I always love to see new and creative decks develop that stray from the more conventional tarot imagery and would love to see more of your work!
Creators path is a great name for an artistic tarot deck and it would be great to see on which creative path tarot has led you.
Well thank you for the encouragment...I spent the evening posting 20 of the Tarot drawings and Paintings on my fine art gallery-actualy I added a new gallery - some people have had problems finding the gallerys the menu tags are small but from the profile page look on the left for IMAGE GALLERY and then on the left of that image is a drop down menu and Creators Path is the 4th one down.....nothing there is set in stone...
Hi-Baba The Fool is an acrylic painting on canvass...if it looks digatized I paint in layers ...going from broad gesture and warm against cool areas
the pictures on the Web site are bigger and you can see the details much better
So I put my URL on my profile page and it is enabled
Please let me know if you have any problems...

These cards/paintings are wonderful, and so vibrant and full of life! Are the figures on the cards based on actual people, or do they come from your creative imagination?
Looking forward to your progress on this wonderful deck!
Very nice cards vibrant in colors and full of dynamic energy.
I would like to know the ideas behind each card they look so very different to the images that I’m used to
Worried about exposing yourself????? While I understand that feeling, you have no reason at all to worry, and not because we are a friendly bunch of souls. This is beautiful. I am constantly amazed by the different creative vision's we have here ... and your fool, though completely different from my 'in process fool' speaks to me on a level that mine doesn't. I'm dripping envy - but in the nicest possible way. Oh to be an artist, like you and Temperlyne, rather than a mere painter.
I can't wait to explore your work. I'm off to you profile now to click and drool.
mythos:)
I don't know if anyone can relate...but when I was 40 I gave birth to a perfect baby girl...after having 3 misscarages in my 30's I was astounded at this gift of perfection...then at five months she began to DIE and during a month of awful test and proding all they could figure out was she just wasn't absorbing any nutrients,no matter how or what she ate...some friends asked if their Christian prayer group could come lay hands on her...How could it hurt right?...She was healed ,her hair and body started growing...
Well they saw my Extesive colection of Tarot and Astrology books ,charts and cards and asked me to despose of them in a way that they would not "tempt" anyone else...and I did it...threw it all in the trash...as an exercise in Willingness...I found my way out of the maze of Dogma and found peace in my soul ...thensix months ago a friend for 8 years attacked me as "a wich" the devil...she left all the paintings and gifts I'd given her in a pile at my front door...even work she had purchased!...It Hurt and I miss my friend...so you all are like a drink of water in the desert!

I'm sorry. What a sad thing to go through! I understand, because my paternal aunt is like the friend you described. I too came out of the "dogma"; only to find a world of beautiful people....many right here on AT.
Thank you for sharing that your daughter was healed. I believe the LOVE of Christ healed your daughter; despite the weakenesses of those who channeled this healing. Sadly, I believe it is a terrible misunderstanding of Jesus and the scriptures, that leads people to these wretched acts of discrimination and hatred.
I am glad you are here and sharing your gifts with us.
Blessings,

Sadly, I believe it is a terrible misunderstanding of Jesus and the scriptures, that leads people to these wretched acts of discrimination and hatred.
I completely agree! I was driven away from "the flock" but not from my faith. It saddens me when fanatics twist lessons of peace, generosity, and love to justify horrible behavior. Doing so makes "Christians as a whole" look like judgmental, horrible people.
Most rational Christians aren't like those fanatics. As a rational Christians I don't need to separate myself from things like tarot cards for fear that "my soul will be lost." My faith is stronger than that.
I like to think of tarot as a tool to aide me with self-evaluation/reflection of things happening in my life. If I choose to change my behavior, because of something I read in a spread of cards, my decisions will also be rooted in what my heart tells me is the right thing to do. Tarot and religion don't have to be exclusive.

I just read your story here and saw your gorgeous fool card...and I was extremely moved...
After now veiwing your webpage and other art...all I can say is your creations contain such joy, and power and beauty, that I sat here, sort of stunned by it all for a few minutes before I could reply.
Thank you so much, Wings.
For sharing your Self, your Light, and your Courage with us.
Your deck has a magnitude that you probably don't realize yet.
But it is going to be something very very special.
I am in awe.

