Which meaning?

How do you know which meaning of a crystal is the right one? Are there a number of meanings for each crystal? I brought a new smokey quartz yesterday. I was drawn to it for its meaning of being grounding and releasing all negativity. Then later on I was looking at something else which stated a completely different meaning of that crystal.

Crystals have many uses, it depends how you program them. A good book is Judy Hall's The Crystal Bible.

A good place to start is by googling ! Google metaphysical properties of crystals. It will lead you to millions of pages of their uses.

Yes, meanings of crystals may vary but don't let this distress you.

Pick a stone you like and try to listen to it (no, I am not nuts), you will feel it in what way the crystal is helpful for you.

Thank you for your help. I feel relieved now that I realise there are loads of uses for crystals. I went with the original meaning which is the reason why I brought it in the first place. I intend to get the book The Crystal Bible aswell.
