Hi there,
Anybody out there who has worked with this deck?
Any information will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I have it, Catlin, and I've worked with it for myself and friends. It's loosely based on Ifo spider divination - but obviously card-based, rather than leaf-based - and it has simple pictures of village characters and events. It has 40 "positive" and 40 "negative" cards - showing the types of people and situations you might encounter (e.g. "a jealous woman" or "a helpful friend"). It's very oriented towards practical, everyday divination, and gives you no-nonsense, straight and not always subtle answers. This is not to say it does not have a spiritual element - but that is, in the African manner, very much wrapped up in practical concerns. I like it because it reminds me so much of the African way of viewing life - and sometimes that's just what is needed!
The book is an overview of African divination - very useful as a generla and practical introduction.