Many Blessings,

Wow...Thank You . . .You get it...and strange2 BLESS you for the language to help define in words what I am doing...the Image of a Queen of Swords emerges in my work before I ever saw my first Tarot Deck...The Strong woman able to protect her self, a Queen, respected and recognized...then I learned that she is an air sign...Misstress of the mental realms...I am a Libra...My newest "Queen of Air" is my interpritation of the aspects of
her that could be called "The Passionate Receptive Mind " but I tend to get carried away and the red background is difficult to reproduce...and all my King's and Queens are done in a differant medium...but this series and the path of Tarot to me came to represent the path of the soul...and the receptive mind is one of the levels of Initiation into the wonder that the spiritual perspective gives us...I believe each Royal is a level of spiritual mastery(?)perhaps level of understanding; of the realm or power of the manifest world and that each of these realms have an active(King) and a receptive(Queen) component that need's to be found within the self...
I'vebeen doing a lot of reading and learning so much here at AT...but the
Glowing aceptence and connection I've recieved are so afferming...big Mahalos...

Bless you Wings, and may love come to you from every direction to help heal your hurt. Its' hard when a friend leaves especially from a misunderstanding like this. I am working on designing a deck right now and I have to be oh, so careful and private about it. I have a really good feeling about you, Wings and that, with empathy, you will apply what you've learned from this situation and be able to help others.
Good luck,
nettletea
Wings ... your work is breath-taking. You have such power and talent, and yet there is a gentlness and glory in your painting that leaves me speechless. I feel like I am getting to see and feel the numinous. Your faith shines through in your work and is far greater than any pettiness and narrow-mindedness that seems to grow in places where people see themselves as being, in some way, chosen.

Wings, these cards are unbelievably beautiful. The Hierophant is a card I usually have difficulty with - to me it often smacks of dry, institutionalised religious or educational structures.
But this Hierophant is mindblowingly beautiful... and somehow touching. It opens a whole new vista for me. Thank you.
Are you going to publish this deck? Please say yes. If you start a waiting list, please put my name on it. And don't worry, I can wait - we tarotphiles are patient, of necessity. :)
blessings on you and your work,
Kate
Yes I never cared for the traditional Heriophant as the teacher...my Heriophant is the teacher of truth the one who carries the seeds of enlightment in his left hand...but once we over come and master the lessons of fire, air, water and earth...we become the teacher in a succession of passing on the light...Yes I am in touch with Tarot Press and these will be published first a majors only deck;then a full deck...when its going to press I will shout it from the roof tops........Aloha, Anna
Wow. You know your Tarot. I love the Bhudda enthroned within the Tree of Life...pretty intense stuff.
At first there was a feeling about the technique that reminded me of the Templar Tarot, but I think your work is really so much more outstanding. What really comes thru is that your cards sort of echo so much of what people are talking about in metaphysics today....
The World card with all the rainbows and the children, seems like a study of the Crystal, the Rainbows and the Indigo children.
I really like the multicultural stuff as well, and it still all has a flow. It doesn't feel contrived.
Nice work.

Hi wings !
Mahalo for your invitation to Kauai. Iīve never been to Hawai, but when I ever will be there I surely will visit Kauai and have a look on your paintings. You may also be my guest in Konstanz, if you ever will be here at the "Bodensee" (lake of Konstanz). And I see, you have started a discussion about your card-motives. I donīt know, whether itīs useful to sart a new thread. But Iīm thankful to get a few informations about the symbolismn of the painting and your thoughts, when you put a new one in.

Wow, your paintings are just beautiful! I love the blending, the colors, the lack of "straight lines". It's your use of the colors that give the images their shape. They're just beautiful. They have a very mosaic feel about them. The Tarot of Cloisters has always been very mosaic-like to me as well. They leave so much room for the intuition to take hold, for the artist to express their image, and for the reader to see and interpret it - a very harmonized relationship. Those are the decks that I long for. I'm excited to see more of your work!

I haven't dared comment on your work up until now, because I don't think I can even begin to express how beautiful it is. Words won't do it justice. Your cards are full of vibrant, but somehow peaceful energy, and each image you show seems to be just right. I am sad that you have not had the support your talent deserves, and greatly admire you for turning the pain in your life into something so beautiful.
I would certainly buy this deck if it was published, if only so I was able to look at your artwork day to day and hold it in my own hands. I feel it would be a very precious deck. I hope that you continue to show your work on here, and wait excitedly for your next piece!
Best wishes x

You have a very powerful and original style, which is exquisitely executed. As others have said, VERY full of energy. I don't think you will have any trouble getting published. If I were a picky, bored corporate type wading through masses of submissions, I would definitely pick yours as one that stands out from the crowd and has a good quality of Mass-Appeal.

