings section a couple of weeks ago about figuring out location using tarot, but I'm not sure how she was doing it.

Oh how very interesting, I never thought of location. I am anxious to hear about this.
