LS gold foil decks - how do they survive being at regular use?

catlin

Hi guys,
I am thinking of turning my gold foil Visconti into a regular reading deck.

Now I am wondering how the gold foil printing will tolerate being used a lot:

- Will it peel off?

- Will it turn dull?

Thanks for your input.

My Visconti Gold was purchased for me in the Fall of 1997 (back then, it was released by US Games). It's been my primary reading deck ever since 1999 and has aged very nicely, with the gold foil still intact. The gentle aging has enhanced it's historical appearance beautifully.

The newer version by Lo Scarabeo looks to have an even heavier gold foil on the cards, which bodes well for minimal wear, I think. I noticed a slightly thinner card stock than my older deck, but the overall quality seems to be the same.