I just found this thread now. What beautiful work! So vibrant and spiritual! Thank you for sharing them with us, Wings, please show us more!
So here are the last two majors...
I agree...these are wonderful, Anna.
You asked specifically for reactions to the Tower card. I have a reservation about it. It does the job, for sure--there's DISASTER written all over it!--but I find the flag in the corner a bit jarring--it doesn't seem necessary, and it takes my mind down a path that is less universal, more particular. It practically screams "America on Sept. 11 2001"--for me, the highly-recognizable AMERICAN flag makes this tower disaster less universal. After all, there are many towers. Just my thoughts on this one card.
I do love the paintings and hope you think about a venue for publishing these--good luck, and best wishes for the process of spiritual unfolding--to all of us!
Your cards are really very special, Anna - vibrant and sparkling, and yet so spiritually deep.
I think my favourites are the Hanged Man (normally one of my "problem cards") and Death - incredibly powerful.
I hope this deck will get the attention and acclaim it deserves.
Morwena
Debra...yes thats my concer also...I think I need to lose the flag and the standing figure and put in the crowns...and maybe bodies...and my Emperor needs a hand...I do have a publisher interested...
That's great news! Also glad the comments about the tower are useful...

I'm glad this thread was resurrected! What a lovely deck, and I enjoyed your gallery on the web immensely!
Regarding the Tower card, I am a U.S. citizen, and the image is most evocative of 9/11, which for me is very powerful. I understand the other posters' concerns about the American flag in the corner and I completely agree that it is unnecessary. Americans won't NEED that flag to put the 9/11 spin on the images in your Tower card, and those readers/viewers that are not from the U.S. probably won't be interested in that particular iconic flag image "setting" the card as anything BUT human-race-wide in scope, which of course it is. I think we all (Americans and citizens of every other country) would probably rather add our own personal mental interpretation to the card without the flag somewhat forcing the 9/11 connection. That's just my opinion, and I hope you take it for whatever you think it is worth. All in all, that is a spectacular card, with or without the flag.
What fabulous paintings and what powerful imagery infuse the entire deck. Aside from the Tower card, which is your latest, I am overwhelmed by the beauty across the deck. Each card evokes the proper emotion for it's symbolism and message in my opinion. Although your style is consistent, your ability to capture all 78 levels of the human psyche & experience is so powerful.
I am glad there is a publisher interested. I will look forward to following the progress as you finish up and publish your deck.
Stuck in the air with the king and queen of swords...Since I finished the majors I've been tired and a bit overwhelmed...I am opening a store in the Art Colony I live in ...I'm stuck on these two images hope sharing them will help me focus on what I was thinking???
So any feed back?

All your work is so lovely. To me, these look like spirit portraits, as though these could be guides looking over you. Your work is so much of spirit! You capture the fluidity and power as well as the love and gentleness of the upper world- yes, very much the upper world, the realm of angels and great teachers. (It would be interesting to use our two decks together, as mine is so much the underworld!)
Such a treat it is to see new wings paintings! What a nice start to the day! :)
Love and blessings,
Em x
Hi, wings, big admirer of your work here and glad you got your eyeglasses taken care of!
I think both images aren't as strong as they might be because there's something confusing in each that makes it difficult to just experience the picture. I'll just lay this out and trust that you take it in the constructive spirit I intend.
In the case of the king, the floating sword isn't "forward" enough in the frame (it looks more like a board laid across his lap) and so the shadow doesn't appear as a shadow at all. His left hand (the one with the ring) is at an impossible angle that's disturbing (where is is wrist and elbow?) and the back of the throne on that side is also off in a confusing way. In other words: perspective. But I love his face, hair, robe, and the background--the feeling seems right to me, but I'm set back by the difficulty of "reading" what's happening. Similarly with the Queen--hard to see how the sword got there and what it's doing and I think her face is too old (she's more of a crone than a partner, and seems not well-matched with the King.) Her face is also maybe just a bit too distinctive to serve as a character archetype. Love the gown and the bird, the feathers and the colors.
THANK YOU Debra!!!
You see my problems with these two...do I start all over or try to "fix' them
these are my last two canvasses this size...sigh...I think my big problem is with SWORDS...but my "destiny " card is the 3 of swords and I like the drawing I did that took two attempsts ...I am a Libra and my soul mate is an Aquarius and Air mental realm is home to me..but I have trouble with the sword symbol but that's why I started with them ...Ijust got a gallery to set up (DONE) and will have the okay from the board of directors to open up shop on May 6th...feeling the need to paint will keep showing them as I decide what to do next...but really you realy helped me articulate what is wrong here I think you are right on...it does help to get honest criticism, but I have been atactted for critical comments and am a little shy about it now;so thank you (I'm 60 yrs old) been painting for 40 years I can take...like fresh air...but sometimes you know it's not 'right' but you are too close to see why....Wings

:bugeyed: I've just found this thread and am really taken by your work!! Soooo beautiful. And not only beautiful but full of meaning. Best Devil card I've ever seen. It's going to be a fabulous reading deck.
I agree about the Tower card. Of course, Hawaii does have a built-in equivalent: the volcanoes. They both destroy and build.
And your new Queen of Swords shines with Intelligence. I think you're on the right track there. I like the tao symbol. Points out that she does have a dark side.
I'm writing down the title to this thread--it deserves a second and a third look. I'm so glad you've found an interested publisher.
greycats ;)
It is always a thrill to get such insightful comments...I am very inspired by the volcano sugggestion...and encouraged by being able to convey the essence of this symbol...some day ,somewhere i would love to document all the "queen of swords" I have drawn and painted over the past 30 years...
I think she is my definative Qof Swords I may call them "Diamonds" still feeling it out...
Hi, wings. Yes, I like the queen better as a younger, less specific woman; the feathers and bird and sword work well together and I like her headdress, too--I like everything about her! Now I realize that your old queen was "in progress" which just goes to show....I thought she was done! But the new queen seems to work better, to me.... love, Debra
PS she could be a q of diamonds....I like the crystals on her clothing, too!
I thought I had said I was stuck and showed the work "in progress"to
get some ideas and your insight helped me ...I really appreciate the time and thought so many of you have given me...i do listen and am learning so much on so many levels...the King is breaking out and the queen seems to be over looking his manifestation...they should be a pair ...a challange I'm taking on to day .......
It's 2:00 pm on a hot sultry hawaiian sunday and I think the King of Dimonds-Swords is done or close...Ta Dah!
Now they're a pair--I can see they belong together. I'm a swordish kind of person myself so I'm loving these two.
wings, you DID say it was in progress...it just didn't penetrate my brain until now, is all!

Still pluging away..computer died, created a gift shop-gallery and working the store 5 days a week car died on christmas eve and just started running to day;helped throw a Winter Soltice Party and had 9 folks for dinner Christmas...very very busy but redid the Queen and King of Air and the K&Q of Wands.......hope I sized them small enough...
Well Wings! Happy new year! I've been wondering where you've been--your deck is on my wish list! I like all four of these royal persons. I could imagine meeting these people--they project individual personalities. I am particularly struck by the Q of Wands--she seems subsumed by her own fiery nature!
Wow!!! I think that's all I can say, because words just don't seem enough for these works of art! I think I'm in love! Can't wait to see some more of them, Wings.
...your work is truely beautiful! The energy in the illustrations leaps out from the screen!
I wish you well with them.
Best wishes,

Hay Debra ! so happy you are still with me...the Q of Wands is so Aries to me
I have two Aries in my life Mother and daughter and I know they influenced the image...I have had some time to work on the numerology of the "pips" and found some interesting explanations of the cronology of Ace through Ten
I think I began this journey in 2004....I have been meeting interesting people from all over the world and making connections for the printing ...but right now the king and Queen of Cups are driving me bonkers....layer upon layer,
Karen and Kneely thanks for checking me out...alone in my studio I sometimes wonder why I can't be sensable and paint palm trees and coconuts for torusts......but I turned 61 in October and really don't have time to fool around (well I do have some time to fool around BUT not in the studio)
Bless all of you for your encouragement it is a cherished gift.........

I clicked on your first picture and expected to have the same reaction I do to most cards... critical, thoughtful, analytical... but instead, I just immediately smiled. Your illustrations are full of so much beauty and hope and joy. Thank you!
checking in to see how this is going...lovely peaceful feeling from these drawings

Crazy beautiful deck, Wings.
Have a good eye...perfect...have a bad eye....imperfect....am a little bi polar in my visual perceptions,,,,very very odd,,, hard to write for ages...half way home...to finish my deck here are last pictures of my "kids" nothing finished or settled until my new lense is implanted...but your feed back would be invaluable
Some are very different some not so much , I can see I have work to do some tones were totally absent from my perception
Just Had Catarat Sergury

I'm glad you're getting your eyes taken care of, Anna. My dad says cataract surgery really helped--just be patient. And we'll be patient for you, too! Wishing you speedy healing.
After looking at some of the decks you guys are creating I'm really anxious about "exposing myself " but here goes you do seem like a friendly bunch..
It takes alot of guts and courage to show your Art work, and well done the image looks very unique i like it.
keep them coming.:)

I would really love to see the originals in person. They are just so... juicy!
All of a sudden...well it has been four months...but I can't remember how to attach my photo file or how to make my pic's the right size ...but I am back and will get back up to speed...catching up with a thousand little things and I run a small "Gallery , Gift Shop " in a non -profit Childrens Media Center and I lost time and was three months behind on all reports and paperwork
but for an artist to have their eysight restored IN THE SPRING-IN HAWAII-ON THE GARDEN ISLE-OMG!!! I haven't experienced this kind of joy EVER every thing here is so BEAUTIFUL and I repainted the King and Queen of Water and hung a show of 8 "Royals... and made cards(greeting) and prints and Gecl'ee on canvas of the Queens and started a set design for the childrens theatre (8'x24') -run the store 20 hours a week including a weekly "Art Night " where I am greeter and docent to a hundred or more visitors...helped the husband paint the floor of the gallery ...I have painted the view out my Studio window
(for the Doctor who gave me mysight back) and two small canvas' of spring flowers (Spider Lily & Angel Trumpet) and Started the Aces...and I get very
tired but I have mised you all and when my computer teck wakes up I'll send images and visit with you guys again ...the floors are drying and I get a day off. . .Be well . . Wings
Wings, I am so happy for you. New eyes! Can't wait to see your pictures.
Tried a couple of hours ago to upload a QQueen and King...was on my husbands computer ...we have all our picture files there cause it's part of the big printer Now I don't get the button ? Maybe I have to start a new thread ?
perhaps it'sthe server ? It says I may ...but alas it is not true. . .
Hi wings. If you are a paid subscriber, you should be able to attach pictures. If not, then you can upload them to a photo-hosting site and post the link. If it's a tech problem, you can ask for help by starting a thread here: http://www.tarotforum.net/forumdisplay.php?f=6

Hi Wings, dear
Itīs a long time that I had a look on your paintings. Iīm curious for the new ones ;)
p.s. I love the universe !
So I'm going to try this again
no go drat !
well if you go to http://annameansgrace.byregion.net
and click on photos you will be taken to my 5 Galleries
the drop down meneu on the right will list all work the last Gallery "Family of Elements" show all 8 of the finished Royals
maybe I need to start a new thread?
oh Langustal of course you love the Universe and the universe loves you and your work (i see you have new things going on)
Oh, wonderful work, wings! I especially like the Queen of Fire.
Me too Debra!! I loved your new courts and the Queen of Fire is PERFECT!
Thank you . The Queen of Fire is still actively worshiped in Hawaii , this particuler "Daughter of Pele " is a 21 year old Aries I've watched grow up
and she is the daughter of an Aries mother . They are a family of Musicians
and this girl has an ancient wisdom that I was thrilled to reflect on to the canvas.
I am working on my Aces. . .all four at the same time...my husband(That old wizard)thought if I painted them smaller and all 4 that would keep me more balanced and this is an amazing way to really learn Tarot right now I am humbled by how much I don't know. Numbers have always be troublesome
for me, but the I Ching has taught me a more mystical view of the natural progression of numbers so I am paintig in a very intuitive mode pushing through till I find the magic. . .there is all ways magic if I don't get lazy.
